Good morning from a birdsong filled E Kent.
The packers are here in a couple of hours…
At about this time last year, when DH was so ill, I realised I had dropped my gold signet ring somewhere. I was verysad as it had been a 21st birthday present from my godfather, one of the very few he’d given me. But in the greater scheme of things, it was a minor event. Imagine my surprise yesterday, when rummaging in the freezer while emptying it! I found my ring. I am overjoyed.
All will be upside down in the next few days. I just pray that I get a moving in date in the next 36 hours before I leave Kent.
Have a lovely day, despite the storms. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩❤️🦩

Good morning from a dry and calm Torbay following a showery, windy night.

A delightful story about your ring, grandMattie! Good luck with all your moving arrangements and well done on all you’ve achieved thus far.

Last night's play was enjoyable, once I got into it and being free from stewarding duties to interact freely with friends and patrons in the bar made a change. One of the actors replaced a young man who was forced to drop out through illness and was word perfect despite only having the part since last Wednesday! Impressive!

By now, DH will be on his way to his local station in France on the first leg of his journey to here. He had originally booked to travel tomorrow but last week, I read of another General Strike planned for tomorrow so he is coming today instead. At least this time we knew in time to make alternative plans.

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from a very nice location in Somerset, I don’t have a clue what the weather’s like!
I had a very enjoyable afternoon painting yesterday, so nice to meet others too.
A very lucky find grandMattie, I hope everything goes well now.
Have a lovely day x

Good morning everyone from a very wet and blustery east coast of Fife where I’m still tucked up in bed.
I had the best sleep ever not once did I need a pit stop.smile

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The South Yorkshire day is starting clear, but it did yesterday and by mid afternoon the weather was apocalyptic. I spent the afternoon with a friend I have known for forty years. Sadly, though we live quite close to each other we haven’t had the chance to get together for some time, so we made up for it! Today I must do some shopping as the cupboard is bare, and then go to the library this afternoon.
Good to hear you found your ring GM.
Have a good day, folks.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It’s bright but very wet out. We have rain again later.

grandMattie it’s lovely you have found your ring. You must have so many emotions going around in your head💐

Ashcombe hope your DH has a trouble free journey back to you.

Last night we looked after our little ladies and they were great we had a lovely play with them before bed. At one point DH was laid on the floor with GD1 stood on his belly balancing while little B was laid on his chest with her fingers up his nose I found it so funny. Good job he goes to the gym.
Today we have GS all day so I need to pick him up from DSs house at 8 this morning. Last week GS was still asleep until after his daddy went to work bless him. He walked into the lounge confused when he saw me. It’s going to rain again later so not sure what we will do. DS will stay for tea after work.

Have a lovely day everyone. Thoughts to those feeling ill or sad🌻🌻

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3°, wet and windy. Not a nice looking day. Grandmattie good luck with the move but what a stroke of fortune finding your ring! BlueBalou I'm very jealous of your painting holiday. Ash a merry meeting later for you.
Yesterday was the usual busy day with the boys. It tires me out and I'm in bed much earlier which means I wake earlier.
Today is my friend's funeral. I have the reading from John 14 to do. She had it written down that was what she wanted. Dd and Sil are going and my aunt and uncle. This afternoon, I'll potter about the house and think of my oldest friend and the lovely times we had together. Have a good day all

Morning all from a damp looking West Oxfordshire. My sister, niece and I had a good time in Oxford yesterday. Bits of shopping and a nice lunch. Today I am driving them over to visit our aunt in the Home. I fear her dementia has worsened. Afterwards we will pop in to see our uncle for a cup of tea as he isn’t up to going out for lunch. My sister knows she won’t see our aunt again. OH will be waiting for his bee hives to be delivered. Have a good day - GM I hope you get that moving date through!

TopsyIrene06 Wed 12-Apr-23 06:41:59

A cool morning here in the Southside of Glasgow. Not much sun today I fear.
I just popped in to wish Grandmattie the very best of luck with her move. I hope, after a sad, hard year, you find calm, peace and happiness with your family. You certainly deserve it.

ShazzaKanazza Wed 12-Apr-23 06:43:19

Thoughts to you today Grandmabatty 💐 I hope your DF funeral goes as well as it can.

