Baggs ???

Having spoken with Baggs on the telephone, I asked her if she felt up to popping into the kitchen. She has done so. I now feel that I no longer need to keep the devastating news to myself.

Baggs has been a dear friend ever since we joined Gransnet. When I was recovering from hip replacement surgery, she visited me. We live some considerable distance apart, nevertheless, we do manage to meet up on occasions. She is great fun, and we always clown around whenever we do meet.

We can all do our bit to comfort her. Empathy is something that you lovely lot have in abundance.

I messed up a painting of an all-black pussy cat. It has been discarded. Did a pile of ironing. Will start afresh tomorrow.

Good afternoon all.
I don’t want to dwell on myself today when all thoughts and very best and kindest wishes must go to Baggs and her family.
However some posters have been kind enough to mention me.
My GD rang 111 last evening to seek advice as I still wasn’t at all well.
Extreme chest and most of my left upper chest area pain, it was taking my breath away .
They sent an ambulance which I waited four hours for.
After evaluation and a few tests they took me to the Emergency dept of our local hospital where I spent the most uncomfortable 11 hours.
To summarise, ecg fine, chest X-ray fine, blood tests fine.
Dr says I was a puzzle but any further probs and I must go straight back and they will scan for gall bladder problems and some other scans.
I feel absolutely awful today , I was sitting on a hard plastic shell chair all night, not a wink of sleep obviously and at my age not to be recommended.
The whole dept seemed to be swarming with police all night and we saw two people in handcuffs and one sad young girl trying to make a run for it only to be brought back and taken in to a room.
It is not an experience I want to repeat.

Enough of me , as I said all thoughts must be with Bagg’s DD and all her family .
If prayers are welcome you will have mine.

Oh, what a dreadful experience for you Ann and a worry for your DGD.

I hope you feel better soon but remember the doctors advice if you don't.

annsixty, my daughter and her partner spent the night in a corridor, she with bouts of intense pain, before the first CT scan and before she was transferred to another hospital for MRI and a whole body CT scan. Brain tumour notwithstanding she is a good deal younger than you and found it very tough. I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Every Mum's worst nightmare, Baggs, this is so hard to read and my heart goes out to you. Stay strong for her, lean on those who love you and - if the Power of Grans can work its magic again - we shall wait and hope for the best and happiest outcome with better news soon.

She hoped and worried for you, Soop, now's your chance to show the Carter fighting spirit is still there wishing only the best for Baggs and her Daughter. Let's all think positive !

And dear Ann, what a dreadful experience. I hope everything has calmed a little and you are now managing to get lots of rest and care. Please don't hesitate to get yourself back to that awful place if you have a recurrence of bad pain, if it means that you can have treatment urgently needed. Maybe an appointment with your Doctor to discuss and see what further tests can be undertaken might avoid further all night sittings in A & E. After your hip struggles, we don't want you laid up with anything else unpleasant. Take care of yourself, please x
