Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sun is attempting to break through the clouds.

I had a visit from a another friend yesterday, I’ve never been so popular! It was good to see her as it’s been months since we last got together.

Today I’m waiting for a neighbour to let me know if she’s free to go for tea and cake to one of the local cafes. If not DH and I plan on visiting a National Trust garden which is about twenty five minutes away.

Marydoll, I’m sorry it’s taking a while to get over this latest hurdle, you’re never far from my thoughts.

Hope you feel better soon Harrigran.

Good morning everyone from a sunny holiday Brixham. Not sure it will last.

Thank you for the Anniversary congratulations on Sunday and the get well wishes for DGS 3. He had croup and an allergic reaction to something. Steroids have helped and he is recovering. Now have to wait for allergy tests.

Our group of friends are off for a bus and train ride today. Lunch out.

Ongoing thoughts for Grandmattie and family. Also for Marydoll and all others with worries and illness. Hope you can all find a smile in your day.

FYI I had a brilliant night - was in bed by 2100, and slept till 0530. One of my best nights in a while. ❤️

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, set to be like it all day. I cut the back grass yesterday and intend on doing the front this afternoon.

But first, a lunch outing with friends; one of my friends is a part-time carer to an elderly lady of 90, who she is taking to a solicitors appointment late morning, so she has asked two of us to join them for lunch afterwards. She thinks it will do the elderly lady good, as she seldom leaves the house or meets people. Looking forward to the restaurant/pub, as it has a very good reputation.

Thinking today of grandMattie and her family.

Hope we all find a bit of sunshine ? today.

Good morning from north Norfolk where abundant hollyhocks delight in the pretty villages and sea lavender lines the levees under a huge, wide open sky. Ultimately there is the promise of crab from Cromer (pictured) and fabulous seafood.

Good morning from a bright, breezy Durham. I have laryngitis and can barely manage a squeak!
Electrician today to put up outside lights as I live in a dark corner. Picking up DD2’s daft old dog later for a few days. He’s company for me and it gets him away from an active baby.
*gM’ I thought about you a lot yesterday, your sad post reminded me of losing my DH last year. He was doing well on his treatment and had such hopes for the future. It was a strange shock when he went downhill and was gone in a few days. I’m thankful I carried out my promise to nurse him at home and remember those last few words I whispered to him before he left us. I’m sure you will look back and remember yours too. So different that your DH had made arrangements for his funeral. I did the best I could, given we were in lockdown. Please take things slowly, I realized there was no real hurry - that was all in my head. I’m pleased you have your family around you and I’m sure they’re a great comfort and support.
Must put kettle on, I hope the electrician likes a Kit-Kat - other biscuits are available!

Thank you Marydoll, I’m feeling much better after a few days of rest. Your experience with the phlebotomist sounds horrendous though, I’m glad I don’t have any bloods due until September.

So glad you had a restful night’s sleep Mattie, that you have lots of support and that your DH clearly outlined his wishes. Be assured you are in the thoughts and hearts of many, many on GN.

I have a friend coming for coffee this morning, and will treat her to a slice of the cake I made yesterday. ?
DH cleaned the messy window cills yesterday. I'm sure we have pterodactyls and not pigeons flying overhead. But while doing it he has wiped the kitchen window as well. So this morning with the sun shining, I can hardly see out! Did he notice? No!

Hope your bruises and soreness heals quickly Marydoll, and that you soon come back to feeling more like yourself.

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast. Off to sing today, then to find frames for some artwork which needs to be in by Saturday. This is the side of painting I’m not keen on…
To Tate in Liverpool yesterday for lunch and exhibition. My friend didn’t fancy the exhibition (to be paid for), so we had a lengthy chatty lunch, then bookshops, John Lewis etc. it was breezy and chilly and I regretted my bare, if tanned, legs..
Thoughts to grandMattie for this strange time so many of us know so well, those with daughters having treatment and anyone with worries .

DH is recovering so well with such determination, a typical Capricorn, I am so relieved and pleased for him.
Our girls - 2 DDs and 2 GDs have pulled all the stops out to make a strong caring team for us.

My thoughts are with you GM love and strength as always, take care of yourself with loving support from your DD and DS❤️

So pleased you managed a good few hours sleep GM. My thoughts were with you all yesterday.Putting myself in same situation I really must have a heart felt discussion with DH as to how we would like our own end of life care to be ( if able to choose).DH has always insisted he doesn't want a funeral and as we become more isolated there would only be our DSs attending.Just cannot believe how life has turned out due to DH mental health issues.
Marydoll the phlebotomist also struggles with my bloods and I joke I will have a tattoo circle done X marks the spot.Many don't like being shown the usual spot but are quick to apologise after 3 attempts leaving me badly bruised.
Quick trip into nearest city to return items purchased for DGD last week one set had 2 different size items.I only hope they have a complete matching set as she loved it.
Thoughts of all with illness and worries.?

Mary I am sorry you are still suffering. I can relate to the blood letting experience. I am usually poked by the nurses at the GPs, then sent to the local hospital where they still have problems to the main hospital. You end up with a black and blue arm.
I hope you pick up soon and feel more like your old self.

We had a lovely morning yesterday at a NT garden , we stuck to the walled garden , easier for my walker , it was lovely to chat to some of the very knowledgeable volunteers , outside the walled bit was a beautiful lawn with a flower border , the alliums were huge
Michael I hope you get your stomach problems sorted easily and quickly

I have one good vein *Marydoll’ but they don’t use it if they can get blood from anywhere else , it’s kept for emergency now !

I am saddened to hear of the death of your very dear husband and send my deepest condolence to you and your family.
Your husband is now at peace and pain free and no doubt re united with your beloved son.
I am pleased that you have managed to have a decent sleep for once and hope that you will look after yourself now. You have had such a hard time this last year or so.
I know that you will cope as you have such a strong faith and a loving family and if you need anything more then your many friends on here will come to your aid,I'm sure.
I don't think you realize just how much respect and admiration the people on this thread have for you. You have such strength. You are in my thoughts and prayers.x
