Good morning, it’s a damp start here in a Wiltshire village, I can see by the streetlights it’s drizzling. I’m glad I got most of the garden tidied over the last few days 😊
Good luck for the op at the end of the month Mick, I hope all goes smoothly.

Yesterday DH and DDog went for a 4 hour walk, I had a lovely quiet morning pruning the climbing roses, tidying the house and then starting on the hood for the baby jacket I’m knitting.
Today we have a grocery delivery early, a log delivery late morning and I have art group this afternoon.
Thai green curry for lunch 😋
Have a lovely day everyone x

Good morning from Bristol, haven’t looked out but I think it’s dry.
After a late breakfast, we all went for a long walk at Portishead, following the coast. We stopped for @ drink and bun before heading home for lunch. Really nice to blow the cobwebs away.

DD and I set off for 6 viewings in 2 hours. The first was ok, but drab, needing a great deal to make it to my taste. Although I’m normally ok on them, this set of stairs gave me the heeby-jeebies. The second one, a GF flat was lovely, though the bathroom needed serious attention from water seepage. The 3rd and 4th were gorgeous, way over budget and costing a king’s ransom in fees and stuff. The fifth had been sold just before viewing. The sixth was horrid, low ceilings, not at all what I wanted, nasty stairs again. Also not in a location I fancied.
I had emotional overload, being teary and snivelling. I made the sudden decision to offer for the second first thing this morning. I don’t know how people cope emotionally viewing dozens of properties.
Although not perfect, it ticks most of the boxes, especially the location. I’ll have enough equity to make it the best possible with what I have. It is empty, so should sell with no hiccups. DD’s BiL is an architect and interior design lecturer, and is a lovely man, so would help with stuff.
Pray for me that all will go smoothly, please. I can’t deal with any more emotion/stress/anxiety.
Carpe diem/horam, dear friends. A la prochaine. 🦩🦩🦩🦩❤️

Good morning from the South Downs. According to my weather app it is raining and 8c. So must get out my Mac and wellingtons for this mornings walk.

Good about your planned surgery mick hopefully by the summer you will be a new man🙂.

Decorators still decorating. He doesn’t seem to be in any rush. Electrician also arriving today.

A new tv to be delivered today as our living room tv has given up the ghost. I think our new one is too big but DH is enthusiastic.

Sainsbury delivery and that is it for today.

Chilli con carne for dinner. I have a food app that should in theory keep me on the straight and narrow, but like all diets it is only as good as the person dieting😳. Still, I keep trying. Taking part in an all colour intake from Monday - the aim is to eat as much variety of colour as possible.

Ashcombe Thu 16-Feb-23 06:55:02

Good morning from a cloudy but mild Torbay (10deg.)

I’m glad you have a date for your surgery, Mick, and no doubt there will be more information from the hospital soon. Rest assured that we shall all be thinking of you and look forward to to hearing how it goes.

No property will be perfect but I’m glad you’ve settled on one, grandMattie, which can be improved relatively easily by the sound of it. A good plumber/builder would soon sort out the bathroom. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Yesterday, we were in Lidl just after 7.00a.m. which was virtually deserted, as were the roads, with it being half term here. I shall miss having DH around to carry the shopping (and for other reasons!!) when he returns to France next week.

Enjoy whatever the day brings and I hope there will be relief for those in pain. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Whitewavemark2 Thu 16-Feb-23 06:58:30

Just seen your post GM .

I do hope things run smoothly, but buying and selling is a very stressful business so you must brace yourself for possible set backs.

But let’s be optimistic and treat it as a fait accompli!

karmalady Thu 16-Feb-23 06:59:35

Good morning, s somerset is drizzly and will be on the gloomy side all day

GM, that was heavy going in Bristol. Viewing more than one property is mind boggling. Fingers crossed for this morning

One more patio clean finished yesterday, the high pressure wand previously did a good job but I missed too many bits. Yesterday I actually worked out how to use the low-down round scrubber with a really good even result

I may well go out for a trip on a bus today

ShazzaKanazza Thu 16-Feb-23 07:04:26

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a rainy Hull.

Pleased you are feeling better Mick from your couple of days unwell. We will all be thinking of you when you have your op at the end of the month.

You do sound very stressed grandMattie you have such a lot to be thinking about. 💐 fingers crossed it all goes smoothly with no hiccups.

I need to be at Son’s house for 8 to be with grandson so he can go to work. I will bring him back to ours and he’s with us until tea time. We will take the day as it comes with it raining. He loves the park so hope it dries up soon.
I shall certainly be looking forward to my glass of wine tonight when we go out to our local restaurant.

Have a good day everyone if you can. Virtual hugs to those suffering illness and stress. 🌻🌻

kittylester Thu 16-Feb-23 07:09:01

Good morning all from a damp North Leicestershire.

