Good morning from a distinctly chilly Bristol.
Yesterday went well, although I don’t know who cried more, DSiL or me! There were some really lovely, genuinely heartfelt words said about DD, which was lovely. Her dad would have been bursting with pride - I missed him so much. A lovely lunch was laid on for DD to be able to talk to as many people as possible.
Iris wa faffing about and “needed help” in choosing this and that to wear. I kept on going up and down to see her. The kitchen, where I was , is on the ground floor, her room on the 2nd. This is a gran Georgian terrace, there are no fewer than 28 steps per floor…. I was exhausted before the day started.
Today, I’m sewing party bags for Iris’s party at the end of the month. They are moving next Monday and the party is the following Sunday…. The children are not bothered by QE II’s funeral so shan’t be watching - I’m minding the girls while their parents are taking a well deserved day off somewhere. They are working so hard, getting everything sorted before the packers come.
Glad you had a good journey,*Ash*. Make today quiet and reflective. Carpe diem/horam. ❤️???
