It's so horrible - I can't stop thinking about it, and if the 14 year old mentioned by wwm2 upthread suffered as a result, Clarkson should be put in the stocks with the editor of the Sun beside him.

I would dearly like to ask him how he would feel if someone who took against her for some reason said something similarly violently offensive about her.

What is at the root of this hatred - especially the kind of poisonous spewing from some men of a 'certain age' against women? I can only assume they feel threatened in some way... perhaps their over-inflated - and very delicate - egos can't handle the fact that they are growing old and, along with the rest of us, becoming less relevant to society? Or possibly he's just a misogynist, an inadequate who can't face up to his own inadequacy so has to look for a target to blame for it.

There have been over 6,000 complaints about the Sun article to the press regulator.
Appalling that this even reached print.

Whilst I’ve only heard his comments from game of thrones. As he’s always coming out with stupid comments why are ppl surprised. Don’t watch him or like himself but as we live in a free country he’s allowed his opinions and we are ours

One is allowed to have disgusting opinions but there are laws about the open publication of some of them.

Clarkson is a vile bully! What he’s written in this article is utterly disgusting, and how dare he say that everyone who’s the same age as him thinks the same. He doesn’t speak for me, or for millions of other right-minded people. What a toss**!

What I can’t believe is Sky reading out exactly what Clarkson said.

I believe so. I've never seen it but I remember a partner describing such a scene some years ago, so I recognized its source.

It is true. In fact I commented on GN about it the other day. Or yesterday. Whenever it was.

My husband and sons always watched Top Gear when he was on it but I had to leave the room if I caught sight of Jeremy Clarkson. I admit I can't stand James May or the other guy either. All three were totally juvenile.

So called celebrities seem to think they can say absolutely anything and we'll hang on their every word and admire them for it. Not long ago Jo Brand made a horrible joke about throwing battery acid at politicians! When you think of what Katie Piper and others have suffered, that was an awful way to get cheap laughs.

That's no apology. He says he's sorry for making the reference to GoT, and causing so much hurt. No apology for comparing Meghan and the first minister of Scotland with a serial killer. No apology for saying everybody of a similar age thinks like him.

The Walk of Shame in GoT happened to Cersei, who was an adulterous, murderous woman who let nothing stand in her way in the quest for power.

Not good enough, Jeremy.

Maybe he'll get cancelled.
