This is my MILLION DOLLAR moment ..... ( about 4 years ago) $$$$$$$

When I borrowed some antique jewellery to wear with a plain black evening dress. (A diamond and pearl choker and diamond earrings. The stones were rose cut set in closed back settings and the effect was stunning by candlelight. (Sigh))

I have a navy faux leather jacket that I love and I bought myself new knee length navy boots with buttons up the sides last winter and they look great together. I can wear my jeggings, skirts or dresses with them and I feel really dressed up and makes a lovely change from my dog walking outfits.

Unconventional I know but it’s actually my M and S running gear with my Nike trainers. Running makes me feel a million $ so I reckon it’s appropriate ??

Nothing, I look and feel dreadful in everything I wear. The only time I've felt right or pretty was on my wedding day

My daughter introduced me to Popsy I now have 5 of their dresses and lovely coloured and well fitting tights

Yes, I'm the Bombshell dress lover. Definitely million dollar dresses. Sadly, most of the time, I look more £5.50...

Oh, I thought it was janeainsworth. Though I guess there must be a few who like that style

I was thinking of janeainsworth

You look lovely in your Bombshell dress too ChocolatelovingGran

I'm definitely 2s 6d today and more often than not these days.

I remember a black silk chiffon evening skirt which I bought when we were invited on a cruise but then gave it to my SisIL because I never wore it afterwards. I wore it with a Frank Usher evening top (Frank Usher was quite upmarket then!).

Perhaps not a million dollars but definitely more than 2s 6d.

Not sure about a million dollars, but I bought this dress in Ibiza this summer and just love the colours.

Angela73 Mon 22-Aug-22 15:30:46

That’s gorgeous Hollysteers. I rarely like clothes people post on GN, but that really is lovely

I never felt like a million dollars in a liberty bodice!

Now, what make were the vests?

Cherub? Chilprufe?
Perhaps they need to become fashionable again instead of silly crop tops.

Hmmm, maybe not million dollar moments, but perhaps $1000!

I remember a light blue dress with white collar and cuffs, very fitted waist and tiny buttons down the front that I had in my 20's. I felt a princess in that dress!

And I admit I felt very nice at my daughter's wedding in 2014. I had a burgundy dress and black bolero style jacket. I guess the cut of the dress would be called fit and flare, it hugged my waist without being snug, and flared out to a fairly full skirt. It was lovely.

I absolutely love burgundy...
In fact my favourite colour of all time is aubergine ( which is close to burgundy- the deeper shade of burgundy)

The dress sounds wonderful and you felt FABULOUSLY in it so thats all that matters..

Things I've made myself make me feel good. This top I squeezed from a piece of fabric that was in a '£2.99 scrap bag' from Minerva. I made the skinny jeans too. I also feel pretty good when wearing my karate black belt. Although the black silk has largely worn off, that is a sign of dedicated training.

Don’t know about million dollars but I felt good in this at Covent garden for my 70th

I still have a fifteen year old Masai red and white polka dot sleeveless dress which I used to feel fantastic wearing.

During lockdown I just got bigger and bigger and more and more fed up. I bought a budget bundle of ( pot luck) viscose and got the most beautiful vibrant jungle print. It is turquoise, jade and magenta. I prepared a pattern with a beautiful corseted waist but I thought “who are you kidding!” So I sewed a simple large shift with it.
I’ve lost a bit and “what holds a lot, holds a little”. But every time I wear it I feel a million dollars, it’s lose and stylish and I love the colours.
Last time a lovely young woman said how I looked so well put together. Oh if only she knew!

A red mini dress that I bought for a special occasion around 1967 - fitted as if it has been made for me. Years later I uneartherd it and couldn't believe that I had ever worn anything that short - luckily I always wore pretty knickers!
