Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking grey outside this morning, but its dry here in brackley.
Plans are to get the bus to Buckingham ,and then get another to Bicester , do my usual coffee with a small shop after .
returning direct to brackley on the bus .
Followed by cycling on TV , its a pity Covid as lifted its head again in Europe with riders getting it , but UK may also see increases if they are right .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick, it’s a misty start here; I was hoping for a wet beginning to the day!
More sorting out, furniture moving and general chaos here today in preparation for the wardrobe fitting, new flooring and decorating over the next two weeks ?
Poor DDog will be relegated to the kitchen so she doesn’t escape through the front door.
I keep telling myself it’s all worth it!

grandMattie Sat 18-Jun-22 06:30:43

Good morning from E Kent where the sky is covered with high cloud. I hope it isn’t going to be as hot as yesterday, when we hit 31C. I loathe this heat.
Yesterday was a bit curate’s egg-ish. DD did a lovely little service for burying Philip’s ashes. Tears, laughter and much love.
The oncologist appointment was interesting as DH threw up throughout… he was prescribed some very strong antiemetics which I think have started to take effect. We were told that if the sickness didn’t settle, DH wouldn’t have the third chemotherapy session as the side effects outweighed the benefits.
The medication seems to be working ?and DH managed to sip water all afternoon and evening, and is still asleep.
Came home to find that the AC had rearranged the house to make the “sick room” more pleasant. Very sweet of them.
Thought you might like to see my geraniums.
Hope all goes well for all today, rest, and better health. Carpe diem. ?????

Sar53 Sat 18-Jun-22 07:12:11

Good morning everyone from a hot and sticky Essex by the sea. The temperature in here is 27°, the same as it was when we went to bed !!
Food shopping first thing for me whilst DH gets the car washed.
No plans for the rest of the day.
I'm pleased that your DH is more comfortable GM, I hope today is a better day for you.
Enjoy Saturday everyone whatever plans you may have xx

ShazzaKanazza Sat 18-Jun-22 07:14:48

Good morning Mick and everyone from a wet Hull but much cooler.

grandMattie your geraniums look glorious. I can imagine yesterday was a day full of mixed emotions? thinking of your DH

It’s my best friends DDs wedding today so very much looking forward to that. We are staying at the venue. Our other best friend is still positive for covid. We were all hoping for that line to disappear but it hasn’t so their room has been cancelled and they will be greatly missed. My sick friend spent all day in tears as she’s already recovering from a major operation and the thought of missing the wedding was just too much. ?

We enjoyed our DGC yesterday after school. They are adorable. DD and SIL came to pick up GD and we had more baby Bea hugs. That baby never stops smiling. Felt so sorry for DD her eyes were so red and angry and watery with hay fever. It’s apparently the worst it’s ever been for people this year.
Have a much cooler Saturday everyone enjoy your day if you can and thinking of those with illness and worries??

Ashcombe Sat 18-Jun-22 07:19:20

Good morning from an overcast but warm Torbay. I hibernated yesterday in the coolth of my flat as I find the heat debilitating.

Those geraniums are splendid, grandMattie! Quite a day yesterday but I hope your DH continues to be more settled. Your AC sound very thoughtful.

Enjoy the wedding (or welding, as DH likes to call them!,) ShazzaKanazza! How sad for your poorly friend! Covid numbers seem to be creeping up again, Mick, according to the news yesterday.

Today I could go to a Folk Festival in Teignmouth or visit a big event on the Downs: Armed Services Day. If I get organised (unlikely!), both could be possible!

Whatever your plans, I hope you find reasons to smile today! ?????

Marydoll Sat 18-Jun-22 07:31:04

Good morning all from a breezy and cloudy Glasgow. It was only 11° when I woke up.

Glad to hear that part of your day went well, GM. In a way, it was fortunate that your DH's consultant saw how badly the chemo is affecting Mr GM and resulted in a medication change.
Once to my mortification, I violently threw up inside a scanner, it certainly pushed everyone into action.
I hope you have a gentler day, today , GM.

Keeping all those in the sick bay in my thoughts and prayers.
Shazza, have a great day at the wedding, so sad for your poorly friend.
Sorry to hear you are in the Doghouse Urms!

It's not only in Europe, that Covid is rising, Mick, I know of a fair number here who have it, including half of DD's office.
As she is living with us, we are having to keep away from each other, especially as I have been informed I must remain on the CEV list.

