I can scarcely believe the weather forecasts atm. They keep talking about glorious sunshine and warmth. The biting NE wind has made it really chilly, no sun until the afternoon and despite mentioning very little rain was in the forecast it poured during the night. Covered myself with a fleece this evening but will not go back to the electric heated throw otherwise I’ll never stop using it.

It is the wind that is the problem; out of the wind and in the sun, the weather is lovely, but get in the shade or in the open where the wind can get you and it is cold.

I was watching TV with a heated pad sitting on my thighs and a blanket was on top. After a shower, I will be going to bed with a hot water bottle. I live in N W London.

Here in Central Europe I've spent the last two days on the sofa, suffering from the heat. And I had hoped to clean all the windows this week.

It's no use cleaning them when it's sunny, JackyB

You think you've done a wonderful job, then when the sun starts to go down, you can see all the smears left on them.

Yes, I've tried everything! Including vinegar 🙂

Hope it cools down for you soon.

My feet are freezing despite woolly socks, 3 layers, scarf and thick blanket while watching tv.
Now in bed electric blanket full on .
This call it spring weather joke has been the same for the past week or more. Prior to that the cold wind hasn’t abated.
Greetings to those enjoying good weather can’t wait fir it to reach us in the chilly east of the South East.

Spent the day in Curlywhirly-land, Cheshire, with friends. Chilly morning required an extra later or two but post 1pm it was glorious: sunny, warm, picnic weather.

I too remember that snow on June 1st. We were living in Malta and had just been told we were being posted to the north of Scotland when someone told us there was snow on the runway that morning at RAF Kinloss! But then came the summer of '76 and we were warmer there than in Malta. Weather's always topsy turvy in Britain!

Winter jumper out: heating on tuesday evening.

The variations are amazing. After being plagued by constant grey skies for what felt like forever the arrival of sunshine has been wonderful. Yes, it’s been windy although it always is here by the coast. In sheltered spots (like our back garden) it’s been very warm, of course much less so in the shade. I’m just grateful to see a blue sky, we’ll be back to grey all too soon and others will have the sun. I can remember my Mum wearing her jumpers at this time of year while muttering ‘flaming June’. Looks like one of those years.

Don’t know about global warming, bit I reckon we’re heading for another ice age 😱😱

JaneJudge Sun 04-Jun-23 11:37:10

I've been putting it on in the evening and the temperature really drops

EEJit Sun 04-Jun-23 11:43:18

I've turned the heating down at last.

DeeJaysMum Sun 04-Jun-23 12:03:14

I'm sitting here in t-shirt and shorts (Birmingham, uk) and don't have to have the air conditioning on all over the house today.
I'm heat intolerant, so am much more comfortable when it's cooler.

Callistemon21 Sun 04-Jun-23 12:10:09

It was lovely here yesterday and is another warm, sunny day today.
Havent had the gpher in for weeks, although I did wear a cardigan some evenings.

I'm more worried that they'll announce a drought and a hosepipe ban.

Haven't had the heating on for weeks

grandMattie Sun 04-Jun-23 12:14:55

Moved to Bristol in the first week of May. Not had the heating on at all. Mornings and evenings chilly with that cold N.Easterly “breeze”. Wear a cardi each of the day. Not cold though with the glorious sunshine.

Azalea99 Sun 04-Jun-23 12:30:22

I woke up at 3:30 this morning and put a jumper on!
This half term I’m sure the kids have been skating on the lido instead of paddling
I’m in NW London, btw

leeds22 Sun 04-Jun-23 12:30:24

I am getting fed up of having to put the heating on. But I have managed to get DH to accept the summer duvet - need to get the winter one to the laundrette.

nanna8 Sun 04-Jun-23 13:02:16

It’s cold in Melbourne after a couple of weeks up in the Northern Territory (35C) and Broome. All relative,I suppose, because apparently today was a bit warmer than when we were away at 18 C. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have perpetual heat, but mostly not.

Expecting the same here too in S Hampshire, keeping the in use water butt topped up by hose, two more in reserve capped off for now.

Had the heater on in the car this morning...

MiniMoon Sun 04-Jun-23 15:40:37

It's a beautiful sunny day here in sw Northumberland. I put on a summer dress this morning, but went and got a jumper to go over it. We still have the cold north easterly wind keeping the temperature down.
