Good morning from a bright N. Bucks.

This morning I must make two sponge cakes. One is for my friend who helps run our craft club. She has an ‘ 0’ birthday next Monday so we will have an early celebration this afternoon at the club.
I must also finish a felt crown for the WI competition at our meeting this evening.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

Good morning from a dry NE where it is forecast to be 14 degrees today, that is summer in this neck of the woods 😆
Had a message from DD with lovely photographs, she is at a conference in Dublin, I will get to see her this weekend as she will fly into Newcastle for a brief visit.
Had a message from GD2, she was excited because she has been chosen to play the part of Mufasa in the school production of the Lion king and will be singing a solo. She is also playing the Moonlight sonata on Grandparent's day next week.
SIL coming this morning as it is shopping day,
Well done grandMattie, you are nearly there.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I woke early but went back to sleep. There are advantages to being retired!

Yarn group this morning and pottery this afternoon.

I'm so glad your move happened yesterday gMattie smile
You're in!! All the time in the world to sort yourself.

Listening to nightingales sounds magic
Whitewave
I'm hearing birdsong but it's just the usual.
Have a happy Spring morning everyone.

Good morning from a dull and slightly windy day here on the east coast of Fife I see my 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 blowing in the wind
It’s going to be a good day I’m off to sainsburys with my carer today, firstly I’ll go to the bank then across the road for a coffee get the washing on for my nice lady ready to iron she’s even taking over the garden from my dear late husband who loved pottering about in it.

I pray for all who those have little I know there’s so many

Good morning Michael and all GNs. The sun is out in South Yorkshire. My back seems considerably better today, but I slept badly so I’m tired this morning. Yesterday I trimmed a very small hedge that borders the front lawn, did a bit of pruning, and then sat in the back with a cold drink, watching a baby robin being fed by one of his parents. What a joy! Writers group at the library this afternoon.
Have the best day you can folks.

Jaxjacky Wed 03-May-23 08:03:55

Morning from a sunny S Hants. Pleased you’re in gMattie, it’ll all come together eventually.
Happy travels NannyJan.
Yesterday was quiet, bit of shopping, MrJ wanted to strim the grass until I reminded him of No Mow May, so it can wait.
Today, washing, butcher to pick up an order and farm shop.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it's 9°C.

I hope you had a good day yesterday Mick.

A busy day ahead, GM, but good to know you made it at long last. Although not cheap, I often pay for the unpacking and taking away of packaging of white goods, saves a lot of stress and pre-empts DH complaining about a trip to the tip.

I would like to thank you all for your good wishes yesterday and to those who took time to message me. It did mean a lot to me. I'm finding life problematic at the moment, annoyed at my lack of control over things and my failing health. This does not sit well with someone, who likes to be in control.

DH is taking me to see Babydoll 😍 today and to deliver DIL's birthday gifts. We have a bit of a problem, there is only one way out and the main road at the entrance to our houses is closed for resurfacing, getting out is an absolute nightmare.
The good news is that, at last, Baby has reached her target weight, putting on all the weight she lost, and Dollie is improving. so that is a huge relief.
There are still some other worries about baby, but we will get there, she is being well looked after.

Yesterday was spent wrapping gifts for both DIL and DD, whose birthday is tomorrow. I reached a point where I couldn't remember, whose was whose! 😕
I have a habit of picking up things for DD in sales, then forgetting about them. So much so, 😚 that I will be holding some back for Christmas and even then she is still getting far too much! 😉
She has been a great support to me and deserves to be spoiled.

My dear pal up the road, Kalu and my other poorly GN friends are frequently in my thoughts, their troubles are far greater than mine.

I will go back now and read all the posts on this gentle thread. I have changed my mantra from, Carpe diem to , the words of a well known song: Die tempore, dulcis Jesu! 😉

Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning from Essex by the sea. We are forecast a sunny day but a little chilly.
DH will run me into town on his way to the boat as I have a few things to buy, I'll get the bus back.
I hope all goes well with the moving in GM a big change for you.
I spoke to DD2 last night and five year old DGD has chicken pox, hopefully she will be over it quite quickly. Her 14 year old sister starts her mock GCSE's next week and can't afford to be ill.
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone and I hope the sun is shining wherever you are today xxx

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Up with the lark this morning as it is the first phase of the solar panel installation. We seem to use a huge amount of electricity and generating our own seems very attractive despite the upheaval.

Oh gosh GrandMattie having moved many times in my life I remember the stress of it all. Just take it a little at a time and soon you will have forgotten all about it - a bit like childbirth.

Pleased to hear Babydoll has reached a healthy weight and hope you feel better Marydoll.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Gingster Wed 03-May-23 08:28:04

Good morning all and it’s chilly here in Essex.

Yesterday I went to bridge club in the afternoon and again in the evening. My concentration was waning by the end. My 91 yr old friend always does both sessions, drives herself there and back and is one of the best players. Can’t see me being like that in 20 years time. She’s truly an inspiration.

Dd has her consultant phoning today (hopefully). There’s been no contact since way before her scan . That was over two weeks ago. I really don’t think she’s getting the best attention.

I will go to mass this morning to say more prayers for her and for others.

Take your time GM there’s no rush now you’re in.

