It’s been a wet miserable day here in Manchester but Himself just rang me and apparently they’ve had glorious sunshine this afternoon on the Isle of Skye! He was glad of his sunglasses whilst driving. The’Last of the Summer Winers on Tour’ visited two distilleries, lucky beggars. Purchases were made I hear.

Tomatoes are all out of the greenhouse now, the green ones have been simmering I the slow cooker making chutney.
Just in from a quiz night with our friend, my son and his gf, a fun evening.

DD and Fergus are here and going home later today. It’s been lovely having them and seeing how quickly he his changing. Yesterday he was awake nearly all day, so I hope he slept well last night! I didn’t hear him and all is quiet so far …

Especial thoughts for annsixty and soop and commiserations to Ladyleftfieldlover.
Sometimes we build up hospital consultations and hope that they will give answers, or even ask the right questions and often come away disappointed. If getting to JR first thing is as bad from your side as we used to find it from our direction, especially frustrating to make all that effort - for what.
It’s getting a bit wild and windy here but the autumn colours are wonderful.
Keep safe, keep warm and if you can - keep smiling.

Hello kitcheners, thinking of our friends with troubles ?‍♀️?

Morning it's very wet here ,hope* Ann &Soop* are feeling ok ,I had a low day yesterday nothing specific just several niggles .I'm hoping weather picks up its Gc picking up from school day.

Good morning dear Kitcheners, I hope all with troubles have a better day ahead. It’s quite stormy here, the leaves are falling and there are some glorious autumn colours. Mr. B is just back from having his Covid jab so I’ll go see how he is.

Dear you lovely lot, the worry is not connected with our family, but it has impacted on a dear friend and her nearest and dearest. I cannot enlighten you because she may wish to do so herself.

Bea My heart goes out to you. Try to remain strong.

I have a pet portrait to finish. Doing so will help me to concentrate on something I am happy to do.

I will return. Please don't feel sad for me. It isn't I who is suffering.

We feel sad for whoever has had this upsetting news, soop. And for you as you are a lovely caring friend to all and will be feeling your friend's pain.

I was feeling so fed up today and then had a lovely visit from Wondrous Wolfie and his mum. She hasn't been able to visit since I came home from hospital due to Covid so it was lovely to see them.

Good afternoon dear kitcheners. We've had torrential rain and wind here this morning but now the sun has got his hat on ? - Mr BA more than a little pleased as he's popping out to the pharmacy to collect my prescription. Sending hugs to everyone feeling under the weather or dealing with pain and sadness. BTW - my problematic knitting is sorted and the baby blanket is finished (phew!!) TOYA

I've been talking to soop. She asked me to tell you what has been overwhelming her. It is the news that my eldest daughter has a brain tumour. This, just a year after my middle daughter had breast cancer, is a bit of a wham to the system, and the Soops – dear friends that they are – were finding the news emotionally devastating, as am I.

The surgery DD1 needs is scheduled to happen tomorrow or Friday. I hope to go down to middle England on Saturday and my son-outlaw's parents have said I can stay at their house for as long as I like, which I thoroughly appreciate. The thought of nights in hotels at such a time..... ugh.

This week I have managed to keep weepy episodes at bay by having more work to do, filling in for an absent colleague. She and the rest of my colleagues have been marvellous and there is something very stabilising about working with those suffering various degrees of dementia.

So now, I hope soop will feel free to return to the Kitchen. She has my permission to talk as much as she likes about the situation I'm in. Regards to you all.

Oh Baggs this devastating diagnosis must be a huge shock to your family and all who know you. I hope your daughter’s surgery goes well and that the prognosis afterwards is better than you fear. You’ve all been given a double whammy and I cannot even imagine your pain right now. Like many of us on here I will have my fingers crossed for you all. x
