Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays hospital appointments had a few mishaps , I went to the pre op hopefully for blood test , but unable to, I was directed to the path lab , where eventually they got the bllod mainly through my hands , was advised to eat plenty of beetroot as its good for the blood , I then went to the outpatients for my Glaucoma check ,again part done as photo was taken but due to a computer breakdown not possible to do field test .
Today , usual day shop in Bicester using the bus and having my usual cafe stop for a sarnie of bacon and egg .
Then return home .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, all, from a damp Torbay.

Sounds like Mick’s appointments could have gone better yesterday. My DS and his ex-partner are in a Midlands hospital with my DGS3, aged six, awaiting a diagnosis for his symptoms, which initially sounded like the usual D and V, but now appear more serious as he has developed jaundice.

Not a great night, but yesterday was my best day so far with a short walk between showers and an improved appetite. Best of all was the news that DD2 has been successful in her interview to be Headteacher of her current school, w.e.f. September, 2023! 👍

Happy hump day! 💐🦩🥰🦩

Morning all from a still dark S Yorks, but we are promised some sun today.

Probably the gym and a Quaker Zoom at lunchtime.

Well done on that walk Ash and mixed family news there. sorry things were tricky yesterday, Mick

grandMattie Wed 09-Nov-22 06:01:25

Good morning from E Kent where the full moon has been shining like a beacon in the western sky.
I’m sorry you had so many problems, Mick, but hope that you’ll have the results soon. Enjoy your sarnie.
My return was uneventful, though the train to London was over full, people standing in the aisles. The tube station and train were almost deserted, ditto HS1 back home. Felt very tired and emotional back home - only to be greeted by yet more visitors. There seems to be an endless stream. I unpacked instead of being a gracious hostess; TBH they couldn’t care if I was there or not!
I’ve got a ton of stuff to do today; the laundry, the beds need changing, supermarket shop (they went out or had takeaways every day!) and return my kitchen stuff where I like it. I’ve got my Spanish homework to do for tomorrow, I hope to manage to fit it in. My teacher knows I may not do it!
The bishop is coming late morning to give DL communion.
Hope you all have a restful, contented day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️

grandMattie Wed 09-Nov-22 06:02:51

Great news, Ash. Hope your DGS has a diagnosis and treatment soon..

karmalady Wed 09-Nov-22 06:14:27

good morning, it will be a mixed weather day in s somerset

GM, your body is talking to you. it is saying to rest, listen to it.

Sewing was excellent yesterday, it was a nice productive day indoors and I only need to top stitch when my new thread arrives, probably today

Today will evolve, it always does and I may well walk around with a duster. The house does not take much work but it gets messy in areas when I am gripped by some hobby or other

Grammaretto Wed 09-Nov-22 06:39:37

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I was awoken by bleeps from my phone. I had turned the notifications sound to full volume!
I'll get the hang of technology some day - or perhaps not.
I still have a cold and cough but feel a bit better today.
Poor gMattie not the best homecoming but DL must be nearly ready to move into her own place.
Ash that's a worry. Hoping DGS hasn't anything serious. Congratulations to your DD.

Mick you can drink beetroot juice if easier than the vegetable.

Have as best a day as you can everyone.

kittylester Wed 09-Nov-22 06:43:00

Good morning all from a dark North Leicestershire.

One of my lovely neighbours came for a cup of tea yesterday and we had a big catch up. Not sure I can cope with all this excitement.

I hope your grandson can get a diagnosis quickly, Ash.

grandMattie Wed 09-Nov-22 06:43:58

grammaretto, sadly the vendor is not playing ball and things aren’t moving as fast as we’d hoped. I muststand very firm - I have already extended my two month limit by one week. Enough. It can’t be my problem anymore. It’s too easy for her actual friends to leave me with the problem, it is time for them to pile in. DL is a good acquaintance not a friend!

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 09-Nov-22 06:48:10

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m still in bed and haven’t looked outside yet! We are out for lunch again today at another favourite place. They do a steamed game pudding which OH loves. It is our Local History Society this evening. I will go along to that. I had to miss the last one as I was preparing for my colonoscopy. Otherwise I have a pile of admin to do and a pile of ironing. PMQs should be interesting today so I might have a peak at that. Have a good day everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 09-Nov-22 06:50:58

Morning all

Oh dear Mick a bit of a mixed bag for your hospital appointments.

Ashcombe baby steps, but in the right direction, I do hope your GS is better and home soon.

grandMattie you sound as if you are in desperate need of what I call a fly and flop holiday to recharge your batteries

kittylester you seem to be getting stronger, feeling better 🥂

I shall be up cooking the 7yr old his full English before his early start at school, I have a manicure/pedicure at 9.30 and then straight to the gym afterwards I have to drive to the retail park (Mayflower) for my click and collect orders at M & S and Boots.

My appetite is still tiny, but o have a hankering for lamb chops, mash, veggies and mint gravy for dinner so that is what we shall be having.

Have your best day folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Good morning from a very wet Essex by the sea.
DH is going to meet up with an old work colleague in London today. I'm going to a large supermarket about 20 minutes away that sells lots more than just food.
I hope your DGS is OK Ash and I hope for a more peaceful day for you GM.
Enjoy Wednesday everyone, much love xx

Good morning everyone, we’re in Alicante in a little apartment in the centre of the old town. It was a warm sunny day yesterday so we walked along the paseo and sat with a glass of wine watching the world go by. Our journey here from Glasgow was nice and easy with no problems, the flight was on time and we got the local bus into central Alicante from the airport.
A worry about your DGS Ashcombe but I hope it’s sorted soon. A big congratulations to your DD, you must be so very proud of her. Good to know you’re recovering well, one step at a time and don’t try to do too much
gMattie good to hear you’re home safely and standing firm. You really do so much for others it definitely is time someone else helped your DL out.
Today I think we’re going to have a wander to the local food market to pick up some tasty treats to cook later. Everything seems to be ok at home so we can just relax and chill out.
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Urmstongran Wed 09-Nov-22 07:15:06

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Málaga where it’s the start of another sunny day. Himself is still asleep so I had to make my own mug of tea just now. You just can’t get the staff these days.

