She once said on TV that she couldn't think of anything English people had to be proud of. Good enough to pay her salary though. Sorry back to Strictly!
oh dear, am not a Fan of Strictly..so don't hit me...i just get bored with all these 'famous celebrities' just wanting to renew their popularity or egos
*Grandmadinosaur*, it looks like Zoe Ball's pushing and gushing has worked, I heard on Radio 2 that Richie the traffic announcer will be on Strictly. I saw him on Richard Osman's House of Games recently. I hadn't realised that travel/ traffic staff are celebrities now... will the newsreaders be next? Still looking forward to Strictly though!
Oh yes, traffic announcers are A list now. I would be amazed if Claudia Winkelman hasn't been doing a bit of pushing and gushing herself to get Sally Boazman on as well. We can't switch off fast enough when that excruciating "What would Sally do?" segment comes on her show on a Saturday morning.
Looking forward to Strictly though - even if we do just watch the dancing and skip through practically everything else! It's a very short show at our house.
Pleased to hear Will Mellors is one of the contestants, I wonder who else is in the line up.
I went to see the Strictly Professionals Live show in Nottingham & they were all brilliant. It does remind us all that summers rapidly coming to an end but I’m looking forward to it, brightens up the Saturday evenings in the run up to Christmas.
Another reason for me not to watch Saturday evening TV on the BBC! No real celebrities here but anyone who shows their face on television in whatever capacity gets presented as one! Thank heavens for the choice of channels we now have and can’t wait for the BBC to become subscription only, as it should be, and rid us of being forced to subsidise channels/‘entertainment’ many people never watch!
Why do people come on to a thread which is delighting in the return of a much loved programme to say they never watch it? Do they like pissing on folks cornflakes? Do they think it makes them superior somehow? There are lots of programmes recommended on here which I'm not going to watch, but I wouldn't go on a thread to announce it. It's a bit Bah! Humbug! Each to their own.
I'm really looking forward to Strictly starting again, although I agree it's a bit of double edged sword, as it does mean we are getting towards winter and the dark evenings again.
I never really mind who is on it, even if I don't like them, as I just like watching the "journey" (awful word, but it does fit!) from non-dancer, to pretty damned good.
Every year I say the same when they announce the contestants.." who ?" I do think they are running out of well known people. I did love Russell Grant,Anne Widdecombe and John Sargent. Let's hope for promising contestants in the next few weeks but,oh dear ,does that mean we have to think about Christmas?

Totally agree - this isn't a programme I watch, but I know a great many people do and enjoy it, just as I am sure there are programmes I like which others may not. We are all different - I hope the programme proves to be very enjoyable to those of you who are looking forward to it.
Jayde Adams, the comedian, has just been announced. I saw her on something recently and liked her but cannot remember what it was, was not keen before that.
Been a Strictly addict for years and looking forward to a decent Saturday evening’s entertainment. Always record it as well for so I can see more detail on replay.
I can’t wait for strictly, a few weeks ago I saw Anton and Giovanni in their own show called Him and Me I just loved their dancing and taking the Micky out of each other because of the age gap.
