Good Morning Everyone,
Dark, cold but dry here in brackley this morning.
Today the first of three hospital visits , this one to the community hospital in Bicester for a Iron Infusion , which is mid morning , I will then go back into the town and do my usual routine ,and return home on a mid afternoon bus .
Take Care,
Mick

Grammaretto Tue 11-Oct-22 05:51:06

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Dark and quiet outside.
Good luck with the iron infusion Mick

When I had iron injections, it left a metallic taste for ages but gave me an energy boost.

I made a mistake and the new boiler will be installed today not yesterday shock.
DGC are coming to visit too. It's going to be a busy day.
I'll come back and read your news.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 11-Oct-22 05:52:03

Good morning Mick and all who follow, too dark to tell what the weather is doing.
Hope your day goes well Mick and your appointment isn’t too uncomfortable.
MrOops is taking MissOops into hospital at 6am for her knee op, so I’m up early, I can’t go in with them so I will stay here until I can visit this afternoon. 1 adult is allowed in, when she had her first knee done last year we couldn’t visit at all, but now 1 adult can go in from 2-8.

Apart from that it’s a cleaning day to distract me.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 11-Oct-22 06:17:04

Just went outdoors

First Frost of the year…….

Greyduster Tue 11-Oct-22 06:17:24

Good morning Michael and all GNs. No idea what the day is doing weather wise as it’s still dark, and cold! The plumber made good progress yesterday, the boiler is installed but still a lot to do before I have heating and, more importantly, hot water. I have a GP appointment this morning and then I promised by GS at the weekend that I would make a chicken and mushroom pie for him and his dad, so that will occupy some of the afternoon.
For those of you who got the impression that our premature baby was my grandson, he isn’t so I’m sorry if I mislead you. He is my nephew’s first grandchild, and we are close (he refers to me as “the matriarch of our herd”!) so I feel invested in this baby. He would have been a fifth great grandchild for my dear late sister who my nephew misses sorely at the moment. Anyway, it’s been heartwarming that so many on here have been rooting for our little lad.
Fingers crossed for your daughter today, Oops!??
Have the best day that you can, folks.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 11-Oct-22 06:38:07

Morning all from a dark West Oxfordshire . After my usual breakfast, I have to go onto a bland diet until tomorrow. White chicken, white bread, no fruit. I have my covid and flu boosters this afternoon. Otherwise, a quiet day.

brook2704 Tue 11-Oct-22 06:39:39

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark and I think we’ve a dry day forecast
Im awake early as we have the DGC here for a sleepover and I can already hear DGS awake. They’ve been asked not to get up before 7am so will see!
We’ll hopefully get them out somewhere today for a run around and some fresh air instead of staying in
Hoping all goes well for your DD today oops
Take care all whatever the day brings ?

grandMattie Tue 11-Oct-22 06:41:29

Hurried good morning from a clear, dark E Kent. The moon is waning but still very bright in the western sky,
In a hurry this morning as I have an 8 o’clock appointment and need to eat as well as get my DL washed, dressed and fed before I go out.
Delighted about the preemie, hope MD copes with the day.
Carpe diem. ????

Urmstongran Tue 11-Oct-22 06:44:02

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from a dark south Manchester. Sunrise is an hour away yet but it seems mild enough and it’s dry. Oh, the 6:30am into Liverpool Lime Street has just pulled into the train station opposite, lit up like the proverbial in the dark. Plus, looking across to the Pennines I can see the winking lights of a plane coming in to land at Manchester airport, only 10 miles from here - but luckily we are not on the flight path.

I have a pedicure booked late morning at the salon over the road. Nothing else on the cards today. Himself is still snoozing. He groaned when he asked me what time it was when I was getting up. He thinks I’m mad to be up ‘at this hour’ but once I’m awake that’s it!

Hope your daughter’s op is uneventful today Oops. As you say, at least you can visit this time.
?

Beechnut Tue 11-Oct-22 06:44:13

Good morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dark and I’ve no idea on the weather.

You must be relieved it’s boiler installation day at last Grammaretto.

I’m going swimming this morning and then back to do some homeworking.

Hope hospital appointments and ops go well for you all today ?

