I have gained useful knowledge from a variety of Gransnetters, some of which are now friends in the real world Thank you ?

I don`t often post but generally read Mick`s Good Morning thread.
I wanted to give a mention to grandMattie who has endured the most difficult of years but whose posts always think of others & remind us to "carpe diem".

I would like to add my thanks to Mick and the GMmers.
You may know that our son died last September and that DH died last month. The encouragement, support and good wishes from that group have been a lifeline to me. It has been heart warming. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I always start my day off with a quick (no, tell the truth Sharon!)
well , a bit longer than quick, read of the days posts before I start my jobs and then call in during the day.
I love you all. All different personalities.
My admiration goes out to Annie. Life has been so cruel to her over the years and I often wonder how she keeps going.
Despite her own problems she always finds the time, kindness and advice for those she has taken under her wing.
You are an inspiration Annie.

I've been reading Gransnet for about 5 years and have found it to be a great friend ,I start with the Good morning thread and love to read everyone,s,doings,etc, can,t settle till I've read that ,Granmattie is ok ,Marydoll is ok ,Ashcombe,Urmstongram,shazza from Hull as that is where my husband is from and then of course everyone else who contribute,s I miss gillybob,and granmafrench .Then i love soop,s kitchen ,you're all really kind and special people long may gransnet continue .

what a lovely idea for a thread, thank you. I am always impressed by the cross section of people on here and the experience everyone brings.

I remember a post about a sea gull, or maybe it was a stork, that came on a regular basis to nest on a granseters roof. It was an interesting post. Is there an update? Love the uplifting positive posts here. Yeah!!

It was regular poster BlueBelle who had a baby seagull called Steven Sebastian, it was before my time, but others recommended the thread to me.
BlueBelle had another seagull friend last year too I think.
She posted lovely photos of the birds too.

I hope that she sees this, she is usually around at this time before her early morning dip!

Good morning, yes it was me I had Stephen down my chimney (like going down a helter shelter) whoosh into my bedroom 3 years ago Then blow me Sybil came down last year
Both stayed with me two or three months and had LOTS of adventures Mum and Dad have been up there this year but either had no babies this year or had obedient babies that stayed in the nest so no companions this year
( I was prepared with tins of sardines )
Seagulls are such an interesting bird
They pair for life (no divorcees)
They fly to the Atlantic and come right back to the exact
Spot they were born in They talk in loud voices to each other and are brilliant parents

Was it you cherrytree who told me about a garden magazine special offer? It was an allotment pack and I want to report a bumper crop of gooseberries and rasps.
GN er experts have saved me lots of money on my phone contract, reminded me of scams, have taught me lots and kept me thoroughly amused and sane.

One more reason to be grateful to Gransnet :- I have no potatoes for dinner tonight but wait what have I got in my freezer? Why frozen mash mentioned on here some time ago and I have been using it ever since Thank you for the suggestion - sorry I can't remember who it was.

I sort of fell sideways onto Soops kitchen not really knowing how GN worked but it was like being enveloped in a warm towel after a cold shower (I'd got one of those on my first foray into GN). Since then I've loved my daily reads.... hearing everyone's news...sharing the joys and sadness of all the lovely kitcheners who I think of as friends. I recently shared my 'story' and the warmth and words of support meant so much to me and I will always remember their kindness and lack of judgment. You know who you are.... Thank You to you all....and to Soop...well what can I say.... You have the love of so many people who without you would never have had the chance to be part of one another's lives. We are blessed that you are part of ours. X

Thank you to all regular posters. Thanks for your views, helpfulness , and arguments sometimes. It's nice to see all your different experiences, and to read your advice, Experiences. And views are interesting. Some days I don't speak to or see many people but I read many posts and it helps me to stay Connected with the real world. What a great invention Gransnet is.

I, too, admire that Gentleman from Brackley, I'm often too late to post on the GM thread, but I do like to read about the kindly folk who post there.
It was the first thread I joined, before the first pandemic lockdown, (although I did get upset & confused by a poster who appeared lovely but apparently had a bad accident & died. This knocked my confidence a lot.). After this I was helped greatly by the very kind words from the lovely poster from FrenchFrance.

Also a mention for soop, her cosy kitchen & friendly followers.

Thank you to everyone. From 2014 onwards when i was going through cancer treatment and op. Everyone was so kind Nowadays I don't post do often but over the year's have read your posts with amusement, sympathy and sometimes horror. Some lovely posters are not with us now. However keep up the good work
