When I was disabled with a back and neck injury and later end-stage Lyme's disease I used to kid around with the elderly, after they gave me a lowdown on all of their ailments, saying that I must be a junior member of the senior club then. I was a nurse for 32 years and witnessed lots of lives at lots of different ages with lots of problems. It always seemed that there were people at any age who seemed "old" - even teens. I embraced flow arts, yoga, dance, swimming, kayaking, being in nature and eating a whole-foods, plant-based lifestyle to beat the odds. Aging is a gift when done with grace. I have 4 handicapped siblings already in wheelchairs and elderly housing at an early age. I'm grateful that I didn't inherit that disease and always prayed that epigenetics was real. All we can do is be the best that we can be. Love everybody. Eat right. Exercise. Pray. At any age.
