Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark with signs of rain overnight here in brackley this morning.
Today , I want to venture out maybe a local shop and housework .
Further a field will depend how I cope.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all from a damp, windy south Hampshire, just do what you feel comfortable with Mick. I’m up early as I’ve been coughing since the early hours, annoying me and probably MrJ.
Met up with friends from Spain last night, a good old catch up. No real plans today, back to a semi normal diet after the few days of excess.
Enjoy your day all 🦩🦩

grandMattie Wed 28-Dec-22 06:08:24

Good morning from Bristol where it is still dark and damp!

We had a lovely walk in Leigh woods yesterday morning before the rain set in. DGD1 and I went to get a take away falafel lunch after which I was packed off for a nap. We then player an escape-room type game, which was great fun.

I have packed and am ready for my return journey home mid morning. I hope there aren’t too many hiccups with the strikes, etc. 🤞

I hope all those in distress, sickness and anxiety have a gentle day. Carpe 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a wet and windy Torbay.

I hope all will go well, Mick, but do take care of yourself.

Yesterday, I rang Brittany Ferries regarding our next trip to France. I’d recently booked it online then, when the paperwork came through, noticed I had two cabins in each direction! Since DH and I are still speaking to each other, that seemed excessive! I also renewed my annual travel insurance which, inevitably, involved an increased premium because of my heart surgery.

Today, DD2 and family fly to Lanzarote for a short break (a consolation trip after Australia was cancelled) They've all been unwell in the past 10 days so I'm hoping some Winter sun will be just the tonic they need.

Safe journey to grandMattie and others on the move today. Coughs are so annoying, Jaxjacky, especially at night.
Happy hump day! 🦩🎅🏼🎄⛄️🦩

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s raining steadily.

I had a lovely time with Beechnutella and her fella. He cooked and she sorted something out for me on my laptop. Some roadworks on my journey home yesterday. One lot I was glad I was playing follow the leader on.

I’m up earlier this morning as I have something on my mind and couldn’t get back to sleep. I’ve done my exercises and had breakfast.

Wishing you all a pleasant day, safe travels and good luck with bargains if you’re off to the sales. 🦩

Good morning from a wet and windy South Downs. No doubt I will get blown along with the dog when we venture out in an hour or so.

Just doing some online food shopping and finalising my NYE menu. We will then be back to normal eating and hopefully gradually lose the poundage we’ve accumulated over Christmas. I used to celebrate 12th night with a nice meal for friends, but our weight will no longer tolerate such excess, so we stop at new year now.

Podiatrist today, and pop into the flower shop for flowers to decorate the table and off- licence to buy BiL a nice whisky for his birthday on NYD.

Vegetable moussaka for this evenings meal.

Hope everyone has a splendid and restful day.

Those posts I have seen so far seem to find people in a reasonable state😄.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dark south Hants - I haven’t peeked outside yet to check on the weather so will assume it’s the same as Jaxjacky posted.

I hope your journey home goes well grandMattie and anyone else travelling today.

Thank goodness you spotted that in good time Ashcombe

Yesterday I really didn’t feel well - so much so that I didn’t bother getting dressed all day but slept on the sofa on and off throughout the day. Still have a slight headache but fine otherwise - which is just as well as I need to DO STUFF!
A general tidy up and a good dog walk for the pooch as he missed out yesterday. DH took him out - but because I wasn’t there AND it was raining, he refused to go further than up the road to do his business and then he hot-footed it back home!
We also plan to see 2 of the GDs to give them their presents.
Have the best day you can folks - thinking of those with worries and ailments 🦩🦩🦩
Hugs and 💐for you all x

Good morning everyone, it’s a wet and blustery start here in Wiltshire.
Not a lot happened here yesterday, I popped to the supermarket first thing, only about a dozen shoppers there, all men oddly! Then pootled around and did very little 🙄😊
I hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all from a possibly damp West Oxfordshire. I need to do a Waitrose shop today and supervise moving the furniture back! We ate in the conservatory over Christmas so need to put the Dining Room furniture back. There are still leftovers in the fridge and I made a batch of stock yesterday with three Guinea fowl carcasses which needs boxing and freezing. I can’t believe it’s nearly 2023 and that I will be 70 in April! I spoke to my sister in Australia on Boxing Day and she’s booked her flight. My brother is hoping to come but his health isn’t the best. Have a good day all of you, especially those who are travelling. It seems a bit wet and windy today.

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet and windy corner of Somerset.

Ventured to a surprisingly quiet shopping centre yesterday. Enjoyed browsing and pleased with a couple of sale sweaters. Staying home today, some dust to remove and a general catch up after I’ve checked a neighbours home. Our elder son calling for a cuppa at some point.

Safe trip grandmattie and everyone else on the move. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

luluaugust Wed 28-Dec-22 07:26:10

Good morning it’s still dark and still here in W Kent. DB off home today and we are hoping to catch up with our oldest friends, it will be good to be together again.
Wishing you all the best

Pittcity Wed 28-Dec-22 07:28:20

Good morning from a dark, damp Colchester. 12 degrees and rain is the forecast.
Our regular Wednesday morning coffee meetup is going ahead in the City centre. I'll take the short walk over although I don't think many will be there.
I'll pop into Sainsbury's on the way home for something for tea. We are of the Urmston school of nipping to the supermarket larder daily.
Love to all 🦩 x

BlueSapphire Wed 28-Dec-22 07:31:01

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton, but as I'm not going out today it's not going to bother me. Need to be showered and dressed soon as the cats are being delivered home by 9.30 am.

