Beechnut venison casserole sounds lovely! I may well try that 😋
Good Morning Thursday 23rd April 2026
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark outside and cold plus looks like fog as well because I can see a reflection of the christmas lights which are on trees by the town hall here in brackley.
Today , usual trip to Bicester, and then return and have some lunch, before I relax this afternoon.
Take Care,
Mick
Beechnut venison casserole sounds lovely! I may well try that 😋
Good morning from misty Leicestershire.
We had a lovely day yesterday finishing of with FaceTime with the grandchildren.
Pilates first thing this morning but only round the corner then will buy stamps for the cards. Not sure when to post them with the strikes and all.
Wishing everyone a good day.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and foggy. Milder than yesterday Ashcombe!
Yesterday was hard work. Dgs1 was really not himself and just wanted mummy and to go home for most of the day. He was very emotional too about daft things. I did a lot of distracting, I can tell you. Dgs2 was his usual riotous self.
Today I'll visit mum then head home as I have a tesco delivery due. I won't be able to visit my friend in hospital today but I hope to see her tomorrow. I haven't started writing cards yet. Have a good day all.
Good morning everyone from an overcast south Hants. A very heavy dew and the grass is sodden - probably means DDog will need a bath when I get back!
DH has just left for his dentist appointment and I’m just enjoying my first coffee of the day. Horrid night sleep what with DH snoring and then cats yowling outside.
A visit to the pets store to buy a soft buster collar in the hope of of stopping DDog licking a ‘sore-spot’ and making it worse.
Maybe a trip to look at a carpet for third bedroom as we ran out of time yesterday. Also an admin day.
Have the best day you can all. Kind thoughts and good wishes for those feeling under the weather 🦩🦩🦩
Hugs and flowers 💐 for you all x.
Good morning from Shropshire.
I got the Christmas cards written yesterday💃🏻🍾🥂I find it a chore but like receiving them so keep writing them.I make a list of who we received cards from each Christmas and that’s who we send to the next year.
My blood sugar monitor didn’t work this morning.I hope it’s just the battery🤞🏻
Finishing off admin and household chores today before a busy couple of weeks.
Hope Greyduster is doing well 🤸🏼♂️ and that little Dollie continues to improve.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning all from a foggy Glasgow, where its only 3° .
A bit later posting, DH left me sleeping, after an extremely busy day yesterday,
brook, I am in awe of your sense of adventure and a little envious to say the least.
I spent half the morning yesterday, with the surveyor in the church. When he used the moisture meter, it read 70 % moisture on some of the walls. The huge job now is to find the source of the leaks.
The floor, in various areas, will need to be taken up and plywood put down before the weekend masses, in case of any accidents.
The workmen will be working against the clock.
The PP, was too unwell to be in on the inspection, but was astonished (and relieved) at how quickly, I managed to get the temporary repairs done! It takes a woman's touch! 😂
As I was leaving, the young curate caught me, looking for help and advice. One hour later......
This meant that when I got to Sainsburys to pick up a parcel, it was heaving. I'm very uneasy now in busy places, but was waylaid by an elderly 80yr lady, who just wanted to chat. She told me I had made her day, by taking the time to talk with her. I felt really guilty, because I was dying to get home.
I did however, pick up a lovely outfit for Dollie in the sale, I have already bought too much for her, but I couldn't resist it.
On arriving home, I found Mr MD had been up the loft on his own, ( a definite no, no!) and emptied the loft of every piece of Christmas tat paraphernalia, including two trees, we own.
He thought he was helping, I just wanted to weep! 😭
His reason, Dollie is coming to stay at the weekend and everything must be ready for her.😍
I have the hairdresser's at noon, postponed from last week, it's not really growing at all, much to the relief of my hairdresser.
It used to be so thick, it needed cut every five weeks and took ages to dry.
I'm looking forward to hearing all the gossip!
Hoping for news of Grey and that our poorly grans and their families are improving.
Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.
