muse Thu 07-Jul-22 23:03:41

Good evening kitcheners. Dropping by before I walk Mya.
I wish I dare flash my toes Jax. Yours are fantastic.I have toe envy.

Hope you find yourself in the garden chair again tomorrow Yia. I’ll pull my hammock up and join you for a glass or two.

That sounds like another busy day tomorrow. Have lots of fun and giggles with the boys Grandnabatty. Pleased about DGS1.

Have a grand day out tomorrow Blossoming. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

I’m not budging from my sofa tomorrow afternoon. Eyes will be glued to the tennis. Had DD here last year. Wish she was here this year. We will be texting regularly.

Night all. Dog is by the door ready for the off.

Just come to bed after Question Time and Newscast - our Thursday treat and the reason we struggle to get up on Friday! And I’ve done Friday’s Wordle ?
We have an invasion of fruit flies so there are glasses of vinegar all over the place for them to drown in. The down side of country living!

A very early good morning kitcheners, I’m just creeping in for a quick snack ?
It’s the first night in my new bed and I can’t sleep grrrhhhh! The bedroom is newly decorated but still needs tidying up- it took DH and I 6 hours to assemble an ottoman bed - never, ever again will I attempt such a task ?. It had reasonably good instructions but boy, was it complex ?
Anyway, all done and I am pleased with it.
Decorating etc continues……….it seemed such a good idea before it started!
I see a heatwave is forecast, I really can’t tolerate the hot weather, neither can DDog, so I will be lurking here I think!

soop Fri 08-Jul-22 12:45:11

A good afternoon greeting to you lovely, lovely lot.

Jax Wow! Very glam.

I awoke yesterday feeling rough...signs of an impending UTI...^again^. Have sent pee sample to surgery. GP will phone this afternoon. What a buggeration. hmm

Rafa out of Wimbledon. I am very sad. Boris going out of number 10 (eventually) and I am very glad. Hope that Larry, the cat, can return to his normal duties.

MrS at the dentist in Tarbert. He then needs to go in the opposite direction to Campbeltown to have his eyes tested. We shall have a late lunch today.

After the tennis, I shall pop into our kitchen for further catch-ups. A group (hug) is in order.

SueDonim Fri 08-Jul-22 15:11:53

Covid has got me. hmm I’m just sitting on the sofa today.

Grannmarie Fri 08-Jul-22 15:19:29

Aww, SueD, sorry to hear that. I hope it is mild and you recover quickly.

Soop, hope you get the UTI nipped in the bud, so to speak.

I'm very glad to hear that Grandmabatty's wee DGS is now on the mend. Have a lovely time with the two wee boys!

Thinking of YiaYia's brother in law, hope he is improving.

TOYA. ?

Nannytopsy Fri 08-Jul-22 15:19:52

Bad luck SueD - look after yourself.
Can’t stop, the iron is hot and the tennis begins …

MawtheMerrier Fri 08-Jul-22 15:31:11

Tiptoeing in, not so much MawtheMerrier but MawtheContrite who is very, very sorry she has been a naughty Maw and won’t do it again.
Missed you all, so sorry for the poorly peeps and poorly pooches ???
Get well soon all of you ???

ShazzaKanazza Fri 08-Jul-22 16:07:10

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Go Cameron Norrie!

Just sitting out with a cuppa I can hear it in the background.
SueD sorry to hear you have covid. Hope you get through it without to many problems. ?
Soop hoping it’s a UTI that swiftly goes away?
? Maw.

This morning I did a long walk. I parked my car near the racecourse near a huge pasture. Those who know Beverley will know where I mean. As I was walking a hundred or so cows were approaching. They were just going onto the pasture. Absolute chaos as they were crossing the road climbing on each other’s backs and nearly onto cars it was hilarious ?
I ducked into a doorway at the racecourse with my back to them. One spotted me and peeped at me around the corner and sniffed my shoulder and went on it’s way. Then down the hill I was ducking cow splats everywhere. Bit of an adventure. Good job I’m not scared of cows. My not animal loving youngest son would have been terrified. Big lad that he is lol. I’ll put a picture on of the view down the hill and of the pasture it’s lovely.