Ashcombe Wed 12-Apr-23 06:50:16

Grandmabatty: I’m sure you’ll do your DF proud - such an honour to deliver the reading at her funeral. 💐✝️💐

My ring…

Grandmachrisy47 Wed 12-Apr-23 06:55:25

Good morning from a bright, damp and breezy Co Durham.
gMattie, so pleased you found your ring and I hope your move goes well. Ash, happy time coming for you.
We’ve had a quiet time with no child of dog minding over the school Easter holidays. Back to normal on Monday. It’s made me so aware of how our life revolves around our dgd(our only gc) and her two dogs. Since covid we don’t seem to have an appetite for going out and about.
Just read on fb that an old childhood friend has died suddenly. Although I haven’t seen her in probably 30 years, my early years were spent with her and four other girls, playing outside in the early 1950’s, when we seemed to have so much more freedom than today’s children have.
Hope everyone has a good day, the poorly ones find relief and the travellers have easy journeys.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. DH has just set off on another Duke of Edinburgh's Award expedition. DS and I are driving to the South Coast to visit my aged parents. The wet and windy weather is there so we will only venture as far as the chippy.
First week in ages that I'll miss the weekly coffee meetup.
Love to all and special hugs for Mattie and Batty 🦩x

Morning Mick, morning All. Still raining after a very wet night. Our corner of Somerset is very soggy.

A last minute decision saw us heading to a garden centre yesterday afternoon. Huge puddles across narrow roads covered the car with mud - again. Good to get out though.

Routine today. Grocery delivery, dust removal and laundry to process. If there’s time we’ll try to work out how to use a voucher for a hotel stay. It looks beyond complex.

Good news about your ring grandmattie. We were in a very similar waiting place when we moved here, it is very unsettling. Thinking of you today grandmabatty.

Take care everyone. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

Marydoll Wed 12-Apr-23 07:19:56

Good morning all from a rainy Glasgow.

What an emotional time for you GM. Glad to hear you have found your ring. You are fortunate to have packers to do the heavy work. We did all our packing on our own and one of the times I was seven months pregnant.

multi, thanks for the weather update. We are off to St Andrews for an overnight stay. I shall be taking my BIG coat! DS1 and DIL are on holiday there and we plan to surprise Dollie. We keep getting video messages from her, telling how much she misses us. 😉
It's such a faff for me to pack for just one night, I need a bag just for all my medical stuff. I have covered every eventuality! 😉
On that note, I received an email from Glasgow University Hospital Trust, advising me about disposal of spent inhalers, they should be recycled responsibly at a pharmacy, because the gases in them are contributing to to climate change.
Who would have known.

For those on holiday, enjoy and safe journey for all travelling.
A special mention for my Glesca Grannies pal, GMBatty. I know you will make your friend very proud.

Finally, Topsy, so glad to see you posting, I was about to check up on you.x

Have a good day folks, whatever your plans.

Jaxjacky Wed 12-Apr-23 07:22:44

Morning from a calm S Hants, all change later apparently.
A ray of sun finding your ring gMattie amongst the bustle.
Safe journey to oldudders Ash.
You’ll do you friend proud gbatty she chose well.
MrJ off to work, I’ll make a token gesture at housework, then have phone calls to make.
Faggots for dinner.
Enjoy your day.

Morning all. North Leicestershire is quite bright this morning but I suspect it's not going to last.

We've had a lovely few days with various combinations of grandchildren. The last 2 go home today and then we are back to choosing kitchen work tops!

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright, cool and windy with showers forecast for later
How lovely that you found your ring gMattie, hoping some more good luck is on its way to you
Today we’re waving off our visitors, they’ve had a really good time and it’s been lovely seeing everyone. We’ll still be busy though as we’re looking after the two DGC for a few days as DD2 and SiL are going over to visit DS in Switzerland.
Safe travels to your DH Ashcombe and enjoy your time together

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sun is shining through a very watery looking sky.

I’m pleased for you gM.

Enjoy your trip Marydoll.

Grandmabatty, a sad day for you. flowers

I’m off to work again, yesterday was hugely busy, so a good day for the charity coffers.
