Sweetie Pie will be back- it may be too wet to leave his present accommodation in the woods. He is looked after so well I may try my luck there but I have not had an invite. I do have another house in mind where the cat dines on cooked chicken. I could manage that really well.

I gave away around 40 sachets and tins of Tara's food today. A charity shop would not take it but a local lady has been feeding a male, uncastrated, non microchipped friendly stray. Her own cats are unimpressed but he was seriously hungry and he sleeps in the garage.

There is a 3 month waiting list for eg the local CPL so this will help her. Her own cats are only given homemade food so they would not look at factory made rubbish like Sheba!

Brilliant present momb how thoughtful. Thank you for the fruit loaf Scapal I’ll pinch some for MrJ.
Better news Urms fingers crossed it continues, I’m a Naseptin user too, enjoy your evening.
A quiet day, it’s rained all day, Imogen completed her orienteering, three hours in wind and rain, plucky girl.
We’ve done little, must get motivated, but it’s a hibernating time of year, pork steaks in the slow cooker for dinner.
Enjoy your evening all x

Hello! Late again. We finally stripped the tree of all its decorations and packed them away. OH hoovered the carpet after he put the tree outside. We were almost ankle deep in pine needles. Lunch out was delicious. The landlord is thinking of relocating to the pub in my village! That would be brilliant as it’s walking distance. He reckons he and his wife have one more adventure in them! I am reading Lucy Worsley’s book on Agatha Christie. Highly recommended. Glad to hear that Urms’ stepfather is doing well.

Greetings to you lovely lot.

We've three sadnesses going hand in hand right now. I am not going to dwell on them in our kitchen.

One happy and uplifting image taken yesterday, on our great granddaughter's 5th birthday. Mila with he brother, Toby.

Grandmabatty Sun 08-Jan-23 14:41:12

Soop beautiful children. 💐 To you

soop Sun 08-Jan-23 14:41:18

By the way, Sweetie Pie spent last night sleeping on his beautiful new bed. He enjoyed three bowls of diced chicken at breakfast time.

brook2704 Sun 08-Jan-23 16:09:04

Such a beautiful picture of your great grandchildren soop thanks for sharing, sorry to hear about the sadness though
A very warm welcome to you Oreo, pleased that you’ve joined us in the kitchen and there’s always free coffee here and unlimited calorie free treats
I’m just in from the garden, I braved the blustery weather and wrapped up warm with lots of layers and my bobble hat. I’ve been clearing up leaves and cutting back some of the perennials so there’s lots of room for new spring growth. I’ve got a few early flowering bulbs that are just starting to show some new shoots so that was lovely to see.
I’ve just taken a deep breath and ordered some more heating oil. We don’t have mains gas where we are so it’s an oil fired central heating boiler, always expensive this time of year but more so now - but we need to keep warm!

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 08-Jan-23 17:03:53

Hello all. Milo and Ripley are both sitting with me on the sofa. I’m having a break from cooking dinner - beef in beer and steamed raspberry sponge pudding. Should be ready by 7 pm. Soop - what beautiful photos. What breed is your visiting cat? I know someone with a Norwegian Water (?) cat and it’s enormous and probably eats as much as Sweetie Pie.

gillgran Sun 08-Jan-23 17:08:39

Thank you for sharing the lovely photo of your great -grandchildren, heart-warming cheer. soop.
Lucky Sweetie-Pie, he knows who to call on.!
Sorry you have more sadness just now. flowers

Welcome Oreo, I really enjoy the calorie-free goodies in this friendly, welcoming kitchen.

Thought I've had recurring ear infections, but it appears I have swollen eustachian tube, & something called TMJ disorder hmm.
Very painful, but easing today.

Warm thoughts for you all.

Jaxjacky Sun 08-Jan-23 17:14:20

It’s rained and rained today, only stopping about 3:30, we’ve had my brother and his wife over for a late roast. They went on their first cruise returning on the 23rd December to a massive leak from the roof of their bungalow. The assessor won’t visit until next Wednesday, they were appreciative of a meal in a warm and dry space, with, of course, sparkling company!
Needs must brook I shall probably draw in breath tomorrow when I check our latest bill online.
Welcome Oreo we’ll shove up and make space.
Happy children soop.
Enjoy your evening all x

‘Evening All’

