Hi all, I hope some of yesterdays sorrows have lessened, although I understand some wont just disappear. That’s really not on soop, it must be very frustrating. That looks delightful brook, I’ll bet there’s lots of interesting stuff to have a nosey at, I can imagine you and Urms raising your glasses!
You couldn’t try much harder Grannmarie, you make me feel guilty, Grandmabatty too, you should both sleep well today.
Another day of squally showers and sun, I went to the dentist to get moulds, I need three false teeth, disgusting blue stuff in my month which I managed to get in my hair as well. I dread the thought of dentures, but needs must, makes me feel old, ah, yes…
MrJ will be off to the local chippy in a minute, supporting local business 🙂

Grandmabatty Tue 08-Nov-22 19:19:45

Urms I remember that song well. I'm humming it just now. I am truly exhausted and I dread ever so slightly doing three days child care next week. I absolutely love the boys but I have to keep alert as the baby opens cupboards and shuts doors. He's generally happy and has a wonderful giggle but boy, can he scream. Things will settle down. Dgs1 missed his mummy today but he was such a good boy. Chicken and rice for dinner, followed by Apple sponge and custard. Comfort food indeed. Soop I really hope you can get help. Blossoming I'm just going to do some Spanish now. Jaxjacky things will improve once your teeth are sorted. Brook that's a lovely photo of the building and the trees. Enjoy your holiday. Until tomorrow ladies

Urmstongran Tue 08-Nov-22 19:34:21

Grandmabatty could you maybe sort out having ‘child safety’ clips fitted onto your lower cupboards? They are inexpensive and I think would be most reassuring - you wouldn’t have to be ‘on guard’ half so much and going forward, this would be a real boon (for your peace of mind if nothing else). x

muse Tue 08-Nov-22 19:39:31

Hello kitcheners.
Hope you get some answers soon soop. I wonder what happened to your post earlier on.

Love the photos Urms and Brook. They do wonders to raise our spirits. Keep them coming please.

Tonight MrMuse and I have our last dinner and sleep in the cottage. Today I moved all the food stuffs over to the our new home. Half of it is still on the floor but I have my feet up now. Tomorrow, our large fridge freezer will be taken over.

My part denture is well bedded in Jax. It was a shock to the system, when I first had it fitted but what a difference it made.

Please take care next week Grandmabatty and find a little me time during the three days.

I hope the doctor has everything in hand for your DS Yia. Thinking of you and him. 🤗

Grandmabatty Tue 08-Nov-22 20:38:04

Child locks are planned Urms. This wee one has no fear. He's getting better at heeding, "No." 😊 Muse I'll certainly have quiet time for me next week. His other grandparents are away on holiday next week so I offered an extra day to help out. Normally I'll do two days only. If I had a partner it would be easier to manage but heigh-ho.

kittylester Tue 08-Nov-22 20:51:13

Just a quick visit to say that I am so sorry that you are having to sort this out yourself soop. It surely should be a gp referral?

Hope that the dentist got good impressions jax. Dentures are a huge help and help stabilise the adjacent teeth.

Wishing everyone well - I'm very tired now so will catch up properly tomorrow.

SueDonim Tue 08-Nov-22 21:44:54

Hello all. My son heard today that his surgery is scheduled for the last week in November. I can’t wait for it to be over and done with, the waiting is awful.

Soop I’m sorry you’ve a new buggeration to cope with and hope you find someone soon who knows how to manage it.

Grandmarie you must have a different definition of lethargy to me - you sound very active!

Muse how exciting! Good luck with the big move.

Some lovely pics on here from our holidaying Kitcheners! ❤️ Better than dreary, grey Scotland, that’s for sure.

Xxx

Hello everyone! Been reading but not getting round to posting. X ray on dodgy knee today, which is a repeat in order that deterioration can be determined. It’s the first step to getting sent to see a real doctor instead of a physiotherapist! It’s only taken about 20 months. Then I wait for an appointment! Yawn.
I spent a happy afternoon piecing the blocks for a cot quilt. Two more seams and they will be done. There are only six but it’s so long since I did any patchwork. Now sitting with my knitting.
Hope all is well with the kitcheners and worries have been quietened a little.
Sleep tight everyone.

Post lost do shall try again-Todays rainbow after the rain- a metaphor for those feeling down or fed up…

mamaa Tue 08-Nov-22 23:06:24

‘so’ not ‘do’…🤦🏼‍♀️

cornergran Tue 08-Nov-22 23:38:07

Susan56 Wed 09-Nov-22 09:06:59

Good morning.

Grandmabatty, your DGS2 sounds like Henry! As well as cupboard locks we put a stair gate on the living room door so he didn’t have free run of the house.Like you we needed eyes in the back of our heads. He had plenty of space to play but couldn’t disappear/destroy the whole house.