A neighbour here is out for a week on her own from Birmingham and texted me yesterday to ask if I’d join her late afternoon for a G&T then a Chinese at her favourite place. I’m not a big fan of Chinese food but I’m happy to join her and choose a spring roll and some Singapore noodles. Beats cooking anyway!

I’m sorry to hear your grandson is in hospital Ash I hope it’s nothing serious. You will all be anxious as you await a diagnosis. Fingers crossed firmly here for him. Glad to hear you’re making progress - kitty too and GG13 - all of you going in the right direction.

grandMattie it won’t be easy but I think you’re right to stand firm regards your lodger. You’ve given her so much more than her friends so force yourself to take a backseat as the due date approaches and let events unfold. She and her friends were aware of your T&Cs from the outset. Future plans are not your problem and don’t you dare feel guilty.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 09-Nov-22 07:25:15

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. A dry day is forecast today. Can’t believe how mild it’s going to be over the next couple of days.

Mick sorry your day didn’t go exactly to plan yesterday. Hope your results are back soon.

Ash worrying news for you about your grandson💐

grandMattie I do feel you and your home are being taken advantage of a little. Hopefully not to much longer. 💐

Today I need to take mum to a community A&E as her knee has locked into the bend position and she can’t straighten it and she’s hobbling around. She’s hoping it will only need a steroid injection.
It was a lovely day with daughter and Grandaughters yesterday visiting uncle and to the animal park we got caught in a huge rain shower. Daughter said Mum you never dress for the weather.
I looked like a drowned rat.
We are picking up Grandson from school and son will stay for dinner when he picks him up.

Have a lovely day if you can and virtual hugs for those suffering family stress and illness. 🌻🌻

Sar53 Wed 09-Nov-22 07:30:30

GG13, not the posh one, not a fan but the big one on the A127 that starts with a T. I have the car today so can get there.

Jaxjacky Wed 09-Nov-22 07:32:33

Good morning from S Hampshire, where it’s not raining!
Yes gMattie definitely stand firm, you’ve done over and above.
Hope your grandson makes a quick recovery Ash, your recovery is sounding good.
My dental visit yesterday involved mould making for a new denture, yukky blue gunge, hope it was right first time.
Library today, a walk and possibly some gardening.
Enjoy your day 🦩🦩

Pittcity Wed 09-Nov-22 07:34:09

Good morning from rainy Colchester. It seems to be clearing now and it's quite mild.
Wednesday morning coffee meetup in the city centre as usual.
I have a pile of washing and another of ironing to tackle. I also need to go to the supermarket.
Luckily the morning cafe and the supermarket are both only short walks from home but in opposite directions.
Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning from a blustery Leicestershire.

Sorry your appointments didn’t go to plan Mick but better news from * Ash*, kitty and GG13.
I hope you hear better news about your DGS Ash.

Urm is right *Mattie. Enough is enough, it is about time your lodgers friends pulled their weight and took over. She seems to have enough of them. Surely one of them could take her in.

Not much happening here today. Been awake most of the night with tummy ache.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 09-Nov-22 07:35:29

Good morning all from a damp East Yorkshire. It is very mild and the weatherman on our local TV said temperatures will be up to 18 degrees on Thursday and Friday. Good news as I am off to a Christmas market on Friday.

Mixed news for you Ash congratulations to your DD you must be so proud. Hoping your DGS will make a quick recovery.

Your holiday sounds blissful Brook and right up my street. Enjoy.

I too have to make my own tea this morning Urms. DH was out at a concert last night and they must have gone for a few drinks after as he was late coming in. Also he disturbed my sleep being up and down to the bathroom 😬

I am waiting for a shopping delivery this morning and will see how the rest of the day develops.

Have a good day everyone. Take care.

ginny Wed 09-Nov-22 07:42:18

Good morning,
A morning of pottering with odd jobs and then this afternoon a meeting with some WI ladies who want to start a knitting/ crochet branch of our sewing craft group. We meet once a month and make items for various charities.
This evening I shall make the house presentable for visitors tomorrow.

Hope things improve for all with worries ad those recovering from op’s .

NannyJan53 Wed 09-Nov-22 07:44:18

Good morning from a brighter Black Country.

Zumba class was quite disappointing yesterday. Three other ladies who were chatting amongst themselves and totally ignored me. Young girl leading class didn't even acknowledge me, so doubt I will go again. Tried to chat but was obvious they were not interested! Oh well, will stick to machines and my walking groups.

Hair appointment today for cut and highlights. Not been since May, so money saved there! Then Mum has an audiology appointment at her house, to have a replacement hearing aid as she lost one a couple of months ago. This is private, and luckily she has NHS ones too.

grandMattie I agree with Urms you must stick to your guns. It seems she has many friends and it is time for one of them to step up to the plate.

Five star treatment Grannygravy in your house. I remember when I stayed at my brothers one weekend when Niece was about 12. He took her up breakfast in bed! She is an only child smile

Wishing you all a lovely day

Grammaretto Wed 09-Nov-22 07:44:21

Can you make sure DL knows that it's important for someone else to take over, and when? gMattie?
It is a shame that your good nature is taken for granted.
We once had a needy couple foisted on us for a few weeks which turned into 6 months.
The people who had asked us to help, melted away.
Stand firm. We are all behind you.