I have ironing to do this morning. Hope I can remember how to do it as it will be the first time since September. DH is doing a run to the charity shop with most of my clothes this morning - they are all too big and I am determined not to grow back into them. Scary prospect.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 16-Feb-23 07:09:55

kitty your mojo is back😄😄

Kalu Thu 16-Feb-23 07:15:44

Good morning from Glasgow, still dark outside but it think it is supposed to be dry today.

Hoping all goes well with your surgery Mick
Bon courage GM. A very stressful time for you.

Hairdressers today and a visit to a local shopping mall on the hunt for bedlinen hoping to find what I am looking for in TKMaxx, good quality at a knock down price. It would be wrong not to have a look at clothes if I am in store anyway.

Hoping a good day is ahead for all and better times for those with troubles and worries.

dragonfly46 Thu 16-Feb-23 07:22:42

Good morning from Leicestershire- is it raining out there kitty I can’t see?

I need to be at the opticians for 9am so no lounging in bed.

How exciting a whole new wardrobe kitty!
Pleased you finally have a date Mick we will all be there right with you in spirit.
Ashcombe you will indeed mis Olddudders you have had a long time together this time.
GrandMattie I am pleased you have found somewhere you like. I looked at about 50 houses before my parents found one near me. It was very stressful but worked out well in the end.

Wishing every one a good day.

baubles Thu 16-Feb-23 07:25:09

Good morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

Now that you’ve settled on a property I hope all goes smoothly gM.

This last week at work has almost broken me, I’ve simply been too tired to read or post so I hope I haven’t missed anything important.

It was just bad luck that I had to cover three consecutive weeks and I won’t agree to that again as I’ve realised my limitations. Anyhoo once more into the breech hoping that the donations slow down a little, I had fifty four bags yesterday and I wish I could say they were filled with saleable items. The local tip requires a time to be booked for rubbish drop off and sadly a few people are using us instead.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 16-Feb-23 07:27:03

Good luck GM!
I am up soon to let the decorators in once more. The room is coming along and looks good. I have some admin to do this morning and after lunch I am driving to Kew. I will spend a couple of days with elder son and his family. I haven’t seen them since Christmas - time flies. Daughter is taking tomorrow off and will come from her South London home to Kew to see her niece. I will drive us both back to Oxfordshire where she will come for the weekend. She likes to come home every six weeks or so! Have a good day.

Sar53 Thu 16-Feb-23 07:28:46

Good morning from a damp Essex by the sea.
I had a lovely catch up with two grans yesterday, a good lunch and a short stroll to a coffee shop as the coffee machine was broken in the pub.
We realised that the last time we met up was a year ago so we will make an effort to not leave it so long in future.
GM you sound very stressed, I hope it all works out OK in the end.
No plans for today apart from bed Changing and washing.
Enjoy Thursday everyone whatever you may find to do xx

Michael12 Thu 16-Feb-23 07:30:11

ts Colorectal surgery is what I am having ,
Mick

Pittcity Thu 16-Feb-23 07:34:29

Good morning from a grey, damp Colchester. It hasn't rained here for ages so we're due some.
Mac and boots on for a walk to the big Tesco this morning as we need a couple of things we can't get in the smaller shops. It's good exercise, a chance to look at the clothes and I can only buy what I can carry.

Everything crossed for GM and love to all 🦩 x

Grandmadinosaur Thu 16-Feb-23 07:38:25

Good morning all from a grey East Yorkshire. It feels mild from my cosy bed.
Yesterday was a full on day and I am shattered this morning. Had a man doing work in the garden here. Only one of the two turned up for decorating quotes, met DIL for coffee and handing over of GS. We took him to the park in the afternoon. Came home for DH to have a business call whilst I rang my Dad. He was 85 yesterday and GS spoke to him. He told him he’d lost another tooth to which my dad said so have I but the tooth fairy doesn’t come to me! Also on arriving home we found the toilet appears to have a leak 😬 plumber coming this morning. Then I remembered I had my shopping order coming in the evening so couldn’t settle to relax till it arrived.

Apart from the plumber I have no plans today but plenty to do that will keep me occupied.

I understand your stress GM and fingers crossed all goes smoothly for you.

Have a good day everyone.

Alygran Thu 16-Feb-23 07:41:00

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s cloudy and damp.
I’m up early to take the car into the garage. It’s not firing properly and using twice as much petrol as it should. Hopefully they can sort it today.
A friend is meeting me in town mid morning and we will go off somewhere for the day.
Good news about your surgery date Mick
GM I am sorry that flat hunting is so distressing. Sending a hug.
Have a good day everyone.

