A cold Autumnal day in South Bucks.

We have invited 4 of our lone friends round to watch the funeral and then to have a sandwich lunch and toast the new King. One of our guests is the same age as the Queen and just as bright and sparky.

What a dreadfully sad day I’m already wiping my eyes. ?

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we have a damp start to the day. Like a great many others I shall be watching the tv broadcast of the State Funeral. I’d best have a box of tissues to hand.

An empty train has just pulled into the train station opposite heading into Manchester Oxford Road. No-one is on the station platform either. It’s very quiet here. All the shops in the square downstairs will be closed as a mark of respect.

Yesterday was a quiet, at home day. Much the same today with the focus being the tv. I know what you mean gingster, a long goodbye.

Nothing happening today other than keeping an eye on the television whilst crocheting more poppies.

Morning all from a slightly cool West Oxfordshire. I have been moved already today by looking at the Order of Service on the BBC website. I suppose I should get up, leap in the shower and go downstairs!

Good morning all. I was woken at 6.30 by my late neighbours family clearing her upstairs flat! She died 2 weeks ago and the HA gave them to the end of the month to clear the flat but they decided this morning was the time to do it. I know it was probably the best time for them but not for the neighbours 2 of which are in their 90s and very poorly. Besides the clashing around the shouting out the windows is ridiculous. You can tell I am not a morning person cant you!
Not doing much myself today, will be in front of the TV. The journey to Windsor passes just a mile up the road from us but I will watch from here as I cant get there because of my legs.

I will be watching the main part of the funeral and observing the two minutes silence. I might then go to the gym if I’m on my own as they kept it open on a skeleton staff. DH is going to do some work. He very much respects the RF but doesn’t feel the need to watch the funeral.
I’m going to message my son who will be on his own with grandson to see if he wants to come over to ours.

Good morning everyone from a dull and grey Northampton. I washed the towels yesterday and they need to go out to dry.

A lovely service yesterday in our town centre church. The first hymn, Love Divine, was also one of our wedding hymns and also sung at DH's funeral, so a tear or two was shed. Afterwards I went to a newly refurbished town centre pub, had a glass of wine and roast beef (saved me cooking last night)..

That was followed by a quick look around the shops - where I found the perfect new pair of shoes! Can now throw out the rather dilapidated pair I have been wearing for the last few years because they were so comfortable, but looking rather scruffy and down at heel.

Like so many, I will be watching the funeral today, and have no plans to do anything else.

A quiet day today, will be watching the funeral - but will take DDog for his walk first. Tire him out otherwise he’ll be wanting to play when we’re trying to watch the proceedings!

A day in front of the tv. Such a constant in our lives I'm sure we thought she'd go on forever. The end of an era.

I've no detailed plans for today, the television will be on shortly but I won't be sitting in front of it quite all day. I shall be watching all the momentous bits, it all reminds me of watching her coronation on a neighbours little black and white tv, the first time she really came to my notice. It's going to be strange not having her around any more.

Safe journey home Ashcombe, I guess the roads will be very quiet.

Morning everyone, off to church soon and then driving to a friend’s to watch the Queen’s funeral together. We will both want to notice and comment on such a historic occasion so will appreciate the experience better in company.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from, as Wyllow has already said, a damp, cloudy South Yorkshire. Yes, Jax the little one is holding his own, but he has a long way to go, so we are keeping everything crossed. Sunday lunch with DD et al was rather chaotic yesterday, but enjoyed seeing GS wolfing it down! Today I shall, like others, be parked in front of the tv, with a box of tissues no doubt!

Today will be a quiet day here as elsewhere throughout the UK.

Good morning from a dry NE where the sun is now shining.
I have the day to myself so will get the washing and ironing done.
SIL and I sorted some more paperwork before I cooked dinner, we had a starter of Parma ham and melon, probably the last melon of the season as they are no longer soft and sweet.
Watched a film on Netflix before he went off to Skype DD who is returning to the UK this week but only for a couple of days. She has been ill ever since her Dad died and we are really concerned about her.
Sad day but the start of a new era, third monarch in my lifetime.

Good morning Mick and all. The sun is shining this morning so it feels warmer, but the thermostat in the hall still registers only 14°. Apparently it's 9° outside. Most of my packing is done ready for tomorrow and the house is gleaming has received a satisfactory flick of the duster, so today will be spent with the state funeral and many, many memories x

Like so many of you today, I will be watching the proceedings on tv. An emotional day for the RF to get through. A mixed day of emotions here, too, as we lost my FiL on this date.

Yes I expect the roads will be quiet! As someone else remarked above, it was a bizarre day yesterday of full roads and last minute trips to supermarkets - and its only a day not the dreaded "C" word!

A later Good Morning after a restless night for me.
A few household chore to do first and might watch some of the funeral whilst doing some ironing that has built up.
Otherwise I’ll be getting on with some watercolour painting. I have an on line class this evening.
