Tacky memorabilia

There’s one on eBay already for £425! Yes tacky - however DD1 bought a similar bear after 9/11, but profits went to an associated charity in the USA.

I could just see the point if it was fundraising but fundraising for what , the company that is producing them?
Why a teddy if you gave it to a child they would have nightmares.
Memorabilia for the late Queen should be thoughtful and classy just like she was.
Not a mug, or a child's tea set with her and Paddington walking off into the sunset. I hope no companies are reading this I have probably just given them an idea.
Wait and see what Meghan comes up with a Lillibet doll?
Or a book on how to cope with losing a much-loved Grandmother. She is sure to find something to market.

I start shopping for Christmas in September boring to some I know! I was looking at tree ornaments on line this is before the Queen was ill and died.
I picked a little corgi with a crown on little did I know the queen would die two weeks later. It is only small but a nice piece of memorabilia well it is to me anyway.

I garden for a lady who collects teddy’s. I bet she’s ordered one.
I know that she paid over £1,000 for a rare one.

It’s very in your face over the top, gaudy and overdone.
Whoever designed it isn’t very good at it.
It would have been very easy to create something subtle, touching and sweetly sentimental.

Not Paddington though.
I don’t like the way that a movie franchise has recently become so entwined with HM.
I think that’s a bit tasteless too now.

I’ve got lots of little bits and pieces of Queen Elizabeth memorabilia, including my Jubilee Mice.

I recently saw a Freddie Mercury Steiff bear advertised in the paper.
I must admit that it really made me laugh

I'm obviously a very tacky person as see nothing wrong with it!

I wouldn't buy one but expect it will be given as a commemorative gift to newborns this year.

No more tacky than a cup & saucer or mug.

Corgis have been an ‘it dog’ for a while now, starting in the States, so I reckon that they were previously in high demand.
This is going to send the prices through the roof.
My late uncle always had corgis, and they aren’t an easy breed

Very surprised at Steiff! They have never been known to sell anything tacky and this must be a first for them. Disappointing.

Here are my glorious Jubilee Mice

One of my grandparents dogs was a corgi, in the 50s, named Taffy by my grandfather. He was a loveable little thing I spent many happy times with.

I bought this three weeks ago from eBay. Just before HM’s death.
It’s a Stratton Wedgewood Compact celebrating the Silver Jubilee.
It cost the princely (queenly?) sum of £8.40

Fabulous and tasteful. The teddy is just awful and not even a warm, fluffy brown teddy colour! What has a teddy got to do with the Queen or Freddie? And what would you do with it, just let it sit there and take up space? So many unanswered questions which don't matter at all unless you have the need to buy this rubbish.

They have gone down in my estimation now. A Steiff Teddy has always been the gift from DH and I to any newborns in the family. Don’t know if they will hold the same cachet as they once did.

As for the access to queue bracelets being sold on e-bay and other sites for 1000s, it is so tacky and plain right disgusting, and so disrespectful.
