Do you remove engagement ring when doing messy work?

I've been married over 50 years and have always removed my engagement ring when making pastry, washing up, gardening etc - and at night. My husband has just bought me an eternity ring and I mentioned to the jeweller that I would be removing it along with my engagement ring. He said there is no need to remove either. What do other "Grans" do,please?

I never take either my engagement ring or wedding ring off. I did take my engagement ring off once a few years ago to have a new shank fitted. Now I couldn't get either of them off over the knuckle, even if I wanted to.

Only when making pastry.

Only take my engagement ring off at bedtime. The style of my eternity ring doesn't sit well with wedding and engagement ring (too large, DH bought it on his own and I didn't have the heart to have it changed) so is worn on my right hand. This too only comes off at bedtime.

I’d never taken either of them off until a recent CT scan required me to remove all jewellery. I wasn’t sure they would come off, but managed it with a struggle.

Sadly I had to have my wedding ring and engagement ring cut off due to arthritis in my hands, but before that I never took them off for anything.

Usually take rings off at knight. This goes back to when I was stung on my finger joint whilst on holiday abroad and the inflamed joint swelled and turned purple. In the morning it was worse and had turned black so I was glad I had removed the wedding ring. My present ring was my mothers and is a little too large so I have bought a little silver ring from Brighton Lanes to help to keep it in position.

night!! Actually I quite often forget to replace them when I take them off occasionally for household chores. And sometimes forget to put them on in the morning.

been married 50 years don't wear an engagement or wedding ring. I stopped wearing costume jewellery rings/bracelet/watch during covid as where I worked I had to wash my hands 20+ times a day and keep taking them off and putting them on was a nightmare, just started wearing them again this year
