Apart from war torn or dangerous places like Russia, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria etc that is
I’d love to visit Canada and see a wolf in the wild.
I wouldn’t want to visit India, it doesn’t appeal with the vast differences between rich and poor. Many people love it, I know that but I just never have felt a desire to go there.

It used to be Iceland I was mad keen to visit, but I’ve gone off that idea now.
Out of interest, I’ve just listed all the countries I’ve visited - 31 - and that includes 3 that we lived in, but I’ve probably forgotten one or two. The only continent missing is S America. Dh visited a lot more for work.

We visited Syria and the Lebanon back in the early 70s - we had planned to return to Syria, particularly to see Aleppo, missed the first time and said to be wonderful - but I gather that’s been terribly damaged in the fighting. So sad.

When we visited before (on our own, not a package) there were no other tourists to be seen at all. We got lost in Damascus, all the signs were understandably only in Arabic, and it took us ages to find anyone to ask who spoke French or English.
That was a very memorable trip.
Beirut was then the ‘Paris of the Middle East’ - very exciting and sophisticated - I do feel very sad for poor old Lebanon now.

I know it’s very boring of me, but I don’t hanker after visiting anywhere else at all.

India. Also Thailand, Cambodia etc. Also Japan, although I did spend a night in Tokyo between flights twenty years ago. Everyone bowed to me, extremely courteous folk. I was shocked at how everyone in UK was so rude when I touched down backnin blighty!!

Vietnam is nice. Being over this way, I have visited most of the countries around here but no African countries or India except an airport transfer once. A really good place was Raratonga, lovely people .

Marmight Colin Thubron hasn’t written a book I haven’t loved! I don’t understand why he’s not better known as a travel writer.

Everywhere has something of interest doesn't it although places filled with British holidaymakers don't appeal at all.
My grandparents are buried in Burma and New Zealand. I've seen the NZ graves but not the Burmese ones.
One DDiL is part Lebanese but has never been there because of the political situation especially in the Bekka Valley where her ancestors were.
If I were her, I'd be keen to go.

My DC have between them been all over the world so I am happy to live vicariously.
I lived in NZ until the age of 10 and travelled here by ship stopping in Australia, Africa and the Canaries.
Now my DS lives in NZ so I fly out when possible. not very often and have enjoyed stopovers in Singapore, Tokyo and Australia.
I have never been to the Americas but have little desire to.