BlueBalou Tue 11-Oct-22 06:48:47

Good morning everyone, it’s a chilly start here but I don’t think there’s a frost.
Off to crafts this morning and WI this afternoon.
DDog has dog walker first thing so she’ll be happy.
I hope the day goes well for everyone x

Grandmadinosaur Tue 11-Oct-22 06:55:06

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. Just getting light but is a dry day.

Yesterday I was called upon to look after baby GD. The rest of the family have come down with a sickness bug. She was no trouble at all but my I’ve forgotten how tiring it is having her for most of the day. I think GS is feeling better but can’t return to school until tomorrow with there 48 hour policy. So if I’m not called upon I shall go to coffee morning. Even if mum and dad are feeling better I might offer to take GD this afternoon for a while so they can rest a little.

Good luck to all with medical doings today.

Ashcombe Tue 11-Oct-22 07:10:43

Good morning from a chilly but fine start in Torbay.

Good luck to all with medical procedures, especially Mick and MissOops. Such an early start, Oopsadaisy1! Happy news about your great nephew, although poignant, too, regarding his late grandmother, Greyduster.

My late awakening this morning is because I was late to bed after a long and slightly tedious Theatre Committee meeting, our last before the AGM later this month.

Wishing everyone something about which to smile today. ?????

Feelingmyage55 Tue 11-Oct-22 07:21:19

Good morning from a chilly and very windy north of Scotland. I’m off out very early for the booster and flu jab. I’ll do my grocery shop and have a quick coffee before tackling the green tomatoes. I don’t think they will turn now so will turn them into chutney. Then a quiet afternoon with my book.
Michael I hope today your infusion goes well and the rest of your appointments.
Marydoll ? a medal for keeping on keeping on. GM. Take care of yourself too. Everyone apologies for singling these three friends our. Best wishes to you all on this autumn morning.

kittylester Tue 11-Oct-22 07:21:46

Good morning all from a brightening North Leicestershire..

I had the most dreadful sleep last so I aim to catch up this morning.

Thank you for all your good wishes for our wedding anniversary which was unlike any other we have celebrated.

baubles Tue 11-Oct-22 07:27:28

Good morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.

I’m feeling slightly groggy as yesterday we swapped the duvet for the winter one and I was too warm. No pleasing me.

Daft dug’s visit to the vet yesterday left my purse considerably lighter. The lovely young (they all seem to be young!) woman aspirated the cyst but reckons it’s most likely harmless. We have antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds, hopefully that will do the trick.

I’m working today for four hours, apparently I have to set my objectives for the next quarter. Can I put ‘just get through the days’ do you think?

Good luck to everyone having medical treatments.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Wyllow3 Tue 11-Oct-22 07:33:36

Morning from S Yorks

The sun is not quite risen but its a clear sky, which is nice as didn't get out yesterday fresh air wise; although I had a lovely chat with hairdresser , and an even lovelier long chat with DS in the evening.

Today it's the shingles jab mid morning and a zoom this afternoon. Put off this weeks Big Shop till tomorrow I think.

My thoughts are with your family today Oopsadaisy1 and hope the infusion goes well Mick.

Thanks for the clarity, Greyduster I hope all is done and dusted soon I hate "home invasions" so I hope your boiler installation is smooth too Grammaretto

Have best times psssobile with family, may jabs go smoothly, and bad nights caught up in with snoozes.

Wyllow3 Tue 11-Oct-22 07:36:43

Possibly no, baubles, how about, "Maintain a steady and reliable presence as a positive force within my team"... wink

monk08 Tue 11-Oct-22 07:42:09

Good morning all from the Black country, cloudy at the moment but looks like it may brighten up.
DH has is flu jab today, will decide what we want to do afterwards.
Our friends operation has been cancelled again, hopefully he won't have to wait to long.
Best wishes for those having medical procedures.
Enjoy your Tuesday and may you all find some ?.

Marydoll Tue 11-Oct-22 07:55:57

Good morning from a cloudy and chilly Glasgow, thank goodness the heating has come one. I'm feeling the cold badly at the moment and DH is the opposite, it's a constant battle, like the remote control, he is trying to maintain control of the Hive! He forgets, I'm IT savvy, I have remote access! ?

