Films that everyone likes .... except you!

All Bond films leave me cold. I guess I don’t enjoy escapist nonsense dressed up to be real life.

I thought that I was the only one !
I hated Les Miserables too .
I don't say so , because most of my friends love those films .
I had trouble keeping awake watching them ,but didn't admit it .

We'd be boring if we all liked the same things !

I LOVE Abba songs but thought Mamma Mia was terrible. Such a pathetic storyline and bad acting (and singing!) Even Colin Firth being in it didn't improve it for me.

That reminds me when we were watching Titanic at the cinema.

As we were leaving a young bloke yelled out, You could have told me that. the bloody thing sank, which caused a lot of hilarity.

Night to Remember was far better than Titanic. I can still well up when I think of the old man telling the little boy that they'll find his Mummy. When we know they won't.

Thank goodness there are others who don't like The Greatest Showman! Also disliked Mamma Mia - as soon as I post this I will undoubtedly think of many others!

The Greatest Showman, and Lord of the Rings. Couldn't stand either of them.

The Sound of Music, totally tedious. Dirty Dancing, never cared for Patrick Swayze. Partially agree about Titanic, it’s ok once the iceberg has been hit.

Anything with Tom Cruise in.

I don’t go to many films, but I have to put in a word for Brief Encounter. Wonderful acting, wonderful portrayal of the middle class mores of the time, pre-war 20th century, and beautifully structured. It’s a Noel Coward play, so that explains a lot..

Titanic - I hate water and there was rather a lot of it.
Dancing with Wolves - can’t stand Kevin Costner.

But loved Mamma Mia and The Greatest Showman!

Mamma Mia gets thumbs down from me too - so boring and predictable.
Any James Bond film - I like films that do not relay on special effects - so that cuts out rather a lot!

Lord of the Rings - but maybe I am the wrong demographic.

I refuse to watch Titanic (any of them) for that reason.

Les Miserables is one of my favourite shows, I detested the film.

I also disliked The Greatest Showman.
Unfortunately we are singing This Is Me with our choir this month.

Oh dear MOnica, ‘Brief Encounter’ is one of my favourites, more the period, clothes, way of life (for some, of course, doing the weekly shop with just a little basket, popping into the library, lunch out plus cinema, then home to ‘Cook’ having some soup ready, plus listening to the radiogram with DH….)

Sad memories of Love Story, it came out when I was expecting my first baby. I became convinced I wouldn’t survive labour and cried buckets. Still feel teary when I hear the music.

The greatest showman. My friend and I exchanged quizzical looks when the rest of the cinema audience spontaneously burst into applause. It was the biggest load of tosh I have sat through. I still don't get the attraction

My (then) teenage twin daughters have never forgiven me for falling asleep when they took me to see Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.

Years later, I also fell asleep when two g.daughters had, on tv - Frozen. (which they both knew by heart).
