ALL GOOD Friends
And jolly good company.
Welcome.

Soop I would be very suspicious of this. It's a common scam
Grandmabatty A couple of pals who are much more savvy with such matters, have recognised it as a scam. they have told the individual that he is not to contact me agin. In fact, they have blocked all future messages that might originate from him. I cannot tell you how relieved we are. I was prepared to go to bed this afternoon. I felt drained as a result of the ongoing pressure to comply with the so-called buyer's persistent messages.
My sister is home. She stayed in hospital for over five weeks. I spoke with her earlier. She has had major surgery and yet, she sounds very cheerful. She awaits the results of the biopsies and said, whether it's to be a course of chemo or radiotherapy, she is ready to commence in the knowledge that it will help her on the road to recovery.
I need to clean the bathroom. Also, a wee mountain of ironing beckons.
That kind of unwelcome contact is very emotionally draining Soop. Please don't do too much. Ironing can wait.
That is so no annoying Soop. A while ago I sold a beautiful handbag on eBay. Days later the buyer got in touch to say it was in dreadful condition. I was all prepared to hold my own ( it was a barely used bag in perfect condition) but conceded and refunded her and told her to keep the bag. Was I wrong? Probably.
Tonight my brother and his partner are taking us out for dinner. There is a good restaurant not too far away which has a reasonable number of vegan/cf things on the menu. Today for lunch she had fake bacon, which looked and smelled horrible. She also had fake tuna. Have a good rest of the day.
That’s so annoying soop but a lucky escape from a dreadful scam, and very wise advice from Grandmabatty and your savvy friends. Sometimes I use Gumtree to sell items, it’s local so cash on collection only. I’ve found that Ebay is generally ok but like llfl says you can sometimes be caught out with a dishonest buyer - nothing is ever easy is it!
I like vegetarian food llfl but not much the fake stuff
Your sister sounds very upbeat and positive soop - good for her!
Hello Kitcheners,I hope your not being scammed Soop.
Well this week has been a roller coaster.!! After our offer was excepted DH decided to get a survey done.He was a bit uneasy about a few things. He was proved right quite a few things came to light and we decided not to proceed.😞It was very upsetting as I’d set my heart on it but we don’t want to move and have major work done. Not the end of the world more places to see next week, hoping our buyers stick with us as the search continues.🤞
Hope your mum improves Grandmabatty, take care.
Lovey photos Grandmarie enjoy.
No sun here and quite cold hopefully better tomorrow.
Enjoy your evening everyone the wine will out later.🍾
Oh that’s a shame Yia but the right decision made, I’d be exactly the same and probably feel upset like you but it was just not meant to be. I’m sure you’ll find your ideal property somewhere soon, take care
That must be disappointing Yiayia but your house is out there.
Thank heavens you were warned in time Soop. I used to sell some of my jewellery on eBay with proceeds going to a charity. It wasn’t a lot of money but some people really tried it on. I refused to send anything until payment was received.
Glad to hear your sister is home and in good spirits, hope her treatment path is in place soon. I received a lovely letter from my cancer surgeon yesterday confirming all scans and tests since my surgery have been clear. He is going to ring me on Monday to discuss any concerns and answer any questions I may have and all being well will discharge me. He is so busy and has been very supportive all through this.
Lady LFL I never like the look of those meat substitute things, I’d rather just eat vegetables. Have a lovely evening.
How disappointing Yia but better to find out now. You’ll find the right place, hope it doesn’t take too long.
The beef shin has been simmering away in the slow cooker all afternoon, it smells wonderful. I’ve just been to stir it and check the seasoning and of course I had to have a taste!
Not such a good time soop. I’m relieved you have friends who can help and support you and sorry you had the experience. Good to know your sister is home and positive
That’s a shame yia, just not meant to be. Good luck with the new viewings.
There’s a beef/beer casserole simmering in our slow cooker, not for today but for tomorrow when our son comes with the teenagers. I’ll check it in the morning, transfer to another container and re-heat when they arrive. They will put the fridge freezer back for us and I hope also move the table the computer lives on. Bribing them with food? Oh yes
.
Good news blossoming, well done you.
Time for a glass of dry white and to elevate my feet. We did some sorting this morning then wandered out for lunch. Gaeden pottering this afternoon followed by a long phone chat with a friend. Down time now
soop that was a lucky escape.
Yiayia that is very disappointing but there is one for you out there.
Grandamab please take care of yourself- you have been running around like a headless chicken and eventually it comes home to roost.
Thankfully your mother did not have a stroke but the confusion is worrying.
It has been a cold, miserable day in London, my heating has been on for ages. Somebody will have to explain to me what warmth and sunshine are. They were promised for today.
Corner I am sure the family will sort everything out- I would if there was a lovely meal waiting for me. With luck you will sleep tonight.
No TV for me this evening- I would prefer to watch paint dry than see the Eurovision Song Contest. Early bed and a good book for me.
Look after yourselves.
