Nothing about the Royals

This thread is nothing about the Royal Family.

Here is a joke -

Helvetica and Times Roman walk into a bar.
“Get out of here”, shouts the barman, “We don’t serve your type in here”

And a pretty picture -

Which font do sky-writers use?
Arial (my preferred font).

I attended the baptism ceremony for my best friend’s baby the other day. He was baptized Comic Sans. I suspect the Vicar used the wrong font.

Bob Marley's favourite font... Sans Sheriff

Thank you all for making me smile, I’m having a bad morning.

Have you heard about the new Japanese font ?
Times New Ramen

Here’s the Winter Flowering Jasmine in our garden. We cut it right back in October.

Juliet27 Sat 07-Jan-23 11:13:34

That’s done really well - I love winter jasmine. So cheery on a drab winter day.

If you do twitter and you want a giggle have a look at the link on my 'Bored by the 'Spare' thread.

Type the word ‘meteorite’ into google and wait!

Here's my peace lily, the only house plant I've managed to keep alive in 53 years of marriage. It was bought by my friend over 20 years ago. She sadly died aged 52. I water this plant when I remember and do nothing else to it. It's a happy soul. smile

volver Sat 07-Jan-23 11:26:12

Oh that's great!!

volver Sat 07-Jan-23 11:26:51

That was for nanna8.

But the peace lily is great too!

The last few Quality Street and I don’t like coconut or the penny toffees 😥

Mizuna Sat 07-Jan-23 11:49:57

Not about fonts or flowers but may make you smile. My 5 year old grandson was given a child's metal detector for Christmas. First thing he said when I collected him from school was, 'Nana, can I metal detect your hips please?' Which he did, but no sound as my two new hips are ceramic. 'Try my left knee,' I said, and yep that beeped loudly. grin

Younger Gdd, just 3, said yesterday, ‘Mummy, I love you in the whole world.’ 😍

And we still have all these to eat up! 😱🐷

I love the penny toffees, I will swap you.

MiniMoon Sat 07-Jan-23 12:24:12

We have these to eat, and this is the first of the new season of lemons.
The Twitter thread is worth reading, I had a good laugh.

Great! Thanks, nanna8

tanith, I would take the coconut ones off your hands, but unlike Marydoll I have no swaps to offer as we have no chocolates sad

Marydoll Sat 07-Jan-23 13:06:42

I have two tins of Quality Street hidden in the old hot water tank cupboard. No-one would ever think of looking there. wink

tanith Sat 07-Jan-23 13:22:56

I’d happily pass the coconuts and penny ones over for free 🤢

OnwardandUpward Sat 07-Jan-23 13:24:49

I love coconut. I was given Malibu and bounties for Christmas grin