DH has the optician"s this morning, so I shall have to drive him to Paisley. I shall have a bit of a mooch on my own, in the few shops left in the town centre. It's so sad to see, the demise of what was once a busy and thriving shopping venue, now a victim of the out of town centres.
There is an antique/junk shop, which requires a rummage through!
Then it will be fish and chips for lunch in our favourite Italian chippie, that saves me cooking a proper dinner. Win, win!

Home then for a rest and most certainly I will fall asleep. Its so disconcerting.
I apologise for the negative tone in my posts recently. The reality is that my latest diagnosis, has given me such a knock. I think I am indestructible, but have discovered I'm actually not!?
It has left me feeling quite low, because there are no interventions left.

Yesterday, I did a little filing in the parish house, I'm trying to do just a little every day. I was in on my own and the two, very large dogs were lying at the front door dozing. When I decided to go home, they decided they were coming with me. For some strange reason, they have taking a liking to me, especially the baby, who is almost as big as me! They think I am their pal! Do they not know, that I am wary of dogs, after being attacked by one as a child?
I devised a plan, where I would work backwards throught the church and go out that way.
Unfortunately, I opened an external chuch door, only to find it wouldn't close again, because it was warped. I pulled so hard, the handle became loose!
Why is my life never simple? ?
Luckily I found the gardner, a big, strong chap, who came to my rescue.
His granddaughter is the bold Dolie's best friend, so we had a lovely chat of course!

I hope Miss Oops' op goes well and your infusion is trouble free, Mick. It shouldn't take long and hopefully you will feel more energised.
Best wishes for any others, who have medical appointments today.

Kalu, I read a police report about a rowdy party at a but n ben in Perthshire, I hope it had nothing to do with you! ?
Please don't be coming back with tales of a visit to the House of Bruar!!!

Wishing you all the best of days.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 11-Oct-22 07:57:41

Morning all

Mick I hope your iron infusion goes well today.

Oopsadaisy the same for your DD knees operation, I hope she is up and about soon.

There was a frost in the roofs this morning, the sky is now clear and blue and we are forecast a dry sunny, but crisp day.

Bed changing here, then some ironing. I need to buy some more onions for pickling or the AC will riot ?

kittylester I sympathise with your bad nights sleep, I seem to being going through a phase of insomnia at the moment, I try not to nap during the day so that I am shattered by bedtime but it doesn’t seem to be working at the moment.

Have a good day folks ?‍♀️?

Gingster Tue 11-Oct-22 08:02:12

Good morning all . Chilly but bright here in Essex,

I visited ‘my lovely girl’ yesterday. (Who I looked after when her dm died). Her baby will be a year old next week. He’s lovely! Very smiley and has now been walking for two months.

Dd will pop in for coffee after school run and I have Bridge club this afternoon.

Good luck today Mick

Hope all goes well for Miss-oops.

Wishing you all a ‘good’ day whatever you’re doing. ?

ShazzaKanazza Tue 11-Oct-22 08:07:40

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It’s going to be another lovely day.

I’m going to get my uncle his shopping and picking Mum up to come with me to see him in Bridlington. I haven’t seen them both for three weeks so there will lots to chat about.
Mum will be very eager to know how my holiday went spending time with my Dad and Step Mum in Menorca. I know she wishes she’d stayed with him all those years ago but if she’d stayed with him I wouldn’t have had my other 5 half siblings in my life.

Hoping all hospital appointments and operations go well today.

Wishing everyone a lovely day. Special thoughts to those coping with daily stress. ??

Pittcity Tue 11-Oct-22 08:13:31

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A cold morning as the heating bumped on for the first time. DH remarked that I was being very extravagant with heating and a new bar of soap in the shower!!!
Volunteering in the charity shop as it's Tuesday.
Love to all ? x

harrigran Tue 11-Oct-22 08:18:03

Good morning from a dry NE where the moon is still quite visible.
Heating engineer will be here in ten minutes to service the boiler.
SIL was intending to be here but not sure he will make it in time as he has to travel in the rush hour.
Sorted some cupboards yesterday, I was looking for an old type phone in case of power cuts, can't imagine where it is, probably the attic.
I appear to have lost a cashmere jumper, spent days looking for that, hope I didn't take it to the cleaners and have forgotten about it.
Back later to read posts.