He is three now and still has a mischievous twinkle in his eye but the cuddliest, sweetest little boy.As he is in Wales he will start school in September and we already know how much we will miss him.

soop, I am so sorry/cross that you are having to search for help yourself for this latest setback and hope that you get somewhere with finding a nurse who can help you today 🤞🏻💐

muse, good luck with the house move.

Thinking of Suedonim and her son and all coping with illness and worries about family members💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 09-Nov-22 09:35:23

Lounge curtains in all their glory!

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 09-Nov-22 09:36:12

Here they are, I think!

Grandmabatty Wed 09-Nov-22 09:37:30

Susan Henry sounds adorable. Dgs2 is also adorable but loves a good crawl. He can move fast!I can't believe that Henry is starting school.

cornergran Wed 09-Nov-22 10:46:28

Quick visit. We’re off out with friends soon. Much hope here the day is drier.

Love the curtains ladylfl, you must be pleased. Our two were a nightmare with cupboards, even had to put a high outside lock on the cloakroom door to avoid devastation in there. The grandchildren seemed to follow in their fathers’ footsteps so back to the locks.

Good luck with the move muse, exciting day for you. Fabulous rainbow mama, makes rain worth it.

Good wishes for your son sued. One of ours has unsettled me for a different reason. He drives many miles a day for work, in heavy rain yesterday far from home he found himself and his car embedded in a central reservation barrier. No other cars involved. We’re assured he is fine, the police rescued him with great kindness, the car won’t be driven again. It’s not what happened that has unsettled me, a car is just metal, it’s the what might have been of it.

Right, I’m being reminded we need to leave. Take care everyone.

Blossoming Wed 09-Nov-22 11:17:09

Hope all goes well with your son’s surgery SueDonim as you say, soon be over 🌹

Hope the move goes well Muse and loving those curtains LadyLFL,

I’m feeling much more cheery today, the sun is doing it’s best to creep through 🌞

soop Wed 09-Nov-22 14:55:07

Llfl Classy springs to mind. Gorgeous.

SueD We are with you in spirit. Please continue to update us. flowers

Mus A big day for you and your husband. Much love.

mamaa You rainbow image seems most appropriate.

Early morning call from chief stoma nurse in Glasgow hospital. She confirms that i have a parastomal hernia. All systems chang! New stoma bags ordered and I've to be measured for a sexy supportive belt. Let joy be unconfined.
I have to keep a close eye on any changes in the colour of the stoma. If anything untoward presents itself, I've to go directly to A&E
Time for elasticated baggy trousers. Onwards and whateva

Back after ironing. smile'

Yiayia4 Wed 09-Nov-22 15:16:04

Hello Kitcheners.Bright and breezy here today.
Good luck with your sons surgery SueDonim I’m sure you can’t wait for it to be over.
Muse hope your move goes well, it will be so lovely to move in at last.

I remember looking after my GSs at that age Grandmabatty. You need eyes in the back of your head please look after yourself.

Hope you get some help soon Soop.

My DS saw his GP yesterday, she feels he’s a little less anxious but not well enough for work.He starts counselling next week and hopefully work are going to offer some sort of help as well.

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

Blossoming Wed 09-Nov-22 15:17:33

I’m glad the stoma nurse has contacted you Soop, I’d definitely ask for a purple satin belt! You’ll soon be able to get out and about again.
Very changeable weather here today, blue skies and sunshine at the moment, but some angry-looking clouds heading this way, I’ve done some laundry and tidied away the week’s shopping, been cycling and now about to get on with my Gaelic lessons. I have received my copy of the orthoptist’s report from my recent appointment. I think I understand some of it grin

kittylester Wed 09-Nov-22 15:21:46

Oh, flip, soop. Well, at least they know you exist!

sue, what a worry for you. The waiting for treatment to start is awful, I know but, thereafter, it has a rhythm all of it's own. Or that has been our experience with DD1.

Oooh, not nice corner. Aren't children a worry?

Have a good move muse.

I'm completely jiggered - on top of 2 lots of visitors, I've just done a Sainsbury's shop. I need a lie down and brew at least.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 09-Nov-22 15:29:11

soop pleased to learn that you are being listened to and taken notice of at last.

I am plodding on with Christmas gift buying (mainly online delivery or click and collect) DH was bag carrier in chief for me yesterday as I was buying bedding along with bits and bobs, boy did it all add up ££££

Suedonim I think your little tyke is roughly the same age as our Imp, loving, kind but a little monkey 🤣

Take care kitchen friends 🙋‍♀️

GrannyGravy13 Wed 09-Nov-22 15:31:09

Oh dear cornergran we never stop worrying about our children do we.

Suedonim I expect you are going to be worrying about your DS also.