Enjoy your Saturday, everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 18-Jun-22 07:34:34

Morning all

It’s still very warm here in S E Essex, I think a lazy day is on the cards.

grandMattie I do hope the new meds will help your DH ?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

ShazzaKanazza Sat 18-Jun-22 07:36:57

I said it was a wet Hull, well according to the sky light in my bathroom it looked it. Have come downstairs opened the blinds and it’s dry as a bone outside. Thought I’d better clear that up if Grandmadinosaur comes on as she’s a 5 minute drive from me. ?

Greyduster Sat 18-Jun-22 07:37:02

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It has been - or still is, I can’t tell - raining in South Yorkshire, and cooler, thank goodness. It will do the garden good. I stayed at DD’s last night. We had a nice Indian takeaway and a film. Home this morning and some food shopping to do for a family lunch tomorrow. I thought DS would be coming down but he isn’t which I’m slightly disappointed about. I was looking forward to seeing him.
Lovely geraniums, GM. Glad the new medication is working for your DH.
Have the best day you can folks.

Grammaretto Sat 18-Jun-22 07:39:11

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Nicely sunny here. Not too hot grin
I'm glad that your big day went well gM and DH is going to be more comfortable.
My DH never could tolerate the strong drugs either and never took the full dose
My df arrived after her long drive from the north of Scotland in torrential rain. She says this is the last time she'll drive down. We have the Summer Fair today.
DD has been ill with covid all week and today has a hospital appointment which she's waited 18 months for. Sod's law. I just hope it can be rearranged.
Have the best day you can everyone.

monk08 Sat 18-Jun-22 07:40:06

Good morning all from the Black country where I can hear the gentle patter of raindrops on the utility roof.
Your geraniums are terrific GM ours are nowhere near as abundant.
I've ironing to do today all this nice weather and I seem to find lots of washing which then results in my least favourite chore.
Will read through later full English calling.
Enjoy your wedding Shazza such a shame your other friend won't be there with you.
Take care all, best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Saturday and may you all find some ?.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 18-Jun-22 07:46:09

Good morning from East Yorkshire. It is indeed damp shazza although I didn’t hear it in the night but it’s a much welcome cooler start.

Yesterday we had a pleasant day in Leeds for a bit of shopping and a nice lunch.

Today DH has to go to the bank in the city centre and that’s all we have planned so far.

Have a wonderful day Shazza and I’d like to see photos of you both suited and booted? Sorry for the friends who will be absent how disappointing for them.

Lovely geraniums GM

Take care everyone.

Pittcity Sat 18-Jun-22 07:47:11

Good morning from Colchester where it's 18° with hazy sunshine.
32° yesterday, only reaching 23° today. It's muggy though.
I slept with the fan on all night which is unusual for me.
DH will be home from his fishing trip this afternoon and DD will be making an early Father's Day visit as he will be out all day tomorrow.
I need to nip to Aldi for supplies.
Love to all ? x

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 18-Jun-22 07:57:12

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I haven’t peeked through the curtains yet so no idea what the weather is like. I am going up to London today to meet my daughter. She is buying me Afternoon Tea somewhere in Marylebone as a belated birthday present. Younger son is going back to London too after a few days at home. It is our Village Festival weekend so hope the weather is at least dry. I will be on the WI stall tomorrow. ??? for lots of you.

NanKate Sat 18-Jun-22 08:03:55

Good morning Mickband All.

It’s still warm in South Bucks but will turn cooler and wetter as the day progresses.

We are off to an outside performance of Macbeth, I prefer the comedies but I’m a sucker for a picnic and performance and couldn’t resist booking tickets. The rain will start at about 8.00 so am taking an array of clothes.

grandMattie you flowers are beautiful. You are in my thoughts ?

dragonfly46 Sat 18-Jun-22 08:05:43

Good morning from SE London where it is hot yet again. I am hoping it is raining at home though as the garden needs it.

Taking dog to woods today and out for dinner this evening.

Beautiful geraniums Mattie.

Wishing every one a good day.

BlueSapphire Sat 18-Jun-22 08:10:09

Good morning everyone from a very overcast Northampton, not raining yet, but it is forecast later. Hoping to pop down to M&S after lunch to puck up an order.

Went slightly mad in Sainsburys yesterday! Bought a jumpsuit, which they actually had in a petite size, some shorts and yoga pants, both with an elasticated waist, which I fear is very necessary these days. I am trying to lose half a stone before my cruise in August....

