Do we really need an “I’ve had my Autumn Covid Booster” sticker?

I’ve just come from our local Covid vaccination centre where I was given a small sticker saying I’d had the jab? Do we really need this as Adults? How long are we going to wear the sticker for? And why this unnecessary cost to the NHS? What do others think?

Bilboben Wed 12-Oct-22 11:21:13

You can say no thank you. ?

25Avalon Wed 12-Oct-22 11:22:56

Dh did.

Yes we do. Take up is dangerously low. Pick on the NHS for something else! Good to spend a little to encourage others to come forward.

Have you only just realised we’ve been treated like children for years…. in this nanny state we’ve become. I refer you to take away coffee cups telling you it ‘hot’ . There’s a bloody surprise !!

Neilspurgeon0 Wed 12-Oct-22 11:35:34

I didn’t get one either, should I feel aggrieved !?

Does a tiny sticker you don’t know you are going to get really encourage? The largest number of cases is amongst 70+ who aren’t going to be bothered about a sticker! I can see using it as an emoji for an advertising campaign makes sense but I’ve not seen much advertising tbh. Dh had a letter which was probably the best communication. I didn’t but the info was good for me too.

I didn't get one either (though I did get a flu shot at the same time) I'd have preferred a lollipop to a sticker though, I have to say.

vampirequeen Wed 12-Oct-22 12:00:54

I want one!

DH got one when he had his first jab, but I didn't, and I was gutted.

I would have also liked a lolly afterwards but apparently they don't give them out these days because sugar is bad for you.

We're in different health authorities so some must be giving them out and others not.

I want one ! I didn’t get anything to say I’d had my booster , I have paper notes recording my other jabs , I have them laminated

If you have the NHS App all your vaccinations are recorded on that.

Twopence Wed 12-Oct-22 12:12:08

They stuck mine on the vaccination record card and though I was careful trying to peel it off it removed some of the info.!!!

Theoddbird Wed 12-Oct-22 12:19:40

I was given a little card with my name on and type of vaccine I was given...

I laminated my original card too; it has details of my first two jabs along with batch numbers, dates etc. I realise the records will be held electronically but try locating that when some random official asks you to prove it!

However, I wouldn't have wanted a sticker, just evidence to put with my previous card that I was up to date with my jabs.

Stickers remind me of a child visiting the dentists to be honest

We didn't get one, I want one to stick my size 38 boob and display it on FaceBook like some daft bats I know.
What a waste of money.
I was asked by the young male Dr. giving the jabs if I wanted my husband with me or if would I like a break from him.
If I'd been 50 years younger I might have thought I was being propositioned but at my age, my prize was to be knocked out all weekend by the covid inaction he administered.envy

Yammy Wed 12-Oct-22 12:28:58

injection

Nannina Wed 12-Oct-22 12:30:40

I was only offered one when I had my first vaccine and just said no thank you but I’ve not seen them since. Perhaps it was a way of encouraging others to follow suit but it felt like the ‘I’ve been brave at the dentist’ stickers I had as a child. Perhaps your area had a lot left so are using them up

GrammyGrammy Wed 12-Oct-22 12:31:35

Perhaps they thought, as you've fallen for their whole deception in the first place, that you'd like a 'well done' sticker; like a child? Ungrateful!

Fernhillnana Wed 12-Oct-22 12:46:23

No.

HeavenLeigh Wed 12-Oct-22 13:17:02

??? a sticker

nipsmum Wed 12-Oct-22 13:21:13

What a ridiculous waste of time and money. No wonder the NHS is on so much financial difficulty. You can always say no thank you I don't need one.

Treetops05 Wed 12-Oct-22 13:53:32

My husband went today, and got no sticker...he is quite upset wink

Thisismyname1953 Wed 12-Oct-22 14:20:33

I had my 4th dose at the end of September. No sticker but details went to the NHS app on my phone . I’ve now put them in my apple wallet so I can find them easily at the airport tomorrow morning. A
Free 3 years I’m finally going on holiday .?

AshleysGran Wed 12-Oct-22 14:21:20

I have a badge! You can buy metal "I've had my jab" badges from Amazon. For the first jab, I bought a few, and gave them to friends who asked me for them. It's not about showing off how brave we've been, it's to encourage others to get their jabs.

Mallin Wed 12-Oct-22 14:21:21

Blossoming. That’s what I have, too. But nothing to show that they also gave me a flu jab at the same time.

Gabrielle56 Wed 12-Oct-22 14:28:53

Agree pathetic childish idea! And exactly my thoughts? How much per 100 are they being fleeced by some company owned probably by some minister's sister in law!!!! Everyone should refuse to accept we're not bloody toddlers ?!!!

Noname Wed 12-Oct-22 14:30:23

I got one and stuck it on my handbag. I put a lighthearted post on social media about it but almost caused an uproar with friends who hadn’t received one! ?
