Wonderful news,Blossoming 🍾🥂💐
We’ve just got in from quiz at which we, as a team, were dreadful at!
Today I had my (cauterised in February) nose checked over, all fine, until it goes again and I had my ears microsuctioned, expensive.
Your holiday continues to soothe Grannmarie.
So glad to read Blossoming’s news after such a long battle. The whole family must be rejoicing and thanking the care team for a job so well done. Hope Soop gets some good news soon.
My empty afternoon, scheduled for reading, was interrupted by two welcome visitors and a long phone call. Good thing there is always tomorrow.
Good news Blossoming!
This afternoon I have 5 WI committee coming to afternoon tea, as a thank you to 3 who have retired. Baking to be done … It may be warm enough to sit outside, so DH will tidy the patio.
Also SiL arrives with their dog and DGS. He is leaving the Granddog with us for a week or so.
The baby should keep the ladies entertained!
Time to get started …
I'm happy to hear your great news Blossoming, as soop said, a group hug & celebrations.
Hope your day goes well soop, enjoy your meet up with Baggs.
Safe journey tomorrow Brook. Enjoy your family time. We're just back from a couple of days with our DD in Cambridge, (only an hour in car for us!).
Warm thoughts for you all.
Lovely meetup with the Soops. We all ate fish and chips and we blethered. I am not allowed to tell you something that made us laugh the most but I think I am allowed to tell you that soop's appointment was – I quote: "fruitful".
They were going Pieris hunting on their way home at the Tree Shop by Loch Fyne. I could've been nurturing a baby one from a 'layer' in my garden if I'd known they were after one. The Tree Shop will supply I'm sure. It also supplies the best Walnut Nuss Torte ever, in case anyone's passing that way and needs a slab😋
soop didn't think she would visit the Kitchen today but sends best wishes to everyone.
Good evening everyone, thanks so much for all the best wishes.
Glad you’ve had a good day Baggs, looking forward to hearing from Soop whenever and good the appointment was fruitful.
Loving your holiday news and photos Granmarie it sounds fabulous.
Safe journey tomorrow Brook.
I have been out for a walk this afternoon, across the bridge and around the marina.
Have a pleasant evening all.
So pleased you had a lovely time together baggs and thanks for the update on soop Hoping they’re back home safely now complete with the new Pieris and some cake!
A busy day here but almost all done now - DGD picked up and dropped off numerous times and now just in bed. A quick and easy chicken salad almost ready and my small bag for tomorrow packed and unpacked a few times - like always I can’t decide what to take …
Thanks for the lovely holiday pictures grannmarie you’ve got a very good view from your balcony there
I wish I lived a bit closer to DD1 and family gillgran, but the way things have worked out we’re near DD2 and family instead. When we moved up to Inverness almost 20 years ago DD1 was at Manchester University and living away from home, DS was at York Uni and settled but DD2 was too young so had to move up here with us. She really hated it at first and we were the worst parents ever but eventually she met her partner, bought a house, had two children and the rest is history!
Sounds like a busy afternoon nannytopsy hope it all went ok 😀
Meant to say I like the marina picture Blossoming it must be lovely to have a wander around there on a sunny afternoon
Brook safe journey tomorrow. Childcare day over and I visited mum. She was sitting up, watching tv and eating a chocolate chip muffin. Definitely better.
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people!
Jaxjacky, you will be able to hear the grass grow now!
GrannySomerset, did you manage to return to your book today? I love to spend an afternoon reading.
Nannytopsy, I'm sure baby Fergus charmed your guests!
Hello 👋 Gillgran! Hope you enjoyed your family time in Cambridge.
Baggs, that sounds like a good catch up with the Soops. I'm now intrigued about the 'fruitful ' outcome. 🤣
Lovely photo, Blossoming, you are lucky to live near a marina. We really enjoy them on holiday.
Safe journey tomorrow brook, enjoy your family time in Cambridge.
Another ☀ sunny day in Benalmadena. Today we went ' way up high' to the beautiful Mijas Pueblo, for souvenirs, tapas and sangria! Our taxi driver was impressed by how easily the mobility scooter folds down...reminds me of baby buggies! We went to the mirador/ viewpoint beside the wee historic Chapel. I took some photos of the incredible views down to the coast, then went into the Chapel to light candles and say a wee prayer for everyone who needs/ wishes one. Very peaceful.
We are on balcony again, after a delicious Indian themed dinner, now listening to the entertainment from the courtyard below. Nice and relaxing. Last full day tomorrow, time flies...
TOYA, NNGB.
Grandmabatty, 👋, great news about your Mum! Take good care of yourself too.
More lovely photos from Granmarie! ❤️. It can’t possibly be your last full day tomorrow- surely you’ve only just arrived?
That’s such good news, Blossoming and your photo is also splendid.
I’m so glad Soop and Baggs have had a good blether - will we hear more of the ‘fruitful’ appointment, I wonder??
Great news about your mum, GMbatty.
Have a good journey, Brook! I hope it’s warmer down there than here. 🥶
It was a bit of a pottering day for us today. An electrician came to see about installing more lighting and sockets. Much tooth-sucking was involved - it’s all very difficult, apparently. I thought that’s what electricians did - install lights and sockets!
