King Charles coronation

I’m reading today that Charles will be insisting that Harry & Meghan will be invited to his Coronation next year… but why? So they may still whinge & moan and take sneaky pictures for maybe another forthcoming battering of the royal family, moan that all the family will be so cold towards them, that no one is friendly towards them. Charles do your best and don’t invite them, they probably wouldn’t attend anyway..

Quite funny really. Regardless of where you live or where your allegiance lies, who has said anyone has to watch the coronation? Does nobody on GN have an off button? Imagine the saving on electricity.
It would be much cheaper than having to go away somewhere, presumably without wifi so you can’t accidentally catch sight of a news flash or a GN thread.
We will be abroad-booked before the death of HMQE. I’ll be interested to see how much interest there will be.

If I get a good holiday deal I will be away, but watch it on return.

But most of us don't!

Why you want to leave me?? 😫

That was in reply to volver - What about telling posters you want to get rid of them and their countrymen? Is that OK? Asking for a friend.

Calendargirl Tue 27-Dec-22 17:18:40

Oh Volver, not guilty though.

Have never said I want to get rid of certain posters and their countrymen.

Probably worse than pointing out spelling mistakes.

I never said it was you. But somebody said it. 😮

Heartbroken, I was. 😉

Jaberwok Tue 27-Dec-22 17:30:56

A real spelling mistake or perhaps an inadvertent one? particularly if someone doesn't proof read. We all hit the wrong key sometimes. Either way, it is rude to point it out.

volver Tue 27-Dec-22 17:52:32

I wonder what the probability is of mis-spelling the same word the same way in two consecutive posts, inadvertently?

Katie59 Tue 27-Dec-22 17:55:18

A large number of Scots say they don’t like the UK and don’t want to be part of it, so I can say go, be independent but no cherry picking.

Jaberwok Tue 27-Dec-22 19:14:47

It's still rude to point it out whatever the reason.

Jaberwok Tue 27-Dec-22 19:21:43

Absolutely agree with you Katie59. Independence means exactly that. Sharing a currency? I don't think so, armed forces? ditto, border control? definitely, submarines will be Plymouth or ?, and so it goes on..

volver Tue 27-Dec-22 19:39:16

And they wonder why we want away... 🤣

Fair enough, Katie59
Sauce for the goose etc.

However, The English are supposed to maintain a stiff upper lip and say "Jolly good show, whatever you wish, old man, good luck"

The Scots can then take the High Road or the Low Road, whichever they wish.

🙂

As long as I'm in Scotland afore ye.

Which I will be, because I'm already here...

confused

Not all Scots are rude, Jaberwok
I can vouch for that.

And some are rude and expect you to be rude back again and neither of you gets huffy. Both sides can then have a good laff, larf, laugh (take your pick) together. And a whisky.

😁
But which road will you take home from Northumberland?

I confess my ignorance by not knowing.

volver Tue 27-Dec-22 19:50:35

The A68.

wink

Callistemon21 Tue 27-Dec-22 19:54:24

Thanks 🙂

I will get there one day.

Callistemon21 Tue 27-Dec-22 19:55:29

Oh, I'm on the left hand side, so the A74.

volver Tue 27-Dec-22 19:57:18

M74 now.

Gets you here quicker. wink

Callistemon21 Tue 27-Dec-22 20:01:07

Oh dear! I am behind the times.

Not been further north than Derbyshire for many a year.

Elegran Tue 27-Dec-22 20:02:42

You do know that taking the low road in that song means being in the grave, Callistemon, don't you?

Joseanne Tue 27-Dec-22 21:23:36

My 7 year old DGD came out with a daft piece of information over Christmas; that she will likely have seen 4 coronations in her lifetime. Or maybe not so daft? I have yet to see one at my "old" age!

Callistemon21 Tue 27-Dec-22 21:28:40

Elegran

No, I had no idea!

Sorry, didn't mean any offence.

Elegran Tue 27-Dec-22 22:07:57

No offence here - I just thought (as it turned out) you hadn't heard of that interpretation.

I was waiting for PaddyAnne's reaction!