*Chatleygirl" I know. I'm running on empty at the moment. She was very alert tonight, just really tired. It was a short visit as I am also tired
Grandmabatty hope you have a decent night’s 💤
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. 🥰
I'm glad you had a good conversation with your dear sister, Soop, it's reassuring for you to hear that she's in a good state of mind. Lucky escape with your online business, it's a minefield out there!
Grandmabatty, please rest as much as you can over the weekend, worry is exhausting.
YiaYia, I'm so sorry to hear that, but you are doing the right thing. Keep searching, seek and ye shall find!🤞
Cornergran, my goodness, you are certainly getting things done...MrC's procedures, your new flooring, and the odour/ hedgehog 🦔... well done you, enjoy your family visit tomorrow.
Blossoming, I'm delighted to hear your good news, you'll be wanting to frame that letter!
Thanks to all for the holiday good wishes. Another lovely day, we had a sail in a yacht ⛵ this afternoon, then we went up in the nearby ferris wheel after dinner, fantastic views. We saw lots of surfers/ paddleboarders on the beach, from our height they looked like tiny black seals!
TOYA, NNGB.
Beautiful pics Granmarie pleased you’re having a good time. We had a long lie in this morning, then brunch on the marina. Bacon rolls and tea, a Sunday treat. It’s cloudier today but still warm and dry. Hope everyone is having a restful Sunday.
Glad your sister is home, soop. Sending good wishes for her.
MrB did a total MrB this afternoon. Our water was off for a while as there was a burst in the mains down the hill. I put notices on the loos: "Water off; don't flush".
Heard MrB Go into the bathroom. Thought: he'll flush it on autopilot. That is exactly what happened! He said he was reading the don't flush note while he pressed the handle. Give me strength!
The consequent racket of air screaming through the system was deafening. Fortunately I had two 4 pint milk cartons full of rain water that i'd collected for houseplants. We tipped them in the cistern to stop the racket.
Hey ho and ho hum! I've often thought that it takes a while for words to actually enter and make a connection in MrB's brain 😂
Case rested!
Baggs 🤣🤣
Looks like Paradise Grannmarie...enjoy every moment.
Charleygirl With reference to your comment on preferring to watch paint dry...I whole heartedly agree.
Yia I well understand that you are disappointed. On the other hand, there will be compensations when, in time, you discover a property that is much more to your liking. I know. We've been in the same position that you are in right now.
Blossoming Your good news has painted a big grin on my silly face.
Grandmabatty We believe that the same scammer has since hacked my FB page. My friends are being asked to be "my friends". If any of you get the message, please ignore it.
Baggs Hey ho! See you very soon.
Thank you, Blossoming and Soop, it is a lovely place and we too enjoy a marina !
We got a taxi to Mass this morning. The folding scooter is a godsend, DH is going to look into these when we return home.
The local parish church was absolutely full today because they were celebrating First Communions. It was great to see so many families in all their finery for this special occasion. DH has never been ' Gospel greedy', but he accompanies me on 'high days and holidays', well he certainly got his money's worth this morning!
We returned via the Marina for lunch and sangria, passing our previous hotel which is undergoing refurbishment this year. It looks more like a rebuild! Grandmabatty, your wee boys would love the big cranes!
Hello 👋 Baggs, thinking of you and yours, especially your DD. Enjoy your catch up with Soop, it'll do you both a power of good.
Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday, take care.
Soop it's a very common scam indeed. My friends have been hacked often and I never respond without contacting them another way. Grannmarie the boys will absolutely love the cranes! Our hotel is at the top of a hill, I believe.
A positive visit to mum this afternoon. I hadn't been impressed with the ward last night but excellent care and lots of visits from nurses today. Mum has been washed and clearly had her hair brushed. She was alert and able to drink her irn bru herself. She managed to blether for twenty minutes then fell asleep. But no sign of confusion which is a welcome change. I am about to sort dinner of roast chicken, broccoli and carrots. New potatoes too and gravy. Then I'll try some raspberries and ice cream. Have a good evening Kitcheners
Beautiful pictures grannmarie such a beautiful blue sky - I’m just a wee bit jealous! That jug of sangria looks very tempting too - enjoy!
I’ve been in and out of the garden most of the day as íts been showery - oh well we had a good day weather wise yesterday so can’t complain 😀
I ordered a new smaller backpack travel bag to take to Cambridge next week, Easy jet have started charging such a lot to take a cabin bag on board for the overhead locker, the cost each way was almost as much as what I’d paid for the flight. You’re only allowed free of charge a small bag that fits under the seat in front. I’m a bit of a skinflint where these ‘extras’ are concerned so I’ve sent a small parcel with pjs, slippers, a few toiletries and clothes down to Cambridge with Royal Mail, only cost me £5.99. So I’ll be squashing everything else into my new bag and travelling very light….
Soop what a nuisance and hassle for you - I hope this scammer doesn’t cause you any more upset and worry - they’re definitely not worth it
Baggs and soop enjoy your get together! 😀😀
Good news about your mum grandmabatty hope she continues to improve over the next few days 💐
brook2704, I keep pj's, slippers a couple of t-shirts and all toiletries at both my daughter's houses so that I can travel light. Lugging a heavy suitcase is not easy as your get older.
Enjoy your visit to Cambridge xx
