I’ve been waiting for years for this news but finally it’s in, my eldest is expecting a new baby in the new year.
My eldest was born in ‘82 so you can imagine I’d almost given up hope of any but surrogate grandchildren coming my way.
I’m allowed to choose what to be called as it’s the first but I’m happy to go with whatever (within reason). In my head I’m crying with joy “I’m going to be a granny” so probably should be that ?‍♀️

How lovely and exciting! Such a great feeling! I have 6 grandchildren now. 3 live abroad .I chose Nana , the other grandmothers to the children chose Nanny and Granny .Grandma of grandmother sounded a bit too formal. Enjoy !

Hurrah! flowers
Excellent news and every good wish for the parents. Settled parents are often able to take the changes in family life more confidently so there is every chance they will feel more able to share their new family. They seem to have waited till the pregnancy is well established before telling you, so with luck, the next few months will be plain sailing.

Have fun!

Best thing ever, being a grandmother. All the fun with less responsibility. I have always been "nanny Ann".

Congratulations?.
I became a Grandma earlier this year to a beautiful little girl.
This my second Grandaughter, unfortunately I no longer see my first Grand child but now have another chance to be a Grandma. I absolutely love it!
Enjoy every minute?

Congratulations. dogsmother. I recognise that thrill when you get that joyful news. Thirty two years since I first felt it. And all over again, a year ago when that first DGD told me I was going to be a great granny. Do, please be a 'granny'. It was good enough for the Queen and her mother and so is an honourable title!
