What are the things you like most in your home?

Big, small, expensive, cheap, or any other variation.

Grandchildren go without saying, so what else do you really like?

Lovely idea for a thread MissA. Thank you.
I will shortly bombard you with pictures of random nonsense I’ve got in my possession.
My tiny house is packed to the rafters of things that I love.
Looking forward to hearing about and seeing others beloved stuff

Oooooh, all of it!! Well apart from the kitchen which needs redoing.

Mostly, I suppose the light and space.

MissAdventure Tue 08-Nov-22 10:30:42

Oh goody!
I love pictures of people's treasures.

Rosie- especially snuggled into the small of my back.
And she is FIVE today! 🥳 🎉 🐶

Massive windows, airing cupboard, double oven, bus stops right outside my cull de sac a few steps from my flat.

MissAdventure Tue 08-Nov-22 10:32:43

Ah, looks like she's having a wild old time to celebrate. smile

We moved house 10 months ago and for the first time ever we have a table in our kitchen. It is now the hub and has totally changed how we live. Previously I’d have been doing something in the kitchen alone. Now chores are more readily shared, or at least having a chat, as we are both in the kitchen.

The lounge is always tidy, no mugs to take to the kitchen etc. Come evening when we settle to watch some tv it marks a definite end to chores.

It’s a well-known fact that greyhounds sleep 25 hours a day grin

Coolgran65 Tue 08-Nov-22 10:35:58

Oh. And 3 minute walk to the river.

MissAdventure Tue 08-Nov-22 10:37:23

25 hours!
That beats cats, for sleeping, I think.

MissAdventure Tue 08-Nov-22 10:38:37

It sounds as if you definitely chose well, coolgran.

You sound really settled.

Bright sunny living room with windows on two sides.
Big comfortable sofa.
Small cosy bedroom (I hate big bedrooms for some reason)
Lots of cupboards in the kitchen.

Lovely photo of Rosie, Maw, and a great excuse for another picture of Gracie
And something stupid I did to the back page of The Times

Mollygo Tue 08-Nov-22 10:42:33

My glass dining-table, my books my hens and. . . our dog-once she’s dried off.

Very neutral decor throughout here and very few ornaments/knickknacks but I recently spotted a terracotta glazed stylish (I think) very simple vase in a local charity shop.
It just lifts the whole living room and I'm very pleased with it.

Snap Coolgran - very much enjoying having a kitchen-diner.

This pet, who needs neither feeding nor walking. A family member carved him, painted him and added the finishing touches. He likes being part of Christmas in the study.

Kate1949 Tue 08-Nov-22 10:54:02

My large framed picture of The Beatles with me sitting behind them. It's in the hall so that when I open the front door people see it and comment and ask me the story behind it. They never do grin. It's shameless attention seeking.

MissAdventure Tue 08-Nov-22 10:54:11

We had one of those in outer classroom when I started school smile

Witzend Tue 08-Nov-22 10:54:16

Lovely doggy pics! Wish we still had one.
And I love your back page, FannyCornforth!

These are two of my favourite things, Hip and Hop. Hip (on the R) was found by dh on a work trip to southern Africa. Hop came from a subsequent trip, to keep Hip company. They each weigh about 40 kg!
They live under the Hippo Tree (aka mega Swiss Cheese plant) whose aerial roots are so untidily hanging down in the pic

Kate1949 Tue 08-Nov-22 10:56:27

Oh and the canal directly behind the house.

FannyCornforth Tue 08-Nov-22 11:06:07

I love your horse Joseanne!
Here is mine. He was only £40 from Amazon

Georgesgran Tue 08-Nov-22 11:07:49

Fanny Gracie is absolutely adorable - that little face!

Blossoming Tue 08-Nov-22 11:27:04

My walk in airing cupboard.
The view over the marina.

FannyCornforth Tue 08-Nov-22 11:44:26

Hip and Hop are beautiful. They look so tactile
