Our heating has been on for an hour every morning. Last night I caved in and it went on for an hour in the evening too. The gas fire is on in the evenings, and I’ve been loving my heated throw.

I came down to OH cooking breakfast with a fleece, scarf and woolly hat on. He had walked down the hill to buy fresh morning rolls and his nose was frozen. ?
He was the one to give in stating he was miserable but I have never adjusted the thermostat as quickly in my life.

It actually feels warmer this morning than it’s been for days I’ve just had my shower windows are open so not needed my heating so far.

Still hanging on atm. It's not that cold here.

Nor me. Last year I bought a cosy, fluffy fleece dressing gown from Marks and Spencer. I wear this first thing in the morning and from mid evening, when I change into PJ's. My house is only eleven years old and exceptionally well insulated. I have a sitting room on the first floor which catches the sun all afternoon, so it's a naturally warm room. As I have someone staying with me at the end of October I shall pop the heating on morning and evening. I think from November onwards I shall be using the heating on a more regular basis. I'm fortunate to have a home which is comfortable without needing to use the central heating any earlier in the year. My heart goes out to those who live in properties where it's difficult to be warm.

We bought an oiled filled radiator for our landing as we have no radiator there. It’s brilliant it does make upstairs really cosy.
We gave in and put the heating on last week just for a couple of hours in the evening.

I agree, I feel I do not need heat in the mornings but it is different early evening. It also dries the washing so it kills 3 birds with one stone, the washing, me and keeps the house from going mouldy!

I have heating set to come on twice a day, but only if the temperature in our house is below 16 degrees, which is what I have our thermostat set to. I'll turn it up when we have visitors, otherwise it is warm clothes and electric throws to keep warm ?

I'll hang on a bit longer if I can, having invested in a heated blanket from Lakeland at the back end of last winter. It's nice and cosy but when I go up to the bedroom it's rather chilly (electric blanket switched on earlier) but not too bad.

We are much further south than you Espee and we are warm in our little apartment, still no need of heating on. The sun’s up and behind glass doors our main room is toasty warm. As it creeps across this sofa in an hour I will be ditching the cardigan I’m wearing!

The temperature last night went down to zero so I put the heating on for a while. I have it on for an hour in the morning unless it's particularly mild. I can't regulate my temperature well so when I get cold, I stay cold.

1 hour on last night and 1 hour this morning. Made a big difference and the windows didn’t have condensation this morning.

I’ve got the heating on for the early mornings , but it’s off now . Plenty of insulation in this new build so by the evening the usual cooking and body heat seem to keep me warm enough .

We are putting it on next weekend after it has been serviced.
Though it now gets a boost at lunchtime and after supper in the evenings. We actually got caught in a hail and sleet storm yesterday, I've never known one in October before.

Not yet, but then we're south-ish and have windows that catch the sun. Hot water bottle in use at bedtime though!

Ours has been on for a few hours on several evenings lately, when it’s felt chilly. Ours doesn’t come on automatically (unless the temp is below 5 degrees) - we turn it on and off via the thermostat.

Yammy. Are you in the far north?

I have had the heating on twice since October 1st, both times when I had a bath in the evening. The bathroom was newly done earlier this year and the tiled walls and floor make it vey beautiful but also cold, plus I have yet to choose a blind.

For a few weeks now between 7 and 8pm we have turned on the CH if we feel cold.

My heating is thermostatically controlled. All I change is the chosen temperature. Presentally it is at 17o and comes on first thing in the morning and is off around 7am.
Not on at all the rest of the day.

An hour in the mornings and 2 hours in the evenings.
We have an old house that takes a while to warm up.

Heating on for an hour or so in the morning, if needed. Same in the evening. (Thankfully we have a well insulated home.) DH & I snuggle up under fleecy throws when sitting watching TV in the evening. And we dress warmly, whenever the temperature requires this.

I’m a bit further South than Yammy, but I’ve had my heating on a few times already - mostly nights. I’ve a big lounge, so it takes some time to warm up, but I’ll just use a fleece throw if I’m planning an early night.
Don’t bother in the mornings, as I’m either going out or ‘jobbing about’.
