In view an the excellent thread about us often looking backwards, let's have a thread about looking forwards then.
So, have you anything planned for the next few months?
Would you like to achieve something? Go somewhere?
Learn something new? Meet someone new?
Anything, as long as it involves looking forwards.
I would certainly like to travel somewhere new and hope I achieve that at least.

Not sure I’m looking forward but hey ho…
DH died last July leaving me rattling in a house which is too big for me and too far away from DD. I’m expecting this house will be sold soon, an apartment purchased the other side of the country and a new life starting up. Again. For the sixth or seventh time since I came to England, but this time I’ll be on my own.

Can’t wait for my beautiful white clavinova to arrive next week! So excited to revive all my old piano music, some from my childhood. Have wanted a piano for ages….I didn’t even know what a clavinova was until my friend introduced me. Best thing is I can wear earphones and play anytime of day or night without disturbing DH….😂 Can also turn down volume if g children want a go.
Looks and plays just like an acoustic piano and so much easier to install in our first floor sitting room!

i am due to move in March. i am in a flat unsuitable for me as I am disabled, it has meant me being housebound for about 3 years. A couple of weeks ago the council offered me a ground floor, disability adapted flat. New development and not finished yet, it is going to be hard work to arrange the move but I am looking forward to it, at least I will be able to get out.

Looking forward to going to see 'The Lady in the Van' a local theatre group production in February, a meal out with friends in March to celebrate the retirement of one of the group. The start of rehearsals for 'Me and My Girl' at the Op and Dram Society I'm involved with and our next 'annual girlie holiday' (well long weekend) this year we're off to the beautiful coastline of Northumberland. We have a planning night a month before to decide on menus and places we would like to visit. In the evenings we play game, chat and have a drink, it's a wonderful weekend.

Taking my GS to see Matilda at the theatre in London in a couple of weeks. In June we are going to see Bonnie Raitt in Oxford. In August it is our silver wedding, so hoping for a family get together. In September we are going to an island called Korcula in Croatia. I try to plan something nice once a month, so that there is always something to look forward to!

We are having our thrice postponed trip to Vietnam and Cambodia in March. We should have gone the week the first lockdown was announced but luckily our lovely travel agent was able to sort things after a colleague's clients ended up in quarantine in Hanoi or Saigon!!!

We are looking forward to DH finally qualifying for his pension this summer. Our government has increased pension age so much for those born after 1952 like DH that he has had to wait six years longer for his pension than we had planned for.

Crossing our fingers that they don't sabotage his pension once again. If it goes through we intend to get an estimate for having the loft over the main house insulated, which should make a great difference to our heating bills.

New windows and outer doors will probably need to wait til next year, but should be possible then.

I dream of having the front garden paved, and finding a garderner to mow grass and cut hedges in the back garden.

And we both long to go away for a holiday.

I feel it is unlikely that we will be able to do it all, but there is no harm in hoping or getting estimates, is there?

• An end to the Ukraine war, with a victory would be nice
• Not my birthday (I hate MY birthday), but I love celebrating yours!
• An election outcome on my state’s Supreme Court contest tipping the balance to a liberal majority preserving women’s rights!
• My youngest (33 yr old) Niece’s wedding
• A coup in the Kremlin
Cheers!

We are off to Cape Verde on Thursday for a 2 week sunshine break. Then in March we have tickets to see Graham Gouldman (10cc) and then Shirley Valentine with Sheridan Smith in London on our 54th Wedding Anniversary in April. Hopefully we are also going to see my middle son in Australia for Xmas. Can’t wait for all these things although don’t want to wish my life away. It’s going quick enough as it is grin

70th Birthday in March. Not relishing that one and don’t want a party or a lot of fuss. Very grateful to have reached it however after a couple of illnesses over recent years. Busy year ahead then as Bruce Springsteen touring and we are packing our cases and our passports and following him to a few gigs. Also taking adored grandog to the coast for a week in summer. Just me him and daughter. Cant wait

Looking forward to Girl From the North Country and an evening with Neighbours cast.
Looking forward to a trip to see a friend in the Lake District, whom I haven't seen for 3 years, and on to my son in Lancashire, with or without husband. I hope M.E. allows me.

More importantly as Gundy says an end to Ukraine invasion and getting rid of Putin.

Kandinsky

I don’t look forward to much anymore tbh.
I feel ( at 59 ) that the best is over.
And that’s not me being morbid or unhappy, I just don’t feel the same about life as I did when I was younger.
My children are all adults now with their own lives. I used to love planning for them, ( us ) now it’s just me & dh it’s quite often boring.
life is good, but there’s no hunger to achieve anything if you know what I mean.
We’ve done it all.
But I am looking forward to warmer weather 😊

I know what you mean (though I'm 70, so older) as we don't live the most exciting of lives so I don't look forward to things in the same way. However I'm happy and very content with the life that we have. We downsized and moved to be near two of my children and grandchildren two years ago and have finished our renovation so live a very comfortable life now.
I don't feel the neccessity to plan exciting things in the way we used to as I am very happy just living my life.
I agree with you about the weather, we love to eat outside on our balcony overlooking the river as soon as the weather warms up.

I’m looking forward to feeling better in this bereavement stage of my life after my husband died after taking his own life in November. Also when probate is all done and every horrid feelings that go with it. My retirement has been snatched away. I hope as the year moves on to the Summer I will have a clearer view of a new chapter and I am looking forward to that whatever it may bring.

MadeInYorkshire Mon 30-Jan-23 13:50:00

Abso-bloody-nothing sadly, unless I get get a free ticket to the Cheltenham Gold cup in March, and can find someone to take me.

I haven't even got the money to go out and have a coffee and a bun, as that would use up a third of my weekly food money. Without money, you cannot have any sort of life at all ....

Greyduster Mon 30-Jan-23 13:54:26

I am looking forward to this new hip getting stronger, getting back into my car and then being able to pick up the threads of my life again, which ground to a halt last year when DH died. But now is the time to look forward to getting back in the saddle and finding new things to give me hope for the future.
And I’m looking forward to seeing my only grandchild turn 16 in a couple of weeks time. He’s a lovely young man!

I’m looking forward to my coming trip to England this March….such a treat to enjoy an English Spring! Canada is still in the depths of winter at that time of the year.
