Yes, sorry to hear this ?

Grandmabatty Fri 14-Oct-22 18:04:05

He was superb as Hagrid and as Cracker. I've watched him since Tutti Frutti and he had such presence.

Just one of his many wonderful roles, but the one that made him universally loved.

One of the few who stood up for JK too. So long Robbie, thanks for everything.

His agent of 40 years Belinda Wright said Coltrane died today and thanked the medical staff at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, near Falkirk in Scotland for their "care and diplomacy".

Much as I like Tom Burke, who plays Cormoran Strike in the ‘Strike’ series, I always feel when reading the books that Robbie Coltrane was the image in JK Rowling’s (Robert Galbraith’s) mind when she wrote them.

Dark haired, very overweight, heavy smoker, but women seemed to find him attractive.

Sad news about Robbie’s death.

Oh bugger!
'Probably shouldn't have said that!' Hagrid

Grandmabatty Fri 14-Oct-22 19:01:32

He died close by then as that's my local hospital. I believe he was very much reclusive.

Grandmabatty Fri 14-Oct-22 19:02:01

I should have said that was for Urms

Urmstongran Fri 14-Oct-22 19:19:35

I loved him in 2 of my top 10 films of all time.
‘Calvary’.
And ‘In Bruges’.

I’m off to watch one of those tonight.
Have you seen them? Highly recommend.

Urmstongran Fri 14-Oct-22 19:21:07

I’d heard that too Grandmabatty.
A recluse ‘in the Highlands’ apparently.

Parsley3 Fri 14-Oct-22 19:27:47

When you watch them you'll probably see that Robbie Coltrane's not in them.

Brendan Gleeson.
