Yesterday I ate a whole big box of Maltesers. By myself.

And I’ve just made enough pastry for another 2 dozen mince pies - all to be scoffed by 12th Night, naturally. To be entirely fair they’ll only be very little ones, just a couple of mouthfuls. But at least they’ll use up the last of the mincemeat.

I go to my daughter's or son's fiancées for Christmas Dinner & New years day ... when my hubby was here, I did dinner & tea here , so used to leave things of a teatime out ( covered up for next day ) even instead of breakfast ate dips with biscuits , trifles etc ... yummy ... I did treat myself to dips etc this year ... just made a pig of myself ... as I have to be careful with my cholesterol also need to loose weight, ate loads of chocolate, lots of things I shouldn't have eaten I ate New Years Day no more ... so no more chocolate for me ... one year my daughter & myself gave up chocolate 🍫 for a whole year ... I say enjoy what you eat, shame to waste it or give it away ... yes given & giving my chocolate away ... ENJOY 😉

Well, I have just celebrated my 80th Christmas, in my usual expansive way.

I have recently had test for diabetes and I am in no danger at all, my blood pressure is well within normal limits, without any medication and the probabilities of me having a heart attack or stroke in the next 10 years is exceptionally low for my age. I am not on any medication.

So as far as I am concerned I intend to spend all my remaining Christmases. as I have always done. They are clearly doing me no harm at all.

In fact having all my family visiting and staying with us at Christmas, is probably very good for my mental health!

Munched my way through a tin of Green & Black mini choc bars, with some help from DH and I've helped him with the Ferrero Rocher. I think there may be a box of mince pies in the freezer.

Last year (2021) between Christmas and New Year I met up with my sister, our DDs and GCs for a walk, followed by coffee and cake in a nearby cafe. It was lovely so we wanted to do it again this year, but the weather was awful.
I invited them to come to us, and bought loads of buns and cakes to have with hot drinks. When they arrived they had stopped off at the bakers' and bought more!
I ate nothing but cake for the rest of the day. blush

I have been quite restrained this holiday season and been eating mostly a lot of home made soups. I’m saving myself for my Xmas present starting Monday for a week all inclusive holiday to Madeira! I plan to do it justice!!

I have been a bit piggy with goodies generally but especially some high end chocolate. I bought some chocolate salamis (shaped like one, but pure chocolate. nuts, fruit and brandy), from a local chocolate shop. I gave 2 as gifts, ate one in an evening and you have now reminded me that the other is still there and now it’s calling out to me! Eat me, eat me…..

Well, I have finished the chocolate Baileys and there is just one bottle of prepared mulled wine left.