Had a quiet day when I got back yesterday; read the papers and caught up with some programmes I had recorded over the holiday. Will probably be the same today. Have nothing that absolutely has to be done. Oh, just remembered a Sainsbury's delivery this afternoon.

Hope Wednesday is pleasant and peaceful for all. Safe travels for those on journeys.

Marydoll Wed 28-Dec-22 07:41:26

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where yesterday we had everything from black ice and snow to rain of biblical proportions.

Hoping all the poorly wee ones are on the mend. Apparently there is no Amoxcyllin to be had here, so many children are ill,
That is so concerning.

Safe journey too to all who are travelling. GM, fingers crossed there are no hiccups.

kittylester Wed 28-Dec-22 07:44:38

Good morning from a dark North Leicestershire. My bedside Alexa tells me it is 7°.

I'm not doing a lot today (there's a change) but DH is going to the gym.

My first attempt at driving went well. DH was concerned about the wall as I backed down the drive but I missed it. We only did a few errands but I then needed a sit down and a little doze.

I expect MrUrms is happy this morning. DH isn't!!

Have the best day possible everyone.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 28-Dec-22 07:50:02

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.
I had a right mare of a day yesterday where the saying stupid is as stupid does really fits me. It ended with me burning three of my fingers by putting my mettalic handled mug of tea to warm up in the microwave. So I’m all plastered up just when I’m going on holiday on Friday. I’ll renew the plasters later this morning. We have a large Aloe Vera plant which came in useful. What was I thinking.🤦 microwave is still working thank goodness.

It’s my GSs 8th birthday today so DS is bringing him over this morning to see us. Then he’s handing him over to his Mum. We are out at the casino with friends tonight for a meal and they are staying over.
I must go and wrap GSs gifts.

Have a lovely day all. Safe journeys. Thinking of those with worries, stress and illness. 🌻🌻

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Still dark but dry.
Sis&DBiL arrived very late having met a multiple crash on the motorway. He probably took the scenic route after that forgetting it would be darkwink
We still managed to talk until the early hours.
My DS didn't make it here from further north and drove straight home his girls having both tested +ve for Covid.
I have told him I'll post the DGD presents and drink his!

A NZ cousin is expected today for lunch so I had better wash last night's dishes
The dishwasher fused all the kitchen plugs yesterday but after boiling water for tea on the gas hob I googled how to fix the fuse and it came back on. Yay!
small victories

I hope all the travel plans and days go well for everyone here

harrigran Wed 28-Dec-22 07:58:32

Good morning from a dark, damp NE.
Yesterday was a day of agony with my neck and shoulder, the painkillers did not ease the pain, I ended up wearing a heated collar and a small hot water bottle stuffed inside a cardigan.
DD and SIL are coming to take me shopping so that I can feed the family again at the weekend.
This afternoon the whole family are going to my elder sister's for coffee and cake, rare occasion when we get to talk to cousins as well.
Have a good day everyone.

Gala Wed 28-Dec-22 08:02:07

Good morning from Sefton. It's damp, dreary & dismal out there. Rain forecast for later.
Off to the fair today with both GDs & 1 set of parents. Other mummy & daddy are having some time to themselves. So glad this fair is indoors. That will be it for the day.
Take care all.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 28-Dec-22 08:02:21

Good morning all from East Yorkshire.

Yesterday we had a run out to Beverley. I bought a few bits in the lovely shops there including some rather nice gloves that have a tartan pattern on them. I said to DH they will be nice to wear at Christmas times. He said so you won’t wear them till next year then ? Doh of course I will! Also managed to get some woolly tights in the sale at a reasonable price but still more than I would normally pay. Even the car parking had gone up so we detoured to the Tesco one free for 3 hours. That was ample time as the rain started to come down.

No plans for today. I had a Christmas gift from M&S that I need to exchange. As we don’t have a store close by it means a trip to Leeds or York. Neither of us feel up to that and have things on after today so it won’t be till next week at the earliest.

Hope your grandson has a wonderful birthday shazza and ouch for those fingers.

Have a good day everyone.

NannyJan53 Wed 28-Dec-22 08:02:27

Good morning from a damp and dull Black Country.

Managed to get to the gym yesterday morning, it felt hard going.

MrJ shot out of bed at around 7am (most unusual) he heard the dustbin men. We hadn't even given it a thought it was collection day! He had to chase them up the road smile. He is now back in bed with a cuppa. Not wearing my hearing aids in bed, I don't hear a thing.

Today I am taking 2 of DGD's Ten Pin Bowling, whilst DD and SIL take the opportunity to go out to lunch.

Cold leftover Turkey and Ham with salad and pickles tonight.

Wishing you all a good day, with special thoughts to those feeling unwell or their family members

Urmstongran Wed 28-Dec-22 08:03:29

No Matt again.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s raining and is currently 6°C according to Alexa. The rain louds must be keeping us warm.

We are off mid morning to pick my stepfather up en route to the M&S Food Hall at White City. His supplies are getting low he tells me and we don’t want to go much later as party people for NYE will be buying soon. Coffees in their cafe and cake for those not on a diet (!).

No other plans which is nice.
Enjoy your Wednesday - whatever your plans. x

dragonfly46 Wed 28-Dec-22 08:07:24

Good morning from a damp Leicestershire.

We are sending our way to Brighton today to see our DGC. Apparently we are going ice skating tomorrow so could be fun - or not!

Wishing everyone a good day.

dragonfly46 Wed 28-Dec-22 08:10:57

Wending not sending!

Grandmadinosaur Wed 28-Dec-22 08:15:59

I have just been reading elsewhere that in Spain today it is Innocents day. There equivalent of April Fools Day. I’ve never heard of that before! Wonder if you are aware of it Urms ?