Taichinan Thu 16-Feb-23 07:49:12

Good morning all. The sun will be up any minute now, but it's very cloudy today on the Angus coast. We're forecast strong winds later, with tomorrow a bit of a howler. Hatches will require to be battened.
So glad you've found a flat grandmattie and I'm sure you'll have it as you like it in no time. You can do all sorts with interiors to improve them but you can't change location, so it's good that this one is in your preferred one. I do hope all goes smoothly. And with you too Mick. It's good you have a date for your op - you'll be fighting fit again soon.
Welcome back to the ironing board kitty - enjoy!
This is my busy busy day - tai chi, then weekly shop. And then no doubt an afternoon snoozing in front of Countdown and Escape to the Country! There's a rosy glow reflected over the hills, so sun's up and off I must go.
Enjoy your day everyone x

NannyJan53 Thu 16-Feb-23 07:55:02

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country.

As it was lovely and sunny yesterday, we made a start on tidying up the garden. It's amazing how messy the patio area was! Then popped on the bus to Merry Hill, to buy a few bits and bobs. Bus stop is a 2 minute walk and it takes just over 10 minutes. I love my senior pass smile

Well-being walk this morning. We usually do 4-5 miles. Then over to Mums for lunch out.

Fingers crossed all goes well with the Flat grandMattie. It will all be worth it when you are living near family.

Enjoy your day everyone.

monk08 Thu 16-Feb-23 07:55:17

Good morning all from the Black country where it rained overnight.
Glad to hear you finally have a date for your planned surgery Mick.
GM 🤞it all goes smoothly.
Shopping today haven't decided which supermarket yet I'm spoilt for choice.
Enjoy your Thursday and may you all find some ☀️

cornergran Thu 16-Feb-23 08:00:25

Morning Mick, morning All from an overcast corner of Somerset. It’s so gloomy out there, an Eeyore sort of a day.

Frustrating morning yesterday searching for a document I couldn’t find. It isn’t vital, just bugging me. Ironing completed and dust removed the rest of the day was spent curled up with a book. I had planned to venture forth in search of some cards this morning, the grey skies aren’t encouraging me so may sort a cupboard instead.

Good to have the certainty of a surgery date mick, will there be home support for you during your recovery period? That’s brave kitty, enjoy replenishing your wardrobe although I know it’s not the way would have chosen to do it. Your situation mirrors that of a friend grandmattie. She’s a little further on in the process and feels huge relief now things are settled, I hope the same for you and you’ll contact real positives about your new home and the area. Take it easy baubles, a rest is well deserved.

Best press on, need to get the slow cooker going and encourage myself to go out no matter if the skies are grey

Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

Urmstongran Thu 16-Feb-23 08:03:11

No Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp but mild. No sun just a wash of white/grey cloud. We have no heating on though. No need.

We are going downstairs to the bar below in an hour to enjoy a cooked breakfast with the Boy Wonder, L’il Miss and their mum. A treat but she says she wanted to disappear when her cleaning ladies arrive. Then she’s driving them over to a friend’s house where her kids are also on half term.

We have no other plans but I dare say Himself will offer to take the Boy Wonder to football training. I will go round and bath L’il Miss and we can play so her mum can get some lesson planning done for next week.

Have a good Thursday folks. x

Marydoll Thu 16-Feb-23 08:04:27

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where it is 6°C.
Kalu, it use to amaze me that just up the road has different weather from us.
I used to message my colleagues from your area to warn them of snow, when they had none fifteen minutes away.

Do you need to rub it in about TKMaxx ? I could see it yesterday, beside Asda, but did not have the energy to visit.
I must be unwell!

A cheerier note from me today.
DH took me to the surgery to pick up yet another BP medication, (my BP is dangerously high, even when I do nothing) and my jury exemption letter.
I had a chat with the receptionist, whose boys I taught many years ago and who has always been exceptionally kind to me.
It was so good to talk to someone, other than DH.

I then persuaded a reluctant DH to take me to Asda, only five minutes away, on the pretext of getting my prescription dispensed, and also indulge in a bit of shopping.
I didn't last long, but on the plus side, much to my relief, there
were no expected vertigo attacks.
We were on our way home, when I realised that I had forgotten to pick up my prescription. 😞
DH was not amused, when we had to turn back.
I blame him, he was in such a rush to get out of the shop, (hates shopping) that I was so busy keeping up, I forgot! 😉

I got home to find an email from the court, telling me that I must provide a GP letter to support my claim for exemption. (I had already said, I was waiting for my GP)
I duly scanned my letter and five minutes later, got a pleasant reply exempting me. What a huge relief!
Yesterday was one of the better days!

I'm glad you found something GM, once its done up to your taste, I'm sure you will be very happy.

Mick, good to hear you now have a date for surgery and Baubles, please take care of yourself. I can't understand why people use charity shops as a dumping ground.

Have a pleasant day folks, whatever your plans and Blossoming, I hope you start to improve.

Now back to read the thread.
