What I find on here quite often, is a complete disregard for nuance. It is often suggested that, let's say, nobody under 25 can go to prison and anybody aged 16 who wants to change gender can make irreversible decisions.

I find it odd. Its like everything's black or white, there's no in between. Judgement. There is room for judgement.

Does that mean the whole (independent, non political) judiciary is at fault? Is a laughing stock?

The sentencing guidelines were put into place last year and were backed by SNP ministers.

There seems to be a move towards favouring certain sections of the community which may not be unique to the SNP but has certainly brought them to prominence elsewhere.
Committing “Isla Bryson ” with a very obvious penis and two convictions for rape to a women’s prison was one. Sentencing guidelines somehow including a non-custodial sentence for the rape of a 13 year old, now being another.
Where is common sense in all this? How confident would you feel to be governed by people making such decisions?
If the SNP is not merely about independence for Scotland but about responsible government, it needs to do better than this.

Just as well we're not governed by Judge who made the decision, or the Prison Service which decided where to put Bryson then, eh?

It angers me a lot that the SNP/Scottish Government get blamed for things they don't do. A Lot. There is certainly an idea that if anything that goes badly in Scotland, it must be the SNP/Governments fault. (Even the things that go well get lied about and made into a bad thing, but that's a whole other thread.)

Those who don't think the SNP are doing an acceptable job, vote them out next time. Except, oh, of course... many of you won't have a vote because you live in a different country.

We are all entitled to have opinions on anything we choose.

As I said above, everyone's entitled to an opinion.

Some of us just don't think its our place to tell other people how to run their countries.

Murrell arrested in connection with financial irregularities. Not helping police with their enquiries. Just arrested and now in custody.

It is not good for any country when someone who was high up in the party of governance is arrested.

Be it Scotland, England, America or elsewhere it can/could leave the electorate with a nasty taste in its mouth and resurrect the often repeated mantra they are all the same which is not good for democracy.
