Do we really need an “I’ve had my Autumn Covid Booster” sticker?

I’ve just come from our local Covid vaccination centre where I was given a small sticker saying I’d had the jab? Do we really need this as Adults? How long are we going to wear the sticker for? And why this unnecessary cost to the NHS? What do others think?

I think I've got bigger things to worry about.

Blossoming Mon 10-Oct-22 17:05:52

I didn’t get one ?

I want one ! I didn’t get anything to say I’d had my booster , I have paper notes recording my other jabs , I have them laminated

I and so sorry Blossoming. Would you like mine, it still has some sticky, only worn a short time?

I wondered whether it was in case you had a funny turn on the way home...

I want one as well ? “snot fair” as the littluns used to say….

You are right: it is very childish and condescending. I would have refused it or else thrown it in the bin .

We had ours in September. We weren't offered a sticker, if I had been I would have declined.

Jaxjacky Mon 10-Oct-22 17:34:54

They were doing that here for one of the previous jabs, I declined. But I deserve one every time I go to the dentist definitely ?

MawtheMerrier Mon 10-Oct-22 17:36:34

Well,if we do, I didn’t get one.

I did try for a lollipop but no luck.

They are worried about the low uptake of the Autumn booster in the over 65s. There are many unclaimed doses of the vaccine. I guess they think by putting stickers on people it may drum up more custom.

I'm going to complain, I didn't get a sticker.....

Or a lolly

DH just had a text from our GP asking if he’s had his booster and to respond to the message.
He had his 5th at a vaccination local hub last month. Why isn’t it on his medical record, he had to provide his NHS number.?
Plus, as usual, the text he sent in answer couldn’t be sent. We e mailed the surgery in the end and apparently will expect a reply within 2 weeks!

Here you go, this is what you are missing! It’s about 1” x 1”.

crazyH Mon 10-Oct-22 20:15:22

I didn’t get one, but I have kept my appointment cards …..

We are not infants who need a gold star.

Struck me from the O/P

Spread the word.

There wasn't one where I was, but if there was a "please wear one to encourage others" type poster maybe OK?

25Avalon Mon 10-Oct-22 20:43:34

It’s quite small. An older person whose eyesight isn’t as good probably couldn’t read it anyway without getting too close!

Millie22 Mon 10-Oct-22 21:10:07

It reminds me of the stickers children get from the dentist after a check-up.

So no thanks.

ginny Mon 10-Oct-22 21:12:55

I didn’t get one either and don’t know anyone who has. Wouldn’t have stuck one on anyway.

Blossoming Mon 10-Oct-22 21:33:04

No thanks 25Avelon, I think you should offer it to aggie as she’s expressed a wish to own one.

I got a little printed card with my name, DoB, NHS number, date and vaccine batch number on <smug smirk>
