Do we really need an “I’ve had my Autumn Covid Booster” sticker?

We received written record, with the date, batch etc. Good enough.

If stickers encourage others - good enough as well.

We were offered a lolly !

I had my booster last Monday and my flu vaccination. I had to stand outside the Medical Centre on the pavement for over an hour as the waiting-room was jam-packed five minutes after the centre opened at 9a m. This with one nurse and five doctors only vaccinating the 65 and over age-group in a town that has a total of 4500 inhabitants.

DH who has just recovered from pneumonia couldn't stand in the cold and damp (it wasn't raining, but was what any Scot would call " a right raw day", so he went home again, and made an appointment for yesterday. They had run out of Covid vaccine and could not get any more, so he got his flu vaccination and will have to find a Covid centre that has vaccine, or can get it if he wants the booster (which he does).

No-one offered us stickers, but on Monday the manager of the Co-op next door to the Medical Centre sent a member of his staff out to offer us a choice of Christmas biscuits that had just come in while we were queueing.

Oh please, no! Now that it's becoming clear from Big Pharma that vaxed people catch covid more often, I'd say having a booster is nothing to boast about.

I got a sticker for my first jab at a hospital but not for follow-ups. A sticker is nice but not necessary and maybe the NHS should save money by not producing them but OTOH I suppose it could be counted as publicity for the cause.

I wore my sticker after politely accepting it, after all a smile and a thank you cost nothing. The people who made the decision to produce them are probably not those on the front line as it were, so I wouldn't challenge them about it.

Had my booster AND flu’ jab on the same day. That night and the following day I thought I was dying . I’ve had Covid TWICE and this was worse. My partner is having his Covid and flu’ a week apart. Sticker ? It needed a government health warning attached !

Well - I didn't get a sticker - but really, does it matter, as nobody's forcing anyone to wear it?

tictacnana, I felt awful after the flu jab - but fine following the booster (just a sore arm and slightly under the weather for a day). We're all different in our reactions but still, I'll never understand why people have both at once!

I would suggest people look at the new Pfizer information. They had done no tests on people!

Dory, wrong information. Pfizer did not have information on transmission reduction before release to market.

My surgery gave out sweets. I haven't had Love Hearts for years. Not entirely sure why they were given. I enjoyed them though.

Sorry not having it's not worth the risk. Had injection like pain to both kidneys, one straight after the other, high temperature, uncontrollable shaking all over and vastly increased bladder activity with the 2 AZ vaccines.
Third one was Pfizer which was just a temperature.
But 2 or 3 days after each vaccine I passed out on the floor face down with AZ. Just a scratch on my hand from garden path so I was lucky. With the Pfizer I fell backwards in the toilet and felt the cistern bang into my back. Have no recollection of falling or feeling faint.
I've never fainted in my life before or since. I'm very stable on my feet and haven't fallen over since.
I can't risk it again as I could be driving or crossing a road next time.

I did not get a sticker or a sweet. Think I am going to sulk.

It reminds me of the stickers children get from the dentist after a check-up.

Exactly what I was thinking. On the other hand, many of our generations
could do with a sticker saying "I've been brave at the dentist" because we have so often needed to be!
I won't be upset if I am not given a sticker after my covid jab, though.

I got one when I had my second vaccination last year - didn't really pay much attention to it as I was hyperventilating a bit (needlephobia). I can see giving children a sticker (lollipop would be even better) after an injection but its more than a little patronising to give them to adults.

I love stickers

I would have preferred some sort of physical record . Previous jabs I had a card with name of vaccine, date and batch number. This time just a casual comment of 'oh we havn't done those for ages. Check on line in a day or two it might be there' Didn't inspire me with much confidence.

I was given a NHS card with my Moderna booster on 21st September, so whoever said they hadn't 'done one of those for ages' was out of line! Definitely no sticker though!

My online NHS record shows all my immunisations in the past two years, including both the Covid booster and Flu vacc which I had last month. There is also a separate record for Covid jabs only.

PS I've just noticed - inside my phone case - the sticker I was given on 16th January 2021 when I had my first Covid jab.

I won’t be getting a sticker because I’ve decided not to have the booster since the CEO of Pfizer said that it didn’t stop transmission and they knew it could cause heart problems. I will have my flu jab though - perhaps I’ll get a sticker for that. I love a sticker!

Fwiw, I keep vaccinating people and forgetting to offer them a sticker. Should I be congratulated or condemned? ?
