Feeling really happy today

Today I got all my bed linen dried in glorious sunshine, smells so fresh, and the spaniel and I had a rain free walk for two hours in the woods, she did flush out a couple of pheasants, but they soared away over her head free to fight another day/spaniel!
So I’m asking, hoping something has made you happy?

Hi two things today firstly we’ve been looking after our grandchildren today and they’ve been a joy today, out in the garden all afternoon happy as Larry.
Secondly I gave my notice in at work today, I’m nearly 66 and I won’t have to go back as I’m using my holiday as notice. Don’t think it’s sunk in yet but I do feel ready.

Planted a magnolia tree in our garden this morning (we had one in our old house and have missed it) and a lovely walk in the sunshine at a local National Trust property this afternoon, beautiful spring flowers and blossom on the trees

Prepared my meadow patch in the garden for the pollinators, sweet peas coming up and planted sunflower seeds. Hope, glory on a very sunny day with a beautiful blue sky and the leaves unfurling in the bright light. I made it through the dark winter and feel as if I could spread my wings and fly. Simple things but out so rich.

The sunshine has been wonderful today after so many windy, grey and wet days. Sitting outside with a coffee and enjoying the warmth and all the spring flowers, knowing we had planted each and every one of them over the years, was lovely. And the first mowing of the lawn, long delayed, made the dog happy too!

Here in the north of Scotland it really felt like Spring today and I had my first coffee sitting out in the garden. Managed to fill my brown bin to the top so will have to wait a week now until council empties it. A lot of folks complain about the £45 charge but I certainly get value for money. I have a wee house but a fairly large garden. I also had a full line of washing blowing so, all in all, a very good day.

Sunshine makes such a difference doesn't it
I began cleaning the greenhouse and washing seed trays and flower pots.
Sat in the sunshine drinking tea with my df . Drove to a garden centre and then a visit to another df whose lambs were born last night
Yes a happy day 😊

I’ve had a fun day crafting with my 7 year old Grandson.

It’s been a glorious day, I spent it mostly sprucing up the garden.

I wish I did.
I managed to scrape my car getting out of a tight parking space at the weekend. Negligible damage to mine - I would not have noticed it(!)and certainly heard and felt nothing at the time, but apparently I am going to have to fork out for a new bumper, a rear light cover (or the whole bliddy light) and a bit of a re spray. The other car belongs to neighbours of my friend who I had been visiting.
I freely admit that I was at fault but grrrrr.
It’s going to take an awful lot of sunshine and daffodils to cheer me up after just being so stupid

Spring is springing 🎶🎶

The joiner has started building a wall of book shelves today. I’m so excited at the prospect of soon releasing all my books from their boxes after nearly 5 months 👏

Thank you NannyLovesShopping
You are the only person to react! 🙏🙏🙏
The dog is moderately sympathetic, but it’s hard on one’s own when things go belly up!

I found some cherry curd when I wasn't looking for it. I was in a chocolate shop and there it was, so I snapped it up. I love cherry curd, so was delighted.

I had a day without vertigo and managed to work in the garden.
My cup overfloweth!

Commiserations Foxygloves. Why do cars cost so much to repair?????

I can sympathise there, foxygloves. Neighbour has managed to reverse into the back of my car - only months after his son did exactly the same thing. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be too much damage, but we'll have to get it checked over to see how much it's going to cost.

We’ve been to a little lunch party for DGS6’s third birthday. It was a delight and even if I say so myself, the gluten-free, dairy-free cake I made for him was not only edible, it was delicious! shock

Helped put a a coffee morning to help and raise some funds and we did better than expected. Then managed to do some little jobs I had been putting off so pleased I had at last got them put of the way. I then got my lounger out and read my book club book which I am quite enjoying. It was wonderful to see the sun and the spring flowers blooming.

Katyj a red letter day for you! Freedom. Enjoy your retirement (once you get used to it)
Foxygloves what rotten bad luck. thanks

My first GS (21) dropped by to see me. I don’t see him as often as I used to, due to University and golf 😂- but I was so happy to see him.
Sorry to hear about the car mishaps - but, won’t the Insurance companies pay for the damage, unless the excess is so large, it’s not worth claiming.

Foxygloves Mon 03-Apr-23 20:19:43

It will inderd probably have to be an insurance job -my excess is £350, but I just want it done and dusted and behind me!

Katyj Mon 03-Apr-23 20:39:43

Aveline Thank you. Foxgloves flowers

Chocolatelovinggran Mon 03-Apr-23 20:43:04

Gave out lots of chocolate eggs to children at foodbank today - to lots of big smiles!