Thought you would like to see my commissioned painting, which arrived this week. It is of a village church near my Wiltshire childhood home, and holds many memories for me. My DF's family lived in the village and attended this church for generations; DF was a chorister and bell-ringer, family weddings, christenings and funerals have been held there; my parents' ashes are there, my grandparents are buried in the churchyard, as are assorted aunts, uncles and cousins. As a child I often used to stay with my aunt and uncle in the village, and of course would visit the church which is nestled under the downs and surrounded by fields where sheep contentedly graze. So looking forward to getting it framed and on the wall.

Hope today turns out well for all, especially those with worries and cares.

brook2704 Sat 18-Jun-22 08:12:37

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and sunny. No scorching temperatures up here yesterday was about 19º but very windy. Everything was blowing about in the garden but a great day for getting the washing dry.
The geraniums are beautiful gMattie looks like they enjoy the hot sunshine
Have a lovely time at the wedding shazza such a shame about your friend
Today I’m meeting DD2 in town and then dropping DGD off at her dance class. My eldest DGS 8, has gone on his very first Cub camp, all packed up and dropped off last night but his rucksack was almost as big as him!
Enjoy your afternoon tea with your DD llfl
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Grandmabatty Sat 18-Jun-22 08:14:27

Good morning all from a sunny Polmont where it's currently 12°. Very windy again. Grandmattie those are beautiful geraniums. Very vibrant colour. NanKate 'Macbeth' is one of my favourite Shakespeare plays. I loved teaching it. I hope it goes well and you don't get too wet. Shazza have a lovely day.
Yesterday I did all the housework and some extra then, thanks to the new stepladders, replaced the horrible lampshades in the hall. We had a family catch up and fish and chips for tea. The boy's behaved well.
Today I will do a food shop before meeting a friend for coffee. We are going to nip in to my old school's summer fair. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Sat 18-Jun-22 08:15:11

Shouldn't be an apostrophe at boys. Grr.

harrigran Sat 18-Jun-22 08:15:32

Good morning from a dry NE where the sun is trying to shine.
I washed the towels and some bedding yesterday and they dried very quickly as it was breezy as well as warm.
Sister and BIL will visit this afternoon with shopping and we have a drink together, today I have pink Champagne cooling but not for BIL he has a no alcohol beer.
DS and GD2 will come this afternoon, GD1 is still revising as her GCSEs are not finished yet.
Thoughts are with you and DH grandMattie, the nausea and sickness is so debilitating. Hoping for a better day.

brook2704 Sat 18-Jun-22 08:34:48

Thats a beautiful painting Bluesapphire with so many precious family memories, thanks for sharing

ginny Sat 18-Jun-22 08:39:02

Good morning from an overcast N. Bucks.
Today will be a bits and bobs day. Food shopping, a bit of weeding, a cake to bake.
Hopefully I’ll spend the afternoon doing some art work while DH watches some sport or dreary programme.
Wishing all a good day.

LauraNorderr Sat 18-Jun-22 08:52:57

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny, warm and totally gorgeous Anglesey.
grandMattie I’m sorry to hear that Mr gMattie is struggling so much and hope the change in meds helps to settle him. Glad the service for Philip was lovely. tears laughter and love, sounds perfect. Trust you to find something of beauty to share with us, stunning display of geraniums.
Hope you enjoy the wedding Shazza, and that the sun shines for you all, shame about your other friend, lots of WhatsApp photos for her during the days perhaps so that she feels part of the fun.
Folk Festival, event on the Downs or another day of hibernation Ash, whichever you choose, enjoy.
That painting is wonderful BlueSapphire and what a lovely memory for you.
Will your dh arrive with lots of lovely fish to be cleaned and gutted Pittcity or does he throw them back?
Envious of your full English Monk and that Afternoon Tea LadyLF*. Dinner out this evening for Dragonfly, Indian takeaway for Greyduster and then lunch in Leeds for Grandmadinosaur. Oh heck, diet and exercise in full swing here.
Hope you daughter recovers from covid soon Grammaretto and can arrange that appointment sooner rather than later.
You’re right Mick covid is on the up again, especially following big events like the jubilee.
There are probably loads more posts since I began writing so may I wish you all the very best of days.???????
Hurry back Urms, missing you… and Matt.