We also pottered to Dunelm. I do like their cafes and it’s a rare trip when I don’t emerge from the shop with some little gem or other. Today’s haul was a cover for the new rotary drier when it’s down and a wooden spatula because I was over-eager in my decluttering last year and now need to replace a few kitchen items.
I’ve heard from my ds2 that he’ll be coming up with the GC at the end of this month. We haven’t seen the wee ones since Dec so we’re looking forward to that. He’s also asked me if I can down in September to help DIL with the children as he has to go away for work for quite a while. Dil also works FT so it’s a bit of a struggle when one of them is away.
Take care, everyone. TOYA. XX
You will enjoy both times with the DGC SueD. Something to look forward to! And good news about your mum GrandmaB.
We have had a lovely afternoon and evening but I was so tired I was in bed at 10.30 and then woke up at 2.30. 🫤
I have done Wordle and quordle, then caught up with your news. Perhaps I can get back to sleep again now?
Glad that Baggs & the Soops managed a meet up.
Night night all
We arrived home at 6 o'clock. Too late to pop into our kitchen for a blether. I shall return a little later for a catch up.
That is a lovely photo of you both, Soop and Baggs
This sums up today so far
Storm... Remember a couple of weeks ago I told you there were days when it's best to make yourself scarce.
Finlay...Oh no...is today one of those days.
Storm...looking like it it's going to be.
Finlay.. But it started off so well..Dad plonked me on the bed just as he was leaving for work and I wrapped myself round her head and farted and snored for at least half an hour.
Storm..I know Bro...I was fooled too. All that washing and ironing done by 10.30 could have meant she would have been in the garden by 10.35.
Finlay... Well why wasn't she and why are we down in this dark place.
Storm... It's called the cellar... She comes down here to work on that box thing on the desk.
Finlay...well that's ok then isn't it?
Storm...nope..see those boxes ...they contain 'Summer Clothes '
Finlay...do we have Summer Clothes..?
Storm..No we don't which is why you will never see us performing the spectacle that's about to take place.
Finlay....Gulp. is it going to get really bad.
Storm...it can go two ways...
Finlay... which way do we want it to go...
Storm... Just hope and pray that when she opens the boxes and starts taking things out and holding then up against her that she starts smiling and at end of it all she skips (poetic licence) up the stairs humming Canol y Llan very loudly.
Finlay...and the other way it can go?
Storm... That's when it can get dangerous... Her face turns a funny colour especially when she tries to do up that zip thing and her lallies won't be contained by the material stretched tight across them and explode out from under her armpits. Clothes start flying in all directions and she mutters incomprehensible sentences that sound like' nothing but a lettuce leaf until August'...'b.st..d things have shrunk in storage'. Then she grabs a black sack and starts thrusting armfuls of stuff into it whilst sort of whimpering.
Finlay...I don't think I want to be here today
Storm....no choice Mate but if you see me scarper at speed up those stairs it means its all going Pete Tong and I suggest you hotfoot out of pronto.
Storm....Finlay where are you? Finlay bruv what are you doing?
Finlay... I'm up here in the sitting room eating through the internet cable again.
Storm...Good thinking... That'll distract her. I'm off to dig up those fancy named green things she put in the garden yesterday.
Beautiful photo of you both!
It will be good to spend time with your DS and DG Sue, and it sounds as though your new home is really coming together.
Hope you’re well rested today nannytopsy
Thank you for sharing that lovely photo soop, I’m so glad you had a good catch up, it will have done you both good.
That’s hilarious Neine, you really should write a book! Your stories cheer me up. Hope the sorting is going well …
Hope you enjoyed your visit to the National Gallery LadyLFL.
I’m trying to get all the info together for a financial review. I’ve updated HMRC with my only source of taxable income and I definitely don’t owe them any money
. My financial advisor looks after all my investments, which is not as grand as it sounds! He makes sure I take full advantage of tax free investments such as ISAs or whatever they’re called. My poor wonky brain finds all this a trial and Mr.B is not great at budgeting! He’s better at practical things, being a retired engineer.
Hope your mum is in good spirits Grandmabatty.
Back to the paperwork…
I had a great visit to the National Gallery. I had lunch there too and found myself in the shop at one point
I think there were fourteen stops on the tube from Kew. My son’s partner isn’t feeling too well today so I’ll probably cook dinner tonight. Usually, I’m wary of using someone else’s kitchen but in an emergency! Have a good evening.
We visited the Tree Shop garden centre on our way home from Glasgow. Spent more than we intended.
. This afternoon I've been helping Mr Soop with potting and planting. Time to make a pot of tea and reeeeeeeeeeeeeelax,
Love to you all.

I hope you don’t mind me intruding on your thread to say you are two very beautiful ladies, soop and Baggs
Better news about your Mum Grandmabatty 👍
Pleased you and Baggs had a good meet up soop lovely picture.
Sounds brilliant llfl haven’t been to Kew for years.
Dentist this morning, a cancellation meant I could go and query what I thought was a problem, it isn’t, so a quick in and out, free too.
Enjoy your evening.