Soop I think in the next election I’m voting for the cat I’m sure he’ll do a better job.

Speak soon lovelies x

Grandmabatty Fri 08-Jul-22 16:09:50

Soop I hope it clears up quickly. Grannmarie dgs1 is definitely on the mend. Five hours of playing with trains and managing a baby has worn me out! Suedonim I hope it passes you by quickly. Nannytopsy fruit flies are a blooming curse. I have little dishes with cider vinegar dotted around the house.
I'm off to tidy up the toys. Dd has taken dgs1 to taekwondo for a taster session so I'll hear later how it went. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

hulahoop Fri 08-Jul-22 16:22:40

Soop hope you have caught uti early ,good to hear your grandson is in the mend *Grandmabatty.Shazza I would have been terrified .I've been lazy today out to shops then a pear cider and read in the back garden .I heard last night one of my granddaughters has got covid she's not poorly so that's a blessing.

gillgran Fri 08-Jul-22 18:15:27

Oh dear, sorry to see Cam Norrie lose his semi-final, but he's given us lots of hope, getting this far.
Exciting match for Alfie Hewitt, (& I think he's also in another semi-final (doubles) match today).
I hope you were feeling well enough to get a good view in your umpire's chair, soop.

Good to see you back, Maw, we missed you.

It's hot & extremely dry here, & forecast to be more of the same.

Warm wishes to you all, especially those with extra worries & problems.

brook2704 Fri 08-Jul-22 19:13:58

Aww SueD so sorry to hear you have the dreaded Covid, hoping it’s a mild dose with no nasty symptoms. Stay in the kitchen where it’s nice and cosy and calorie free treats all day
Soop, shooo that that UTI away very quickly - its not at all welcome at all
Today I’ve been to the gym for a good splash around at the Aqua class and then across to Starbucks for coffee and a sandwich with my friend. We had lots of catching up to do and the time flew past. Tomorrow I’m going on the train to collect 8 year old DGS who’s on holiday in Northumberland just now. The rest of the family are continuing their holiday but we’re bringing him home and looking after him until Monday when he’s off to his cub camp in Lochgoilhead for a week.
I don’t mind cows Shazza as long as they’re not too close. We had to cross many a field of cows on our recent walks and be very careful where we put our feet!
Lovely to see you here maw. ? we need urms back too!

Blossoming Fri 08-Jul-22 19:57:02

Good evening dear Kitcheners, we’ve had a lovely few days wandering here, there and everywhere. I have eaten far too many naughty things and don’t want to even look at the scales! It’s been fab grin
So tired how, will try to catch up tomorrow x

Bellanonna Fri 08-Jul-22 20:37:05

soop, another UTI is not what you want but perhaps the sample you supplied was negative. Fingers crossed.
SueDonim, get better soon. Numbers are rising, sadly.

Dogsmakemesmile Fri 08-Jul-22 20:41:10

Evening all. Been a bit busy last few days. So sorry .SueDonim you have Covid. Everyone round here seems to have it albeit mildly. I haven't yet and believe it's a case of when not if.. Rest, rest and drink fluids.
Soop I can't believe you are being plagued again by a horrible UTI. I hope you get support from the GP and a quick alleviation of the symptoms.
Blossoming. Wonderful to hear you have been having fun.
Shazza how laid back you are! I love cows (belted Galloways are my favourite) but they can be whoppers! Do take care.
Weather here veers from grey cool fine drizzle to fabulous blue sky and real heat. Ddog prefers the latter. Have the windows open and enjoying a breeze. Listening to Any Questions. The last few days have given the panel and audience plenty to talk about.
Take care of yourselves. x

Jaxjacky Fri 08-Jul-22 21:24:13

Hi all, a hot day and more to come, I’m happy at this time of night.
Bum SueD hope it’s mild and soon gone. Another one soop debilitating, swift treatment required.
Pleased you enjoyed your adventure Blossoming bit of r&r now.
Enjoyable lunch with a couple of friends today in Winchester, shopping delivered and tennis watched, Norrie and others are the future.
Thinking of your family in Australia Yia difficult times.

