NannyJan53 Thu 06-Oct-22 07:47:10

I often read this thread but hardly ever post as I find it difficult to keep up with you all.

I too would like to send my love and best wishes to Baggs and her daughter, on this devastating news. I cannot imagine how you are all feeling right now, but I hope all the thoughts and wishes of us all will be of some small comfort.

Also, flowers to Ann I hope you are feeling a lot better now, after your horrible experience. You have a lovely caring DGD thank goodness.

Marydoll Thu 06-Oct-22 09:02:06

I am so upset to read your news Baggs. ?

TopsyIrene06 Thu 06-Oct-22 09:14:46

Baggs. Your family news is truly shocking and my thoughts are with you all.

Pittcity Thu 06-Oct-22 09:15:20

I am sending this virtual hug again especially for Baggs and her family and also to Annsixty.

No wonder Soop was knocked for 6 at such upsetting news.

Blossoming Thu 06-Oct-22 10:00:23

Thinking of you and your daughter today Baggs, hoping for a good outcome.

I hope Annsixty has had a better night and is feeling better today.

Naughtyneine Thu 06-Oct-22 10:03:30

Ann... Sometimes to have a little cry is just what you need to do..let out all that sadness and then somehow it doesn't all feel so bad afterwards.

Baggs.... There are no words that can make any difference just now....but I hope you'll feel the love and care and prayers of us all.. coming from all over the country and maybe just maybe it will bring you a little strength to cope with this second whammy for you and your darling daughters. Xx

Lona Thu 06-Oct-22 10:20:13

Baggs, I'm so sorry to hear about your eldest daughter, you must be worried out of your mind.
All I can do is send my very best wishes for her recovery. You will be there with her for support and love and nothing is stronger than a mother's love.

soop Thu 06-Oct-22 11:14:55

Dear Ann, you have been through a nightmarish ordeal. I am so sorry that I haven't managed to fully catch up with all the latest news in our kitchen. Not only has the shock of Baggs' daughter knocked the stuffing out of us, but another good friend is also having a hell of a time since her husband recently had his foot amputated. Yet another, here in the village, has had an abdominal aortic aneurysm urgently operated on.

We are to have our booster jabs in thirty minutes. I shall return this afternoon.

Auntieflo Thu 06-Oct-22 11:36:05

Hugs, prayers and love to Baggs and her daughter.

Also sorry to hear that Ann has had a difficult time.

kittylester Thu 06-Oct-22 11:51:55

Hi Lona! Lovely to see you.

Along with sending best wishes to baggs and her family, I'm hoping that Ann had a good night.

dragonfly46 Thu 06-Oct-22 12:52:48

Thinking of you and your DD today Baggs!

soop Thu 06-Oct-22 14:55:38

Baggs will be touched by your supportive messages. I do not use a laptop. I do not own a smart phone. I rely on our ancient computer for sending and receiving news. I usually log on at 11:am and close down at 5:pm. Any further news from Baggs will be shared with you lovely lot just as soon as I can do so.

I see that we have several new visitors. Welcome!

Jabs went well. Have fed a very peckish Sweetie Pie who, with a full tummy, lolls on her special door mat.

I have a pet portrait to prepare for posting. I also need to sketch the third attempt of another pussy cat. Fingers crossed.

It’s been a bright day here in SE Essex, our foxes have been sunning themselves on the lawn (I do not feed them, my neighbour over the road does, they just live in my garden)

Visited our local farm shop only to find it has opened a lovely little cafe, so I will definitely make the effort to visit more often (it is in walking distance but situated on a busy A road, so driving is far safer and practical)

(((Hugs))) to all our kitchen friends in need of x

Lona Thu 06-Oct-22 15:57:16

Hi kitty Lovely to see you too although I'm sorry to read that you've not been well (in hospital?) for the last three weeks. I hope you make a speedy recovery, but don't rush it as you always seem so so busy! Xx

soop Thu 06-Oct-22 15:58:20

GrannyGravy I like foxes. One creature that we do not have visit our garden. Deer and Sweetie Pie (the feral cat) are frequent visitors. Sweetie Pie has been in the utility room for almost all of the day.

I also enjoy visiting farm shops. How lovely to have one reasonably close to home with the bonus of a little cafe.

The "Tree Man" has arrived. We have several trees in need of a serious attention. as the overgrowth needs reducing.

Back to the drawing board. smile

It's a lovely day here in Somerset... I've washed 3 loads...all dried outside. I love the smell of washing that's dried in the fresh air. I'm just back from washing the duvet too... The local garage has one of those DIY industrial size washing machines in the corner of its site. I spent the 45 minutes it took to wash in the local hospice charity shop that has been a

I caught him about to disappear under DH’s shed.

Unfortunately all the decking is going soon to be replaced by slabs so the foxy families will be looking to move

Try again

DD was taken into theatre at about 2.30 this afternoon.

I give up, it appears that I am unable to post photos at the moment

Oh Baggs I shall be holding you both in my heart and prayers ❤️

Grandmadinosaur Thu 06-Oct-22 16:21:34

Sending lots of prayers and love for your DD and your family. Baggs stay strong for each other ??

Naughtyneine Thu 06-Oct-22 16:24:15

Oops...dog jumped up...
A wonderful find since we moved here. I've had some fabulous bargains...dresses etc from Seasalt..Joules..White Stuff..Joe Brown etc. I know it sounds daft but people do dress differently here and I'm finding myself drawn towards.. 'the look'. That said my latest bargains are a beautiful pair of Gabor suede boots...brand new. It would have been very rude to leave them I feel. Today I picked up a cashmere sweater in a very autumnal shade of soft orange. I don't like the thought of wearing a jumper yet ( I'm sitting in the garden in a short sleeved dress and flip flops) but it's nice to know it's there when I need it. I've popped some warm Irish wheaten rolls and a chunk of cheese on the side...I discovered a can of Guinness in the larder and even though I could probably do with a tonic it's a wee bit too early in the day....so baking with it seemed like a good idea. I'll just have to look pale and interesting for a bit longer.

I’m behind with Gransnet and don’t visit the kitchen so I’ve only just seen your news, Baggs

Sending my very best wishes and hopes for a positive outcome following your DD’s operation. There’s no more I can add to what has been said by others. You are in my thoughts.
