Hello!
So no time like the present…
The Myers-Briggs Personality Test; otherwise known as 16 Personality Types.
I first did it several years ago.
It’s very interesting (well, I think so!)
Here is the link…

I’m a Consul. It is very accurate. Quite spooky really ?

yogitree Tue 28-Jun-22 13:22:20

Dee1012 me too, but this conclusion is worrying! "Indeed, using the MBTI to unlock the mysteries of the self is akin to trying to understand the Stone Age by watching The Flintstones.

But Emre’s goal is not to understand the self. Rather, it is to explore two particular selves. This is a story of two remarkable women who founded an enormously successful commercial empire, which has significantly framed the conversation about the contours of personality, as understood by millions of Westerners today. As Emre shows convincingly, the fact that the premises of this conversation are so flimsy makes the examination of its origins and impact all the more interesting, more important — and more disturbing"

I’m glad that everyone is enjoying the Test (apart from Yogitree! wink)
Who is Emre by the way?

Bridie22 Tue 28-Jun-22 13:25:04

Advocate !

FannyCornforth Tue 28-Jun-22 13:26:49

And who is ‘Dee1012’?

FannyCornforth

And who is ‘Dee1012’?

Ah! Sorry, she’s upthread and a mediator smile

I've just completed the questionnaire, and have been "diagnosed" as an Advocate, which I feel was spot on. Very impressed!

Sweetpeasue Tue 28-Jun-22 13:48:03

Thanks Fanny. Do hope you're feeling better after your op.
Apparently I'm a Defender. I love this sort of thing. Anything really to do with Psychology.

TwinLolly Tue 28-Jun-22 13:50:37

I'm a defender. Quite a true personality trait, looking at the write-up.

toscalily Tue 28-Jun-22 14:09:04

Best wishes post op Fanny, hope your not too uncomfortable. Enjoyed doing that and I'm a Logistician, quite a lot rings true.

Naughtyneine Tue 28-Jun-22 14:10:08

Fanny this will probably come as no surprise but I came out as Entertainer given what I've got up to since having the same op as you ...and I was noddingall the way through and even the bits I wasn't so keen on..in my heart I knew were true. I did a weekend course some years ago on the Ennnegram...9 personalities with sub types. I couldn't recognise myself at all in any of them but knew I didn't want to be type 2. In the end that is exactly what I was....basically all things to all people. I railed against it for a while then gave up and accepted the truth of it. I hope you are getting steadily better every day.

Hello Fanny

I did not know you had had an op. I would have wished you well earlier had I known.

I wish you well, Fanny

Sweetpeasue Tue 28-Jun-22 14:22:11

And if I had known it was a hip replacement Fanny I would not have previously said I hope you feel better, so soon after it. Husband had 2 and it's not a walk in the park. I'm sure you will notice some improvement over the coming weeks. ?

StarDreamer Tue 28-Jun-22 14:23:27

A little over twenty years ago I was out of work and I went on a course about starting a business. One morning a lady arrived, told us about the Myers Briggs test, gave us the test, and told us our results privately. In practice we each told the group our scores.

Thinking about it all, after a week or so, I realised that the result of the test was indicating to me that running my own business was not something I was suited to do. That would not have stopped me of itself, but it sort of fitted in as relevant, sort of crystalising the situation, if that is the way to put it.

I have not tried this test yet.

Parsley3 Tue 28-Jun-22 15:20:16

This was fun. I am a Defender and I would say that is pretty accurate.
I hope you are making a good recovery, Fanny. Thanks for the link to the test.

BlueBelle Tue 28-Jun-22 15:40:54

Apparently I m an entertainer…… which I m definitely not
The only answer I gave that resonates with that is I am the organiser if any events or meet ups with friends !! bit I definitely aren’t an entertainer much too shy

AGAA4 Tue 28-Jun-22 15:41:46

I am an Adventurer. At first I thought not me but as I read through I realised how accurate the description is.

FannyCornforth Tue 28-Jun-22 15:48:27

BlueBelle but you must have answered as an Extrovert; you must be a very complex shy extrovert!

FannyCornforth Tue 28-Jun-22 15:50:36

Thank you for all of your kind wishes!
I’m doing ok thank you; I’ve just been to see the nurse, and apparently my wound is ‘as good as it gets’!

Urmstongran Tue 28-Jun-22 16:00:54

I’m an Entertainer.
A happy person.
?

MrsKen33 Tue 28-Jun-22 16:05:43

I’m a Defender .

Blinko Tue 28-Jun-22 16:22:07

I'm a Consul. Interesting.

lixy Tue 28-Jun-22 16:22:09

I'm a Defender too - and could recognise myself, warts and all, in the commentary.
Thank you for that FannyCornforth. Hope your recovery continues to go well.

Visgir1 Tue 28-Jun-22 16:22:21

I'm an Entertainer.. Think the rest was quite accurate.

garnet25 Tue 28-Jun-22 16:24:35

Another Defender here