Good morning from coastal West Sussex. The sky is clear and there are little rose-tinged clouds. I expect it’s cold but I’m still cosy under the duvet. How lovely to be able to see the reflected lights in the fog Mick.
Reading through the posts reminded me of my to-do list - cards, stuffing etc but I did finish the Christmas cake yesterday. The dried fruit has been soaking in alcohol for at least a week. The bits that were stuck to the baking parchment when I took it out of the oven tasted yummy.
I have been enjoying all the holiday photos, yesterday. That spices stall is wonderful Ginny, and the fairytale mountains view made me want to be sitting at one of these tables, drinking coffee Oops. Brook your photos today are stunning!
I will travel along the coast a bit today, to collect donated hygiene products for distribution to community groups - needed more than ever with so many struggling on inadequate incomes.
Wishing all a good day.
Good morning from Essex by the sea where the sun is shining at the moment but not expected to last. It was very cold and miserable yesterday, all day.
I'm going into town on the train this morning, just a few bits to get for Christmas plus it's youngest grandaughter's 5th birthday on the 4th January. I buy a small gift and give money so DD2 can buy her something in the summer.
I must get my Christmas box out and see how many cards I have left over from last year. I don't intend sending many but I will have a few to write.
Have a lovely day everyone xx
Good morning all from a dull and damp Black country.
Running late this morning woke in the night then an age before dropping off again.
Need to ring my elder brother it's his birthday today.
Nursery pick up then back to write some more cards shall do a few a day.
Happy St Andrew's day to all our Scottish Grans 🏴.
Shall now get my cuppa and catch up on everybody's news.
Enjoy your Wednesday and may you all find some 🌞
Good morning from a grey skied Colchester.
We got home last night when our sister took over with Mum and Dad. Mum is slowly improving in hospital.
I am going to try to relax for a couple of days as we may need to go back to Hampshire next week.
Love to all 🦩x
Oh, thanks Urms for reminding me.
Very happy St. Andrew’s day to all our Scottish GM posters.🎉🪅🎊
Morning all. The sun has just risen - it's reflecting pink on the cloud cover - and 'my' field is being ploughed. Roll on Spring!
How wonderful Bluesapphire - a tour of New Zealand in February! That's really something to look forward to.
Thank you for the pics, Brook - that looks amazing.
Enjoy your day out with the BiLs Urms. It sounds as if a good time will be had. Many years ago, in our RAF days, I knew someone who had mine children - she said the first four were the hardest, but after that the older ones were a big help. It was her shopping trolleys at the NAAFI which were a sight to behold!
Today I have a visit to the dental hygienist followed by a lunch with friends at the new farm distillery outlet just up the road.
Have a good day everyone x
Good morning all. A bit dismal here in Sefton but dry.
A lste start for me as I have managed a good 8 hours sleep for a change. Yesterday was tiring, town was very busy & I was glad to get home. Really enjoyed our Italian lunch with our friends though. They are good company.
Zoom Zumba this morning. And a load of washing to get on. Collecting DGD2 from school this afternoon & a couple of hours 'child minding' til mum gets home from her craft class.
We have a greyhound Maw who always gallops in from his morning wee as if he is back racing. It's best not to be stood in his way. He's a big dog with no brakes. (After that effort he'll sleep all day, their capacity for sleep still amazes me.)
Wishing everyone a kind day.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Freezing here. I'm with Rosie Maw . Please don't put me outside.
Thinking of the people in Ukraine without heat. I hope they can find warm hubs.
Well done Marydoll with your timely action on the fabric of your church.
My lovely Helpers leave today for their next adventure. They are becoming Christmas Elves at an events company.
Yesterday they juiced another bucketful of apples.
I have crafts to finish for the fair on Saturday plus chasing up admin.
I have lost my diary where I write everything .
Any idea where I've put it?
Hoping everyone has a good day.
Gosh, I didn't realise this was 30th November! 🏴 Shame on me! November has flown by!
