OK before you all pile in on me let me explain!

This is not my kind of programme but I know it is very popular and it is not compulsory so I watch something else, no problem with that, my local newspaper prints several articles about Strictly every day, again I don't have to read them so skip past them. What is really getting to me is the presenters on my local radio station seem obsessed with it. Every other item is about Strictly!

I listen to this station because it is the only local "talk" station rather than playing music all the time. I like to hear local news stories, local weather and traffic news. What I am getting is Strictly, local news story, Strictly, traffic news, Strictly, news bulletin, Strictly!!!!! It is driving me mad

Will now don my tin hat and hide behind the sofa!!

Although I enjoy Strictly, I do wish Anton would speak English, and not comment as in "Oooh - you did an aaaah and then a whoosh and then an oooh". What on earth is he talking about? Yet apparently he won an award last night for the best judge.

My DH is an "AAA" lister in my eyes too but I don't expect others to think that! Your friend is Tony Adams' friend , that doesn't make him everyone's idea of an A lister!!!

As with ALL. London centric rubbish it assumes the world begins and ends in Essex!!! It don't and I for one northerner find it embarrassing for him to carry on like an eejit hoping to gain laughs! Do the job Anton no more than the odd joke but no less than what you're paid for ...twerp

For me it brings happiness and glamour to a country that is full of worry and misery at the moment. If you don't like it, don't watch it or pay any attention to programmes that give updates.

The programme itself is enough for me. I don't need updates or the follow on programme.

It's a lot of beautiful nonsense and skill. Let's enjoy it.

albertina you are so right.

*Paperbackwriter" "Woke nonsense". You mean giving formerly unrepresented people a chance to participate? What is wrong with that?

I got a little bored with Strictly and didn't watch it much for a couple of years. So I have really enjoyed this series so far. The opening choreography is especially good and the Dave Arch Band is so talented. Perhaps those who are fed up with the show should give it a little rest.

I agree that there is probably too much chatter about it on TV and elsewhere.

I’d love to see a Dave Archer/singers show-they are SO good!
I agree with previous poster who commented on dancers being “thrown about”. It’s supposed to be dancing NOT gymnastics!

I sort of have to agree that some of the dances lack artistry and refinement because they are so busy concentrating on lifts and death defying stunts (well almost!) What I would like to see is a bit more subtlety and nuance so that not every daring move has to elicit a cheer or a scream. "Throwing about" needs to be done in moderation.
By comparison with previous shows, the last few years' worth of dances seem high on tricks but sometimes low on elegance and refinement. I think Len and Darcey were more traditionalists, and maybe that used to set the tone too. I don't want lots of pretty pretty stuff and I like modern dance, but I hope the gymnastics don't start to run away with the performance.
Having said that, occasionally a contestant like Rose comes along who covers it all.

I thought Hamza's dance on Saturday was high on tricks/throws/lifts one after the other, and low on artistry so I couldn't vote for him.

I thought that in the early Strictly days, lifts were not allowed, only in one or two specific dances.

Craig often had a run in with Brendan, when the latter did illicit lifts or his partner’s feet weren’t in contact with the floor.

But now lifts seem to take place in various dances, and nothing is said.
