Jessie Wallace Arrest!

So Jessie Wallace knees a policeman in the privates while drunk, and shouts a mouthful of obscenities during a drunken bust up on a night out! And put into back of police van while cuffed by two officers, arrested on suspicion of assaulting police officer an offence which carries up to 12 months behind bars! BBC have told her off, I’m just wondering what would have happened if a man had done this to a female officer would they just get a telling off!

But galaxy it is an indisputable fact that Karen is also used as an insult - which is unfair on real Karen's.

I think people are talking about that too The thread has evolved.

Joseanne Thu 23-Jun-22 08:36:46

But who has used it in that way kitty?
No one as far as I can see.

Horamlady Thu 23-Jun-22 08:48:16

Alcohol and depression are linked, just saying.

I didn't say they had. I was pointing out that people are talking about the name and the insult. That is all

OK thanks kitty

I’m thinking celebs like this case and Jordan should not have lenient court cases. They need help and sending them home is not the answer. I do hope they both get the help needed.

Real life soap on here now it seems.

Grantanow Thu 23-Jun-22 11:51:17

Who?

Shazmo24 Thu 23-Jun-22 12:01:00

The BBC should fire her and a few months in jail might sober her up

katy1950 Thu 23-Jun-22 12:03:10

I'm not surprised

Missiseff Thu 23-Jun-22 12:07:07

I love Eastenders.
Can't imagine the health organisation I work for letting me off scot free if I'd assaulted anybody though

Worthingpatchworker Thu 23-Jun-22 12:07:56

Here’s a thought….as punishment for her behaviour she should ride with the police for a week.. Especially if it is with the officer she inflicted pain and suffering on.

Clevedon Thu 23-Jun-22 12:21:16

Another celebrity let off charges the rest of us wouldn't be. How Katie Price gets away with what's happening ?

Camelotclub Thu 23-Jun-22 12:22:43

I thought for a moment you meant that Labour MP, Jessie Phillips!

MissAdventure Thu 23-Jun-22 12:32:34

I know plenty of non celeb drinkers, gamblers, drug takers (I mix with some strange people) and they all are "let off" when they fall foul of the law.

I'm enjoying the fact that the police who actually were present at the event are being accused of favouritism towards some actress that half of us have never heard of. Yet a whole bunch of people who weren't even there have questioned Kat/Karen/Kathleen/Jessie's mental health, whether she's addicted, demanded that she be sent to jail, sacked or made to ride in a police van for a week.

Funny old world.

My sister watches East enders, I dislike it . To me it encourages disrespect and bad attitude in my opinion its horrible and young people watch and think it's acceptable behaviour , now this woman who is a star in the show has shown more disrespectful behaviour to our police force , she should be ashamed of herself, alcohol related or not . I've some unpleasant words to call her but I won't in writing .

icanhandthemback Thu 23-Jun-22 13:40:23

If she can't control herself after drinking alcohol, she shouldn't drink. If she chooses to drink (and this isn't her first run in after imbibing) she should take the consequences which should be a charge for assault. I don't understand the leniency in this case. If a man did this, we'd be most upset at the violence aspect.

Why not give us your opinion instead of just commenting on other people's opinions.

I’m with Germanshepherdsmum … who is Jessie Wallace and what is EE

MissAdventure Thu 23-Jun-22 14:15:18

I don't think she has been treated any more leniently than anyone else would be, perhaps because a spell in prison doesn't serve any purpose in terms of "curing" someone who has problems.

It runs much deeper than locking them up for a few weeks, with others, who may have similar issues.

volver Thu 23-Jun-22 14:15:44

I don't have an opinion about any drunk people who were arrested in North London (?) on Saturday night, because its none of my business. I don't know their past history, I don't know what their given names are, I don't know what they do for a living and I don't demand that they should be sacked.

I don't make judgements about their mental health, I don't expect them to be banged up. I'm not crossing my arms, harrumphing and pursing my lips.

I don't have a flaming torch or a pitchfork, either.

Who is Jessie Wallace?

Glad I'm not the only one who's never heard of her. If this were a man assaulting a police officer, especially a female police officer, it would be treated far more seriously.

Joseanne Thu 23-Jun-22 14:35:01

I think it often helps to add a photo when posting about lesser known people, be it Jessie W, Janey G, Louise Windsor or any other random. The number of posters asking "Who?" on all these different threads might then be reduced.

lilydily9 Thu 23-Jun-22 14:41:53

I'm another who stopped watching EastEnders when Den and Angie left but I've watched Jessie in other productions. She was very good in 'The Road to Coronation Street' where she played Elsie Tanner. That said, I'm amazed she got off so lightly for assaulting a police officer.
