On Golden Pond - plain boring

The Piano - Just not believeable

Sadly I often fall asleep in the cinema so rarely go! By the time things come on tv I usually have an idea if I want to see them. I sometimes record it at the same time so if the inevitable zzz’s come I can watch the end later. A film has to be very exciting for me to remain awake!

Love Actually is probably my most hated film, too many characters with too many plots. Wonderful life has a nice ending but the first hour or so is boring. Have tried to watch Citizen Kane but couldn't do it, it seems to be a very masculine film, are there any women in it?
Normally I love musicals, but the Sound of Music left me cold as well.
My son likes Wes Anderson films, so have had to sit through a few of those.

I'm sorry but this just made me laugh out loud . I do like that film!
Couldn't bear the latest Downton Abbey offering though. Quite possibly the dullest film I've ever watched.

Top Gun, We didn't watch it all. I found it hard to see Tom Cruise as an ace pilot. Needless to say we wont be watching the sequel

Ironically he is an Ace Pilot in the real world

Brief Encounter is top of my list of films I don't like. Once, I was having some work done in the house and we got talking about films and I confessed that I didn't like Brief Encounter. The chap was horrified, and sulked for the rest of the day. It's Celia Johnson (?) and that mangled 30s middle class accent - het for hat etc.
I didn't like La La Land either. couldn't engage with it at all.
When I was young and at home we all used to love the films that came on TV at the weekend. Bringing Up Baby and Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House were two, but now they really irritate me. Anything called a screwball comedy puts me off. Oh dear! Perhaps it's my age,

Mama Mia, over-rated rubbish with no story to it, but I loved West Side Story

Any film where people spontaneously burst into song! Mama Mia. The greatest showman,the bearded lady makes me feel queasy, ? Rocketman ! any musical really.

Not films but 2 London Theatre shows .
1. Barnum with Michael Crawford
2. Cats with Elaine Paige

Hated them both equally, whilst everyone else raved adoration

Lord of the Rings - just fight, fight, die and repeat!

Any of the Star Wars movies, not my thing at all.

I hated this film. But love abba so was really disappointed

La La Land - vacuous twaddle
Downton Abbey - absolutely dire in every respect except the scenery
Little Women (2019 film) - a complete annihilation of everything Louisa May Alcott set out to portray
Mama Mia - it stretched my credibility so far it snapped. And the mangling of the music was too painful to listen to.

these are far outweighed by the thousands of films I do like/love.

Brief Encounter is my favourite of all time and that is saying something considering the number of films I have seen in the last ninety six years.
I deplore the latest remakes of the Thomas Hardy novels etc. Also Les Miserables and other long novels. I suppose I am critical because I have read all the books. Must be difficult to adapt a thousand pages into a couple of hours but they could get some details right.

La La Land - I only managed to watch the first 15 minutes and then gave up.
Shinamae I have never watched The Sound of Music or Mary Poppins and never intend to. However, I quite enjoy most musicals including Les Mis.

The last 15 minutes of La La Land were actually quite good. But it wasn’t worth watching the rest of the film to get there.

Love Actually, Mamma Mia and Titanic. So boring.

Mine are "Up" - I don't find it as sad as everyone else apparently does.
"It's a Wonderful Life" - I just don't like it!

I agree about Wonderful Life. I got around to watching it in full for the first time last Christmas; and the only bit worth watching is the vey end, which I've seen trailers of hundreds of times!

I don’t go to many films, but I have to put in a word for Brief Encounter. Wonderful acting, wonderful portrayal of the middle class mores of the time, pre-war 20th century, and beautifully structured. It’s a Noel Coward play, so that explains a lot..

I second Brief Encounter. Never fails to leave me in tears.

I agree with Love Actually - lot of sentimental dross. Emma Thompson is the only one who emerges with any dignity.
Not seen Mamma Mia - the premise doesn't appeal, woman doesn't know who is the father of her child!

Les Miserables - the TV drama series was fantastic but why would you have a musical about such a dark subject? I haven't watched it, the whole idea is ghastly.

La La Land - it does not compare with the old musicals.

I hate most fantasy films (Lord of the Rings) and modern Hollywood films which rely on CGI to create totally unrealistic and crazy action scenes. They are made for teenagers.

Purple Rose of Cairo (or indeed any Woody Allen film). Also hate horror, zombies, anything scary. I don't watch films to be scared but to be entertained and made happier!
I tend to watch Netflix-made films and series, they're made to entertainment.

Clint Eastwood together with Meryl Streep in Bridges of Madison County.
I am familiar with the area it was filmed.
