Do we really need an “I’ve had my Autumn Covid Booster” sticker?

There may just be some people who had to be persuaded to go because they are very elderly and were unwilling or confused. They might have liked it, or as I said up thread there is a need to encourage uptake given the rise in Covid cases and the winter predicted to bring more pressure on the NHS. why knock an initiative which can't have cost too much.

Wyllow, someone had to design it, someone had to approve it, someone had to send it to the printers (none in house these days), someone had to receive it back from the printers and someone had to distribute it out to NHS outlets. I’d be interested to know how much it did cost.

I got a little printed card with my name, DoB, NHS number, date and vaccine batch number on <smug smirk>

I didn’t get anything when I had my booster. I’m assuming that Boots have contacted my GP?

I got the card too. Na, na, nanana!! Aggie you can have mine as Blossoming has declined it. Looking closely at the design is the crown supposed to be the virus and why is part of the heart missing. It must mean something.

You seem to be the only one 25Avalon, you could auction it on EBay if aggie changes her mind.

No sticker, no little card, no paperwork at all for my booster, but it is faithfully recorded on my on line NHS record should I wish to queue for hours to take a trip abroad. In fact, the 'jabber' at the pharmacy spent more time putting all the details on line than in sticking the needle in my arm. She admitted to being bored stiff.

I would absolutely wear it. I also wear my "I Voted" sticker each year.

Had to Google it didn’t I ? There have been previous stickers and ones for flu, so we’ve all missed out! They are issued by the UK Health Security Agency and are available free of charge to order but only to Health Practitioners I’m afraid! It says they come in sheets of 55 so if you order 2 sheets you will have 110 stickers - surely GP’s and other health officials can do the maths?

I would be glad to just find a vaccination hub that is open near me. The local one seems to have closed, although I am driving past it this week and I will double check, by driving up to the door and seeing if anyone is there, but otherwise.........

M0nica you should be able to book online at www.nhs.uk/get-vaccination or you can phone 119 foc. Or you can find a walk-in vaccination site on www.nhs.uk/vaccine-walk-in.

The online booking shows those nearest you and then you can book. This time dh and I were in and out of the vaccination centre in 5 minutes. Last time it was over 2 hours.

A trivial issue but anything that drives up the percentage vaccinated is a good thing. Covid has not gone away even if some politicians like to pretend it has.

25Avalon These have been tried, but show that our nearest drop in centre is nearly 25 miles away.

There used to be one 10 miles away. This is the one I am going to physically check this week, but it seems to be no longer listed.

M0nica that is awful. Could they not find a more local pharmacy otherwise people are not going to bother - a sticker won’t encourage them.

I got no sticker or little card. I asked for the details of my 6th Covid jab to be added to the card for my 5th, which the nurse was happy to do.

We are supposed to wait here in Wales for an appointment letter. My friend had her letter and went to an enormous empty agricultural building for her jab. At least twelve nurses , she said , and only five or six customers. And no sticker .

I agree. As a previous NHS employee I saw so much waste of funds on trivia like this.

It seems clear though its given out to promote uptake (as another poster said up thread).

25Avalon I was relyingon a friend who was using the on-line service. I used the phone and have appointments in a local town, 5 miles for us, 10 for our friend. As she is disabled we are giving her a lift. I suspect otherwise we could have got a more local one for her.

It rather suggests that the online site is not properly updated.

I didn't get a sticker but I deserved something. The nurse was lovely but the person checking my details was a battle axe. She glared at means said Name! When I was getting the jab she stuck the little card in my hand and shouted Next! I hadn't even time to get my sleeve back on and someone was waiting for my chair.

My granddaughter got a sticker and a lollipop. As I was getting both Covid and flu jabs I asked if I’d get 2 stickers and 2 lollipops. No, said the jabber, you just get 2 sore arms!