Well my poor stepfather had another 2 hour nose bleed last night from 10pm till midnight. We’ve been over late morning with some shopping and enjoyed a cuppa with him. He was looking forward to watching the snooker on BBC1 this afternoon. He’s fine during the day, just weary. At least he has an urgent ENT appointment tomorrow morning at Wythenshawe hospital. Let’s hope they find ‘something’ and it gets treatment.
🤞🤞

👋 to you Oreo! You gave me my best laugh of the day on another thread the other day! It’s lovely to have you join us.
😊

Hello everyone. I’m very full from our meal, ate far too much but it was too good to leave. Mr C is managing clearing the kitchen, good man that he is,

A very quiet weekend, miserable wet and windy weather. I’ve enjoyed some sorting, reading and generally doing little. There will be another charity shop visit tomorrow.

My hospital trip worries are sorted. One of ours is on leave that week and has offered to be chauffeur. We would have an overnight with them and not need to leave so early. He knows the area well as our lovely daughter in law has congenital heart issues and is a regular visitor. We would have an explanation of the best ways to find parking and also show me the easiest access. A great weight has lifted knowing that would be possible. We’ll confirm tomorrow as we need to check timings with the hospital to make sure he can collect us afterwards. .

What a shame for your step father urms, I’ll be thinking of him and hope tomorrows appointment brings a solution.

Welcome oreo, this is a friendly place with unstinting kindness.

Such a happy photo soop, I’m sorry you have sadness to mange.

My challenge is to think of a birthday gift for Mr C who will be 80 next month. We’ve arranged a weekend away with friends and a family tea. I’d like him to have something tangible, he is adamant he needs nothing. I’ve time to ponder, much too comfy now to think about anything challenging.

Take care everyone. TOYA. .

A couple of years ago corner I sent a beautiful photo of my late mum sitting with my stepfather to Boots and on line, chose said photo to be enlarged into a 500 piece jigsaw. Not only did he love putting it together, once done he couldn’t bear to break it up and so bought a simple frame, slid it into place, covered it with the glass front and hung it on the wall opposite his favourite chair.

It’s a sweet memory that even now brings him joy and he’s proud when any occasional visitors comment on its originality. Just a thought for your husband’s special present (providing of course that he likes doing a jigsaw ha!).

Oreo Sun 08-Jan-23 19:25:14

Thanks all for a warm welcome smile sounds a great place to unload if needed and enjoy some goodies, calorie free? What’s not to like!
Just spent an hour trying to untangle tree lights, a string of 300, nightmare. That’s as far as I got in taking the decs down.
Have to be a few done every day, which is strange as I put everything out in just one morning in December.Make of that what you will.🤪
DP is cooking tonight and there are bangs and crashes from the kitchen, he’s not a natural born chef. It’s only sausage and mash but I daren’t go in there, it’ll be chaos and upset me.
Having had so many late nights recently due to a cough which is never ending, think I’ll be in bed by nine tonight.moon

kittylester Sun 08-Jan-23 19:31:49

Brilliant idea for a present. I think Corner has said her dh likes a jigsaw.

Urms, I hope someone can sort out the problem for your DSF.

Glad your chauffeuring worries are sorted corner.

soop, what a fab picture but I am sorry you have more sadness to contend with.

We have had a lovely weekend with a post Christmas get together courtesy of DD3 and then DD2 and family stayed over night with us.

DD1 is going back to work tomorrow and DS2 is starting a new job. It's all flipping go round here.

I'll post a photo, from Saturday, of 7 of the 9 dgc. The older 2 were working.

Grandmabatty Sun 08-Jan-23 19:43:48

Another lovely photo from Kitty. I made broccoli and stilton soup which will have to go through the sieve as there are woody bits. And chicken in white wine, mustard and honey sauce with celery and grapes. All served with mash carrots and peas. I'm stuffed. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 08-Jan-23 19:59:08

The beer and beef casserole with dumplings was scrummy. I can’t move now especially after the steamed raspberry sponge and custard … and bottle of Prosecco. I don’t know. Old people today. I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow Urms.

brook2704 Sun 08-Jan-23 20:13:20

Lovely photo of your DGC Kitty Thanks for sharing - I can see the family resemblances!

Yiayia4 Sun 08-Jan-23 20:19:33

Lovely dGC photos on here today.
A horrible dark wet day here but DH cooked roast chicken tonight in the air fryer it was yummy.
Hope your Stepfather gets some help tomorrow Erms.
Welcome Oreo like the name.