When I was teaching, St Andrew's Day was a big celebration in school, with a concert and a feast of Scottish treats, all washed down with Irn Bru. The children also had a go at Scottish country dancing. It was hilarious!
Everyone dressed up with a piece of tartan, I even had red tartan shoes!
Thanks for your good wishes.
Good morning from a grey W Kent. DF and husband coming over for coffee this morning, she has had Covid and been in hospital and is finding it hard to get going again. Unfortunately the husbands don't have a great deal in common but I am sure we can get through coffee and cake.
Cards are now all written and ready to post I have a feeling a lot of people are going to post early this year, which will probably bring its own problems.
Best wishes to all.
Morning from a damp West York's .Happy St Andrews Day to all .More Xmas shopping this morning nearly finished thank goodness. Gc pick up later today .Walk looks amazing Brook i,m not keen on heights so don't think I could do it.Thinking of those with worries and illness .
Good morning Mick and all from grey misty Carlisle where it's 2C.
Yesterday I went into town where I managed to find suitable small Christmas presents for the GC. Then I treated myself to coffee. We have yet another coffee shop which has just opened, it seems to be part of a small chain originating over the border. It's large, also does food of the burger etc variety and was full of folk. I carried on to my favourite which was less busy than usual, maybe due to the new competition or maybe because the prices have gone up....like everything else.
I visited the underwear department in M&S where there appeared to have been a run on vests, I'm not the only one who's realised winter is setting in. I bought myself vests too. I wouldn't have been seen dead in such an item once but am now prone to a chilly chest so needs must. I succeeded in leaving the store without yet another sweater though I did eyeball one. No! I have two large drawers full.
Home again to finally finish off my very long novel trilogy only to find there are another two books, presumably also very long, to go. What's the name for that, a quinology?
BlueBalou, a venison casserole would be lovely but also, what about a guinea fowl? More special than a chicken and tastier than turkey without being 'gamey. With perhaps a ham or gammon which you could reserve for Boxing Day to have with the remains of the guinea fowl.
Right....I'm off to clean a bathroom or two so I'll wish you all the best possible day.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning from South Lanarkshire where there’s a gorgeous rosy glow from the sky. It’s chilly though.
Talking of children, yesterday we bumped into an acquaintance whom we had not seen for a few years. He had a small child with him who he proudly introduced as his daughter, he having been in a new relationship after divorce. He is sixty years older than his little one, I had to admire his stamina.
Your photos are beautiful brook, you must have a head for heights.
Yesterday I made a big pot of chilli and prepared a beef stew to pop into the slow cooker this morning so I can have a lazy day today.
Again it will be a toss up between angel making and card writing. The angels won yesterday and I have the yarn group this evening so they may very well come first again.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from Sefton where it is dry underfoot.
Meeting friends today and later seeing the DGC. Will some of our number be accessing the Scottish 1921 census today? 👋 volver. Whatever you intend to do, enjoy Wednesday.
Thinking of those with troubles and worries.
🍁 🍁 🍁
Good morning from Durham where it’s still grey and gloomy. I am continuing to nurture 😵💫my cough and cold - coming along nicely, really hope I can shake it off before 12/12!
No excuse not to do my cards today - no enthusiasm, but that’s not really a valid one.
Best wishes to all. X
Good Morning from a dull but dry S Yorks.
brook that place is stunning. I love reading all the different days.
Probably just the gym and the cards to finish. I don't mind doing them as they have been honed down to:
family, important as we don't do pressies anymore except immediate children and GC
people I really really want to not lose touch with and glad to swap brief news.
Greyduster will be nice to see you soon and hope things are as well as they can be Annie
Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cold and cloudy in this corner of Lancashire, 3°C at the moment. No fog and no rain forecast and for once there’s not a breath of wind.
Mr. B is out shopping so there’ll be stuff to put away. Some admin needs doing this afternoon and I really must sort my pages of Gaelic notes.
Hope all our poorly grans and family members are on the mend. Wishing you all a good day 🌹