Anyone with rain? Yes please x

Nannytopsy Fri 08-Jul-22 23:42:47

If anyone has rain, please send it to East Anglia! It’s very dry in the garden.
DGC are asleep upstairs. It took a long time to get an overtired, 8 YO GS to sleep. He worries that I would rather be downstairs with Grandpa and that if he tries to go to sleep, I will think he really is asleep and go down, leaving him awake. And that I will tell Mum he couldn’t get to sleep. He can be a very anxious little chap. I keep saying I spend all day with Grandpa and would much rather be with him! ?

soop Sat 09-Jul-22 13:18:36

Maw You are more than welcome to remain in the kitchen. It is not the same without you. flowers

SueD Relax and allow your body to recover. I am sending you a gentle (hug).

More antibio's.
gillgran I did officiate from my umpire's chair during Cam's match. He played a spirited game. He gave us all plenty to shout about. His turn to lift the trophy will come. He's also a very pleasant man...unlike one who shall remain nameless. hmm
Yes, Alfie Hewitt's match was extremely exciting. He was a true warrior.

Grandmabatty Your energy is amazing. I wish that you could share some of it with me.

Shazza You kept your cooel, well done. I believe that cows are to be avoided when they have their calves with them.

I am hoping that the ladies final will be entertaining. I shall be cheering for Jabeur.

annsixty Sat 09-Jul-22 15:00:54

Hello all.
Just popping in to catch up and feel sorry for myself though so many have more cause than me.

My younger GD is twenty today, apart from the day she was born I haven’t seen her on her birthday.
The same goes for her brother and two other of my GC.
We aren’t a demonstrative family and today I am regretting that.
My D , her mum, is 57 tomorrow and I reach the dizzy age of 85 on Tuesday.

I am out with a friend for a meal tonight which I am looking forward to hugely.

Can life get better?
There doesn’t seem much time left to find out?

Have the best day you can everyone, at least the weather is beautiful here today.

SueDonim Sat 09-Jul-22 15:26:54

Oh Maw, now what have you been up to? grin Welcome back!

Ann have some flowers to help you feel better. flowers. More flowers to anyone else who is feeling down in one way or another.

Day Three of Covid for me. I’ve still got a fever, headache and tickly cough and have added in a streaming nose. If people had as much gunk on their lungs as I’ve got in my nose, no wonder they had so many breathing problems. sad At least the scratchy throat has eased off. My symptoms are quite different from dh’s, which is v odd.

My poor dd is snowed under, as her second dose of Covid seems instead to be Hand Foot & Mouth and her 4yo also has it, along with an exacerbation of asthma. Whaaaaaa! Make it stop! ?

Grandmabatty Sat 09-Jul-22 17:06:51

Annsixty ? we all have things we regret. I'm sorry you are feeling low.
Today has been another busy one. I was waiting for a paint delivery so decided to clean out the fridge. I have made a very nice vegetable chilli in the slow cooker if anyone wants some. I also cleaned the inside of the summer house which was full of cobwebs and a couple of dead wasps. I put some paintings up in there too. Rejects from the house. It's been too hot for me to sit out so I'm listening to music before dinner. The paint didn't get delivered,of course, because I misread the email. ? Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Grandmabatty Sat 09-Jul-22 17:08:28

Suedonim I forgot to leave you some flowers. ? I hope everyone is recovering in your family.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 09-Jul-22 17:32:23

Hello everyone. I’m in Vienna with my daughter and we are having an exhausting but lovely time. We went to the Klimt Museum today where The Kiss isn’t my favourite painting. I prefer his rural paintings. We have been eating huge Austrian meals! We are still stuffed from lunchtime.

Yiayia4 Sat 09-Jul-22 17:37:01

Sorry you and your family are poorly Sue get well soon.?
Thinking of you Soop and hope your feeling better.?
Enjoy your meal Ann
A slight improvement in BIL today we are hoping?for more good news.
Another very hot day chicken tandoori on the BBQ, plenty for all.
