Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from a dark and cold North Leicestershire.

I have been awake since about 3 am so hope to have a snooze when DH goes out later on.

Sending gentle hugs to everyone

Good morning from a damp E Kent.
Glad all went well yesterday, Mick and all is in place for next week.
Had only one visitor yesterday, they do tire my DL out - I have decreed that she should have only two a day! She also spends a great deal of time on the phone; business/pleasure.
I visited my Portuguese neighbour with a bagful of quinces; she does love her membrillo. I also cooked and sieved the remaining quinces to make jelly here. I’ve got 5 pints of liquid; it’ll make a lot of jelly.
Spanish today and finish the jelly; I must call a friend to beg for help with my printer that won’t connect to my Wifi. A problem..
Have a gentle day. Carpe diem ????

grandMattie Thu 13-Oct-22 06:07:48

We would have been married 45 years today. ?

loopyloo Thu 13-Oct-22 06:12:52

Morning Mick. Glad the trip to the Churchill went OK and good luck with the bus ride today.
We are seeing DgC off to school then collecting the harp from same school then coffee in town picking up order from Argos. Battery operated lights, plug in heaters and solar lights for garden path.
Then tidying up. Place is chaos.

loopyloo Thu 13-Oct-22 06:16:46

Talking about Carpe Diem. Looked it up. its Horace. Must read more about him.

FannyCornforth Thu 13-Oct-22 06:35:35

Mattie thanks ♥️

Good morning, all, from a cloudy but dry Torbay.

It’s good to know you’ll soon have your operation, Mick. I hope today's appointments go well.

Yesterday must have brought back some memories, grandMattie. I hope your printer problem is easily resolved. Also, that your DL has a mobile phone and isn’t running up a bill on your landline!

I’m intrigued by the reference to a harp, loopyloo! Do you play? When my DD1 was planning her wedding, she said having a harpist to play was her dream. It just so happened that a colleague and friend in my school could play and was happy to oblige!

Have the best day you can everyone! ?????

kittylester Thu 13-Oct-22 06:48:37

gm thanks

And I forgot to mention that today Wondrous Wolfie is 4!!

Greyduster Thu 13-Oct-22 06:54:27

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s still dark inSouth Yorkshire but dry and not too cold. Mick glad to hear things are falling into place for you now.
The new heating system kicked in. It’s going to take some time to get used to I think. And you know what sort of a day it’s going to be when you dunk you digestive in the first coffee of the day, it breaks in half and one half sinks to the bottom of the cup to sit there like sludge! Oh joy!
Yesterday’s test drive went very well, but I’m putting this whole car thing on a back burner for a bit now, much to son in law’s disappointment! He was enjoying it all enormously, but it won’t hurt him to chew the carpet for a bit?!
Nothing much planned for today. I will be watching my cousin’s funeral via video link this morning.
Have the best day you can folks.

Greyduster Thu 13-Oct-22 06:55:03

GrandMattie??

cornergran Thu 13-Oct-22 06:55:46

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, dry corner of Somerset.

Not sure how today will unfold, a wait and see day.

Hope todays appointment goes to plan mick, you’ve a lot to cope with. flowers for you grandmattie, look after yourself. Sounds as if the nights continue to be difficult kitty, sleep when you can.

My thoughts with everyone managing worry and sadness. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

ShazzaKanazza Thu 13-Oct-22 06:55:54

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.
Mick hope you get to relax later with all the running around you are doing.

grandMattie ? thoughts to you as always.

I’m up early as I gave to go and pick up Mum from Beverley and bring her through to the eye hospital at Hull Royal Infirmary. She needs a glaucoma check.

Yesterday I went to the Drs to ask the receptionist if they had my blood results from a month ago and thankfully they were all fine no action needed. I asked her just to check I’d booked my flu jab online properly. She said you don’t have any pending appointments. But I’ve booked it. She said we aren’t even offering them to your age group yet. I’m getting daily texts to book it with a link. So I did. I’m glad I asked or I’d have turned up for the appointment it let me book that wasn’t there. ?‍♀️

Have a lovely day everyone and virtual hugs for those suffering illness and stress??

Greyduster Thu 13-Oct-22 06:57:44

And a very 4th happy birthday to Wolfie!????. Where has the time gone, Kitty?

Urmstongran Thu 13-Oct-22 07:00:18

Here’s Matt.

Goodness, we have a real pea-souper here this morning! Good morning everyone from south Manchester. I can’t see past the train station’s pub roof over the road in this fog! Hope it clears soon as we are off at 9am to watch the harvest festival at L’il Miss’ infant school. She will look out for us in the audience as mum & dad will both be at work.

Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green ...
? ?

Later, I’m meeting two ex-colleagues from the local hospital up the road where we all used to work. I bumped into one of them by chance last week in the waiting room at the dentist. Serendipity! I’ve not seen either of them since I retired eight years ago this month. We will have a great catch up over our coffee I expect.

Hope you are feeling better in yourself today kitty. A good idea to go back to bed later. I assume you can tackle those stairs a bit easier now? Take your time. Good to hear you’ve got the date for your op now Mick. A poignant day for you dear grandMattie full of memories, some happy, some sad I expect.

Enjoy Thursday all who can. x

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 13-Oct-22 07:01:54

Morning all from a dark West Oxfordshire. Gosh, the laxative powder I was given in preparation for my colonoscopy was strong stuff! To put it mildly. My taxi arrives at 8.45 an the procedure is at 10 am. Eek. I am hoping that OH can pick me up early afternoon.

Urmstongran Thu 13-Oct-22 07:04:48

X posts kitty I cannot believe Wolfie is FOUR now‼️ ???

karmalady Thu 13-Oct-22 07:08:48

Good luck ladylfl. My experience is the preparation is the most uncomfortable part.

brook2704 Thu 13-Oct-22 07:17:52

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light. Yesterday was a lovely mild autumn day but the forecast is much colder today
gMattie ?
I’ve nothing planned today after a busy few days so I’m going to catch up on the housework and get outside into the garden if I can
Hoping all goes well today llfl
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Pittcity Thu 13-Oct-22 07:20:39

Good morning from rainy Colchester. It feels milder than yesterday though.
DH woke me at stupid o'clock when he went fishing. I will be using the empty to give the house a clean and change the bed. The tumble dryer and dehumidifier will be on....such a necessary extravagance. I'm so grateful that we can afford it and worry for those who can't.
Thinking of all your joys and sadnesses.
Love to all ? x

baubles Thu 13-Oct-22 07:34:42

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where there’s a little light frost on the car roof.

My relative is conscious and it appears that there is no damage to the brain, thank God. They have been struggling with depression for some time with little or no medical support. Hopefully they will now get the help they need.

gM ?

We are off to DS’s later, I’m looking forward to seeing the little ones.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Beechnut Thu 13-Oct-22 07:37:22

Good Morning from what was a misty Severnside. Mostly gone now.

Mattie ?
Some housework for me this morning, mainly the dining room. I’ll probably potter after and then I’ve a blood test this afternoon.

Have a good day everyone ?

GrannySomerset Thu 13-Oct-22 07:37:50

Very misty this morning, suspect my path laying team will not be arriving by 8.00 as threatened/planned. Better get up though just in case. Nothing else planned apart from providing tea but various admin tasks await. Need some of gMattie’s positive energy!
