Good morning from E Kent, where the sky is already lightening
I am starting in loco Michael who is away, having a lovely, relaxing time in Harrogate. I just hope that it isn’t too cold.
Church first thing, then pottering today. I have almost finished clearing out, my problem is what to do with what I’m. It taking.
I had a quiet day yesterday. I went to the supermarket and popped into Specsavers to have my glasses adjusted. I wish I’d done it sooner as my headaches disappeared once they were straightened…
I hope that this Sunday brings contentment and quiet joy to you all.

Good morning everyone from a sunny warm Cape Town..
Had a lovely day yesterday, Kirstenbosch Gardens in the morning, then to the top of Table Mountain after lunch. The cable car was amazing and we had clear views over the city.
Am planning on visiting the shops today for some retail therapy!
Just heading down for breakf

BlueSapphire Sun 12-Mar-23 06:15:48

Whoops, finger slipped and accidentally posted too soon!
Breakfast next, it is 8.15 here.
Photo of Cape Town fron Table Mountain.
Have a pleasant Sunday everyone.

Good morning!
I too have trouble with my new Specsavers glasses Grandmattie, I need to get them adjusted this week., very frustrating.
I’m having a great time watercolour painting here in deepest Somerset, I’ve learned more in two days than in the last many years!
Returning home this afternoon, hoping for a good journey across the county.
BlueSapphire enjoy your holiday, how lovely to be somewhere warmer.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 12-Mar-23 06:37:10

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Church this morning at a church in the Benefice which has many bats! Their poo has to be swept off the pews before the service starts. OH will be glued to the rugby all afternoon so I may make one or two new cake recipes before starting dinner. That will be leg of lamb and various trimmings. It is the final of the Pottery off this evening so I’m looking forward to that. Have a lovely Sunday.

mumofmadboys Sun 12-Mar-23 06:40:49

Good morning all! Walk first thing for me, then church and an online bridge match before lunch. This afternoon I have various jobs to do at home and DH and I usually have a walk together each afternoon. Zoom this evening with two of the lads. Hopefully weather will warm up soon! Have the best day you can

Ashcombe Sun 12-Mar-23 06:53:45

Good morning from a grey but dry and milder Torbay.

I was too tired to do much yesterday after a busy Friday so had a quiet day indoors watching old episodes of Downton Abbey. Very restful! Today it's church then catching up with tasks I ignored yesterday!

I’m glad you’re safely home, grandMattie, and it sounds like you’ve a busy time ahead! One day at a time…!
So, a case of “bats in the belfry”, Ladyleftfieldlover?!
Your painting weekend sounds good, BlueBalou and a great view, BlueSapphire! Wow!

Wishing you all a blessed Sunday. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning from Shropshire where sun is forecast so hopefully the snow will melt.

Thank you for your lovely comments about the photo of H and his friend yesterday☃️☃️

DGD and I walked into town yesterday. The roads were clear but the pavements were very snowy and icy.We did some shopping and went for hot drinks. We tried a new cafe which DGD marked six out of ten!

The children are still here.We will meet DD at the swimming pool where we will watch M have her swim lesson. We will then come home and collapse😴

Great photo BlueSapphire. What an amazing holiday.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Morning All from a gloomy if milder corner of Somerset.

Did very little yesterday, both tired after Fridays excitement. Off out this morning to meet the family for brunch, we’re celebrating more birthdays, it’s that time of year. One granddaughter was 14 yesterday, the other will be 17 tomorrow. She has her first driving lesson booked for the afternoon . Yikes. They were 4 and 7 when we moved here, the time has flown.

Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Pittcity Sun 12-Mar-23 07:06:16

Good morning from sunny Colchester where it's already a balmy 8° and double figures are forecast.
DH is taking DGS1 fishing for a few hours. I'll go for a mooch around the shops and cook a roast chicken dinner later.
Love to all 🦩 x

Grandmabatty Sun 12-Mar-23 07:06:16

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° and snowy. Very grey skies too so either more snow or rain on the way. Ladyleftfieldlover I like bats very much so I would enjoy that church. BlueBalou it sounds like you have had a lovely weekend. Grandmattie you're getting there.
Yesterday I had a busy morning and it culminated in picking up my new specs and prescription sunglasses. That made me happy as they're both lovely and a good fit. I received an upsetting text in the afternoon which has been on my mind ever since. Therefore I had a bad night's sleep and am up far too early. Oh well, there's nothing I can do so I'll have to let it go. I have no plans today and intend to stay in where it's warm. Have a good day all.

kittylester Sun 12-Mar-23 07:31:16

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

We are 'nipping' to Derby this am as DGS3 is 16 tomorrow. We then have to be on hand to collect my brother from hospital where he is having an MRI scan.

At some point there is a piece of pork spare rib to cook and eat.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 12-Mar-23 07:32:19

Morning all

I am feeling extremely relaxed the knots in my shoulders have disappeared thanks to a wonderful massage yesterday followed by a rejuvenating facia at the spa yesterday. It was really lovely to catch up with two of our DiL’s. They knew each other before they married our boys, one was best friends and went to school with the others sister. We chatted over a long leisurely lunch, putting the world to rights.

I have nothing planned other than roast chicken for dinner later.

Have a peaceful Sunday folks 🙋‍♀️🦩

Urmstongran Sun 12-Mar-23 07:34:44

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it just looks meh - not icy nor sunny either. We have booked a table in a favourite pub in Worsley to enjoy a meal out with my stepfather today, so no cooking. Lovely. It means Himself misses the Man. Utd game on tv but after last weekend’s performance he doesn’t seem bothered.

Have a good Sunday. x

Gingster Sun 12-Mar-23 07:38:31

Good morning all and it’s bright and fine here In Essex.
We had a good journey back from Suffolk and were soon settled in here.
Dh and ds1 went to footie and I watched Where the Crawdads sing. A lovely film. I started watching ‘Fall’ last night and will continue this evening. 😫. I know what you mean Urms . Not good with heights!

Today we have all the family coming for a buffet lunch (all except DGD away at Uni) .😢. We haven’t seen some of them since Christmas, so it will be lovely to all be together . It will be noisy and fun! Little pooch adds to the mayhem as she want to lick everyone. It was DGD 4’s 11th birthday yesterday so cake will be on the menu. They went to see the musical ‘And Juliet’ . I hadn’t heard of it . 🤔. I’ll be interested to hear what it’s all about.

We loved Cape Town Bluesapphire . The cable car turns as it goes up and down, so the views are amazing aren’t they. Such a vibrant city.

I’m another who needs to go to Specsavers. None of my glasses are ‘right’. 😤.

Have a lovely Sunday, whatever you’re up to. 🌷

Georgesgran Sun 12-Mar-23 07:43:50

Good morning from Newcastle. I stayed at DD1s following a lovely meal out and present swap last night - belated birthday and half birthday (long story) gifts for the DDs from late February and early gifts for me, for Tuesday. Going down to the Quayside market this morning, then DGS1 has a party to attend, so I’ll nip to DD2 and do something with her and DGS2. A full day, but I jump at every opportunity to spend time with them - one of these days, I might not be able. The weeks just fly by.
Best wishes to all. X

dragonfly46 Sun 12-Mar-23 07:47:05

Good morning from a breezy Leicestershire.

Hoping to walk into town to the vegan market today then roast beef for dinner.

Cape Town looks amazing BlueSapphire.
Enjoy your family day Gingster.
Hoping everyone has the best day.

Grammaretto Sun 12-Mar-23 07:51:47

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is 4° and windy.
DMiL birthday "party" today. I have made her a cake which has sunk rather. She was the baking queen in her heyday and at 98 she will probably still tell me where I went wrong!

I'm glad you are enjoying your holiday
BlueSapphire and hope Mick is too.