How lovely to hear Nightingales Ash . I’ve rarely heard any.

Dh is off fishing so I will have an empty.
Market day and keeping busy to await DD’s call .🙏

Take care everyone 🌷

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dry and sunny Oxfordshire.
Dog day today so a nice walk will be on the cards later, she is so happy just to sit in the garden watching the tree and guarding the perimeter fence that we often have to drag her out of the driveway, once we get to the road though she’s usually Ok.
Clean house, washing all done yesterday and pathways cut in the lawn, due to No Mow May, so I might sit in the conservatory with a book, or I might decluttering the kitchen cupboards. Decisions, decisions…..
So pleased you are in GM take it easy there is no rush now.
Marydoll glad you are feeling better and that Babydoll is improving, such a relief.

Have a good day everyone, try to get some down time in the sun if you can.

GrannySomerset Wed 03-May-23 08:46:21

Glorious morning though it feels quite cool so will need to wear layers, I think. Need to collect prescriptions this morning, singing this afternoon and a meeting to discuss the latest plan for reconfiguring our parishes this evening. So what passes for a busy day these days.

Delighted by the news from gMattie and Marydoll and hope things go well for both of them.

dragonfly46 Wed 03-May-23 08:49:57

Sending your DD best wishes and good luck today Gingster.

luluaugust Wed 03-May-23 09:00:29

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Off to meet a friend for coffee and a good chat, DH then wants to do the garden centre so the ironing will have to wait.
gM goodness what a day, I think you said you were moving into sheltered housing?, if so I guess you will be of interest for a while.
Good wishes to all

EkwaNimitee Wed 03-May-23 09:04:33

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle.
Yesterday, I went into town on errands. There was little sign of preparations for the jollities this weekend....half-hearted bunting strung here and there, some shop windows with nice displays, I get a feeling of not a lot of interest but we'll see.
I got on with some planting after lunch. I was annoyed to find that a rhododendron that was supposed to be white is obviously going to be pink. It was labelled, wrongly, as a variety I'd had in my last garden and really liked.
Today I'll have a busy morning with housework and in the afternoon I have to go for a blood test in our new and inconveniently situated health centre. Only moderately convenient if you drive.

I hope you are soon sorted to your liking grandMattie.

And have a pleasant day everyone.

Wyllow3 Wed 03-May-23 09:19:26

Morning from a sunny S Yorks.

No to-do's on the list except a bit of calendar re-arranging so I'll either go to the gym or peep in on the blue bell woods.

Bests for poorlies and family and friends poorlies and have lovely outings.

Taichinan Wed 03-May-23 10:23:55

Good morning all a stray sunbeam on the Angus coast! I even have one of the patio doors open! No more sun forecast until Sunday afternoon (🤞) so making the most of it.
So glad to hear from Marydoll again and that Babydoll has regained her weight. Also that all your 'stuff' has arrived and your f/f is being replaced today. I wouldn't be inclined to use that supplier again, unapologetic as it is about bad service. Anyway, many good wishes for health and happiness in your new 🏡.
Karma I love the sound of that chair!
Grandmabatty lovely story about Ursula. Where on earth did he learn that unusual name?! (Or maybe I'm out of touch).
Successful tai chi class yesterday, and the necessary taxi journeys. I'm going to have to order another one today to go for my Covid booster, and then another tomorrow for tai chi. After that I hope my car will be back - and I'll be considerably poorer!!,
Dancing GD is at Frankfurt airport now on her way to a week of dance in Estonia, and I'm looking forward to some photos - what a wonderful thing is modern technology.
Now off I go to book my taxi. Have a good day everyone x

Blossoming Wed 03-May-23 10:35:10

Good morning all from sunny Lancashire. A flying visit today as I have an ophthalmology appointment, a follow up to assess if the Botox treatment is doing its job. I will try to catch up later.

Grandmabatty Wed 03-May-23 10:43:59

Brook not a chance! Taichinan no idea where Ursula came from. His wee friend at nursery has a new baby sister so I suspect baby envy. But Ursula is not a name in our family. Possibly he's watched The little Mermaid as the baddie is called that 😂

hulahoop Wed 03-May-23 11:10:51

A late good morning from West York's it's a lovely morning Sat out on patio for coffee.
Gingster I have my fingers crossed for your daughter .
We had 6yr old grandson yesterday ,he is no trouble apart from asking for sweets regularly (which he doesn't get) any suggestions to reason gratefully accepted. I took him to see my friends 10 week old kittens he was happy playing with them . Oh has been to local tip he noticed there were a lot more things they won't take ,don't know where people are expected to take things !!

Susan56 Wed 03-May-23 12:11:21

Thinking of you, your daughter and family Gingster.I really hope the news is good🙏🏻

BlueBalou Wed 03-May-23 12:18:25

A late good morning or perhaps I should say good afternoon instead 😊
I had an early DDog walk and then got stuck in to planting up the remaining border before the rain returns! It’s gloriously sunny here but chilly in the wind.
DH is excavating a big hole for a very pot-bound pieris that’s been sat on the patio for at least 20 years! I’m hoping it will take to being properly planted 🤞🏻, it gamely struggles on every year!
Enjoy the sunshine x
