My DH was given some very expensive after shave for Christmas which smelt very exotic and intoxicating. He literally left a trail of scent in which ever room he went and it lingered for hours. Strangely enough, I have started to develop headaches and realised this morning that it was DH's after shave that was causing the headaches with its potency. Poor chap has had to relegate it to the bathroom cabinet when he is in my company. I suppose he could wear it when he goes to the gym or does his sports.

Witzend, you`ve brought a memory back, I used to love Norman Hartnell`s In Love. Another favourite was Flambeau, by Faberge, but it`s not been available for many years.

Having just read the first third of THAT book by PH. It is Eau Sauvage that is favoured by our King. PH. Describes how the scent would linger in the room long after Charles had left.

Oldbat me too! I went to meet a friend each week for an evening class and as I approached her house I thought the council had been spraying weeds - the over powering smell made me feel headachy too. I have never liked that scent - it seems quite repulsive rather than the presumed desired effect.