I have the cinema tonight so will watch the Throwdown final on catch-up.
Ladyleftfield

Sorry to hear you had an upsetting text
Grandmabatty
Hoping for a happy day for all.

karmalady Sun 12-Mar-23 07:54:40

good morning and s somerset is warm at 8 degrees and sunny

I got a bee in my bonnet about decluttering again, took out an unused puzzleboard, left it in the hall and had remorse overnight, the upside is that I have found a new space, under a bed. While sorting the underbed, I had more remorse about something I had given away, had to slap my hand and not dwell on it

A few bits and bobs to do today, just pottering stuff, nothing onerous including a mucky stove, which I needed to be on long and slow -burning yesterday. Jumper neckline to knit later and then a start on the sleeves, it is growing very fast

The weekends still feel like weekends and sunday here is always calm and peaceful in town. The bells will ring later, I love that sound

monk08 Sun 12-Mar-23 08:06:06

Good morning all from a sunny Black country, we still have a small amount of snow in the back garden.
Yesterday I had my Delia head on made some soup and a chocolate chip banana loaf, worried I'm sickening for something 😀.
Roast lamb for dinner and its dancing on ice final, along with the last Endeavour that's my evening sorted.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Marydoll Sun 12-Mar-23 08:12:11

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where the overnight snow has disappeared, thank goodness.
Thank you for opening up GM.

We had a lovely time with DS and DIL yesterday, with a delicious Italian lunch, which I couldn't finish. It came home with me in a pizza box!
The drive there was fine, but for some reason the roads were extremely busy and stressful on the way back, I just wanted home before the snow started.
DH was unusually silent, with only one comment about my driving.

DH: I had forgotten how jerky a car with gears can be.

Me: Well darling, that's because you have a big fancy, automatic hybrid car, without gears and are reluctant to allow me to drive your baby!

Later on, a huge box arrived for me. I had forgotten that I had ordered ceramic planters from TKMaxx.
All five planters were smashed to smithereens! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I now have a massive box of shattered China, blocking my kitchen.

My only plan today is to watch online Mass, as I missed it last night.
I don't intend to return physically, until I feel confident that I won't feel nauseous or dizzy. I'm also a still bit apprehensive being in crowds and also of people quizzing me about my absence.

Our young curate moves on this week to a new parish, leaving our PP on his own.
I receive a message from our PP, which said:
Second in charge from Friday, 12noon. 😂
I couldn't figure out what he meant.
DH started laughing: The PP is being funny, he means you are in charge, if he is not there! 😉

For those on holiday, have a great time and also thinking of those with worries and ill health.
Have a pleasant Sunday, all.

ShazzaKanazza Sun 12-Mar-23 08:13:52

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a damp Hull.

Little B had a lovely tea party yesterday with us and her other grandparents. GD1 performed for us all and B toddled all over now she has discovered the joys of walking.

Today I’m joining daughter, son and grandchildren at a farm near Scunthorpe. It has a large indoor play area as well.
Grandson has had his hair cut and styled into a proper big boy haircut. As an autistic it’s always been a battle to cut his hair so it’s always been long and this was a massive achievement for him. He looks so proud on the photo. You can see his handsome face properly now.

Have a lovely day everyone and enjoy your family gatherings and Sunday lunches. 🌻🌻

ShazzaKanazza Sun 12-Mar-23 08:15:10

Good Morning grandMattie 💐 Thankyou for opening

GrannySomerset Sun 12-Mar-23 08:16:57

Am early for once as the service in our church is at 9.00 am which is quite a struggle for me. Back there this afternoon as we have the Bishop visiting and, he says, in listening mode. Hope we all have a satisfactory day and for some a convivial one.

ShazzaKanazza Sun 12-Mar-23 08:17:23

BlueSapphire what a lovely view. Your holiday sounds amazing.

Marydoll how disappointed and angry you must be with your delivery.
